I was satisfied with MaidStay's services while I was using them up until November 2021. However, it is my understanding that they abruptly shut down their service at the end of that November. As a client of MaidStay's for more than a year, I was never notified that they were shutting down. I only found out because the housekeeper I regularly requested contacted me on the side, and I was able to stop my recurring payments. She has also shared that even to this day (July 2022), they have not paid her for the final cleanings she did for the company. read more

Despite multiple attempts to reach the company via text/voicemail/email I had no luck and had to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge. I booked a move-out apartment deep clean for 9 am on a Tuesday. 9:15 no show, so I call, goes to voicemail. 9:30 I call again, they said they didn't know the cleaner was late and would follow up. (How do you not know what your workers are doing?). 10 rolls around and they still don't know where the cleaner is. 10:30 rolls around and they call and tell me they have no idea where the cleaner is and ask if I want to cancel or rebook for 1:30 PM. I said rebook (my inspection was the next day I didn't have much choice), and a new person came on time at 1:30, 4.5 hours after my original appointment. I went back to the apartment to inspect, they completely neglected to sweep and mop the floors. They were obviously overlooked / ignored. The tub was disgusting, and the freezer had only been half cleaned. I sent photos of the work to them and they gave me a full refund with the reply: "Hi Jessiah, thanks for sending this photos over, we sincerely apologize for your experience. I assure you this is highly uncommon and completely unacceptable. A refund has been issued." Customer service did they best they could but whoever they have doing the cleaning is incompetent. Thankfully I was able to hire a TaskRabbit cleaner last minute to clean up their mess, which cost me a fortune. Would not recommend. read more

I decided to try maidstay because of their deep cleaning option. The results were lackluster at best. My oven wasn't touched, the windows weren't touched nor were even the window sills - still dusty. Finally there was hair still left on my bathroom sink as well as streaks and toothpaste residue still on the fixtures. I've had better cleanings for half the price of this so-called "deep cleaning." I will say on the positive side they removed all the cushions from the couch and vacuumed up any crumbs etc, the floors were well mopped, and the bathroom tub was spotless. As well as the inside of the refrigerator was spotless. UPDATE: ok so I left the above review nearly a year ago. I decided it's been a while and I would give Maidstay another chance. Big mistake. I had them come in while I was out of town for a couple days on business. I returned today to find my stove had been left on. Presumably from when they cleaned it? I also then noticed a white substance left all over my kitchen counter. What kind of cleaning is this. My advice to anyone would be, go elsewhere. They may perform a moderately ok cleaning of your apartment which is sad enough but they could also put it in danger of burning down. Avoid at all costs!!! read more

My account showed a pending charge before the service was rendered, even though confirmation e-mail states that customer's account won't be billed until after cleaning. I'm really confused by all the great reviews.... are they fake? They did an okay job but there's nothing professional about the cleaning to be honest. It's nothing I couldn't have done with a little elbow grease. I much prefer Maid in Hoboken. My experience with them started online - I booked my appointment online and it was smooth sailing until they arrived. I got multiple phone calls and confusion when they couldn't get into the apartment (I wasn't home, something MIH handles really well). The girl on the phone was VERY nice and sweet and I appreciate them coming back but I wrote all the codes needed and detailed instructions when I made the appointment. Why wouldn't that information be passed down to the cleaners? There were definitely some pros - they took out the trash, loaded the dishwasher (but put everything on its side so all the cups are filled with dirty water...), changed the sheets and even put out new bath mats they saw that I had bought but upon examination of everything, nothing feels too clean. My TV stand is covered in dust (looks like they wiped it with a wet paper towel and all the debris got stuck there), my dining table and chairs (they're clear/glass) are still covered in finger prints and crumbs, there's still crumbs on my coffee table and couch, hair on my bathroom floor, crumbs all over the kitchen counters and it just seems like a half assed job. I suggest they switch to microfiber cloths. Their website also states "all of our cleaners come fully equipped to clean your home" ... aside from their vacuum they used ALL my stuff! My paper towels, my windex wipes (fairly hidden in my bathroom cabinet by the way), my shower spray, my swiffer wet jet, my klorox wipes, etc. Why am I paying $120+ for them to use all my stuff? I know they offer some kind of grace period of if you're not happy they'll come back & fix it but I'm not into that. If you can't clean right the first time, I don't want you back in my home. I'll suck it up & clean it up myself and call a new service next month. Additionally, I have a home security system that alerts me of hot spots motions. Going through my mail, all my closets & drawers then yelling about my hamster being "a fucking rat" is probably not the most professional way to handle a first time consumer. It's very violating. Oh & blasting my heat to 78 is aggressive. I know you're not paying the bill but 68-70 would have sufficed. All in all, aside from the girl on the phone being nice and accommodating during the lock out - so not worth it. read more

Cleaner did not show up and there were zero communication until I called the customer service myself (almost 30min past scheduled time). I was told there was a last minute emergency so the cleaner can no longer came. After which the customer service offered to find a replacement for the next day and I specifically asked for morning replacement and I was promised to receive a callback in an hour with a response, which did not happen. I have to call again, and this time they ask again whether afternoon would work, to which I said no and I was told will get another response in 5 mins, which again did not happen. Finally after waiting for another 15 mins, I gave up and find a replacement elsewhere and called them to cancel. Would not recommend. read more

It was a breeze setting up my deep clean for my new home. Porscha was on time and ready to work upon arrival. She was detail oriented and made sure that all of our requests were met. We appreciate that MaidStay was able to accommodate us during the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm super disappointed with the communication and reschedule and most of all lying about the reason they had to reschedule my appointment. I booked for 7/28 but they called JUST 3-4 hours before the scheduled time to say their maid can't make it. I had scheduled for moving and had to juggle to have the movers rebook another time so they won't clash. Had a stressful experience. And so I scheduled a time next day. They double booked the same maid with overlapping time and our service came in an hour and 30 mins late!!!! And we found out, the reason they cancelled our appointment is because there was another appointment before us that canceled and they didn't want the maid to stay long (assumed they pay her per hour and she is paid if she has to wait for another appointment or something of the sorts) to do for us although the maid was willing to stay and come in by our time. And they totally lied and stated a dishonest reason that the maid had family emergency. Very very unacceptable!!! Dishonest and unprofessional! Just because an appointment before us canceled and they have a dopey system they lie and cancel the following appointment. Bad strategy for business and should respect people's time. I call the owner to refund my money back for such dishonesty and having wasted our time. A 15% discount was offered one and only after I raised my dissatisfaction for reschedule, it never offered otherwise. Knowing the reason for reschedule this require a full refund! read more

The last service I had booked online which was a week ago- they never showed up, never called, never responded to calls, texts, voicemails, etc. I think they must be out of business. If they are out of business they should shut down the site and automatic payment/billing and the voicemail since no one responds and I have heard of multiple people having the same issue. Ivory just completed my first cleaning. I requested a general cleaning for 2 bedrooms. She did a great job. She was also very friendly, easy-going, and great with my dogs. I'm pleased with the cleaning, especially for the price. It definitely relieved some stress since I have not been able to clean due to recent surgery. The house smells wonderful. My brother and husband were both impressed when they came home. I've docked 1 star for a booking mis-hap. I requested service for 9am on a Monday morning. By 10:15 am, nobody had showed up or contacted me. When I called the office I was informed my cleaning was scheduled for the following Monday on their end. I had an email that clearly stated the Monday I requested. Mallory said she would try to get me someone for the afternoon and called me back a few minutes later to confirm for 3pm arrival. She added an additional 10% discount for the inconvenience. Ivory arrived at 1:30pm, which was no problem because I planned to be home anyway. My house is full of hair because we have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I have iRobot working everyday on schedule and I need an extra deep cleaning level since my mother in law is coming tomorrow for a visit. I was hesitated but decided to book MaidStay after reading the review. My appointment is at 9am, ladies arrive at 9:34am. I don't mind since they already stated it very clear in the email "please allow us a 1 hour window to account for traffic, parking, and other surprises". Ladies arrive with full of 2 bags of equipment, of course they use my vacuum and paper towel for extra power too. After all, those are cleaning supply, as long as it does the work, i'm happy! They spent more than 3hrs for my 2bd apt and made it looking good. I'm very confidence to see my mother in law tomorrow LOL. On top of that, they are very nice, friendly and sweet ladies. Cleaning lady showed up at my apartment 15 minutes before scheduled start time, proceeded to ring doorbell incessantly. I let her in and told her very directly that this was a rude thing to do. She then in retaliation called HQ and told them that my place was too dirty for her to clean! Mind you, I am paying $120.00 for this company to clean a 650 sq foot, 1 bedroom apartment. The company texts me and demands that I pay another $50.00 for a "deep cleaning." I ask what exactly am I paying $120.00 for if you won't clean my place? Cleaning lady then leaves without notice. I demand a refund and owner tells me that he is going to charge a "lockout fee" based on the fact that I refused service or that the apartment was too dirty for them to clean. There is a long history of mishaps with this company including I believe charging my credit card on occasions where no service was rendered. And usually are very accommodating towards scheduling changes as well. Adam has been our cleaner since the beginning and we are always so happy to have him come clean! When we first met him we didn't think he was that serious about cleaning, but the results were absolutely astounding. He notices every little detail, we have knobs on the mirror that were rusted and he actually didnt just clean, but even chromed them out! My bathroom looks amazing now and I cant believe that there was even a nice metallic surface underneath all that rust and stain. I have been hesitant to try another cleaning company after a few underwhelming experiences. Maidstay got amazing reviews so I figured that I would give them a try. It was really good, the cleaning was very thorough, not just superficial. I was surprised to have a male cleaning person but I guess that shows my bias. I commissioned Maidstay to clean a 2BR apartment with carpet and most other cleaning companies I've had had are not too good with cleaning the carpet as it requires a specialized cleaning chemical.
