Simply amazing. I am a first time customer and hooked. I used to think hiring a cleaning service or maid was a luxury, and unnecessary, because "I could do it myself". I also used to find cleaning enjoyable and even therapeutic. Well, then I found a career I LOVE that just so happened to require 60-80/hr weeks, and learned what a misery it is to have the choice between living in a constantly dirty house, or spending the little free time I did have constantly catching up on cleaning. Not sure which is worse. I did that for about a year and change before finally realizing whatever money it cost was WELL worth the QUALITY OF LIFE hiring someone would give me. After my first time, what a confirmation. I shopped around quite a bit, found companies with sketchy arguments online between owner and customers, found companies that were eco-friendly but refused to do certain (basic?) tasks because of this- I love the idea of being green, but what's the point of paying someone if you still have to do half of it yourself?... and even found apps that seemed convenient but required crazy contracts. I knew of several independent cleaners that friends and family used, but didn't want to have that personal attachment that sometimes can be a burden to do business with (feeling bad if you have to cancel, feeling bad for getting annoyed if they cancel, feeling bad about complaints etc). I knew MaidPro by name, didn't think much of it, but when I visited the website and saw their EXTENSIVE checklist they complete every visit, I knew that's what I wanted- Peace of mind that everything is done. I mean, that's the whole point right? Pricing is also very reasonable, and the ease of service (don't have to be home if you don't want to, and so many convenient options for payment) plus no contract required made the deal even better. The service itself- the bottom line of course- was immaculate. George came to my home- sorry I'd didn't get to meet him, I would have hugged him! My house hadn't had a deep cleaning in over a year, and truth be told (the shame!) hadn't had even a regular cleaning in months, except basics like dishes, laundry, toilet, sinks, and wiping the counter. I almost cried when I walked in to a sparkling house down to every detail. Since it had been so long, I also requested the blinds to be cleaned, the fridge, and inside the stove- I still can't believe they're all clean. Even though I skimmed their checklist, I must have missed a few, because what a happy shock to see my bed made like a hotel, and even the coffee cup and spoon I left in the sink that morning had been washed. George left us a nice note, a completed checklist, and -at long last- a beautiful house to come home to. And there is not many greater, lovely, comfy feelings of contentment than putting your feet up in a clean home. I even got a call the next day from the office to follow up on how my cleaning was (which of course I've been working too much to respond to, lol, but now will). What thorough, caring service from start to finish. So happy I found this company. I will not be looking anywhere else, and even though they don't require a contract, they have my loyalty. read more

Overpriced and poor work. We just purchased a home and the previous owner had a dog. There was dog hair everywhere. When I called to set up my appointment, I explicitly stated to vacuum any and all dog hair and provide a thorough cleaning. Now, since the house was empty, one would think that getting the nooks and crannies would not be so difficult. I was mistaken. There was dust and dog hair between the spindles of the banister. The shower still had soap scum on the tile along with the shower door. The ceiling fan in the kitchen had a layer of grime and you could still visibly see the dust balls on it. I ran my hand across the built-ins in the dining room and my hand was covered in dust. MaidPro has a 49 point checklist. I'd say they missed 48 of those 49 points. They also state there are height restrictions with regard to ceiling fans. I'm no giant, yet I was able to clean the ceiling fan off myself. Hmmmm... After paying $232 for a one time clean, I was appalled at the lack of attention to detail. I was also under the impression that the cleaners review the list with you. The cleaners that I had could not wait to run out the door fast enough, as it was more important to tend to their cell phone and make plans for lunch. I don't begrudge anyone a meal but where is your professionalism or pride in your work??? When I called to express my dismay, I was offered a re-clean. NO THANKS! I'm getting a credit of $75. I will take that $75 and put towards some decent cleaning supplies and use my good ole' fashioned elbow grease. I guess the saying is true, if you want something done right, you should do it yourself. In closing, I would not recommend MaidPro to anyone! read more

Scheduling is flexible if we need to change things up, and feedback is always encouraged and followed up on. I would NOT RECOMMEND Maidpro. I actually have had no issues with the people who did the actual cleaning -- they were all very nice women who did a great job. However, I do have problems with the owner and how the business is run overall. We scheduled Maidpro to come to our apartment in Salem to do a move-out clean. The timing of this was critical since we were moving out of town. The cleaning crew did not show up on the day of the clean. I called the owner about half an hour after the time they were supposed to be there and was told that the cleaning job was entered into their computer system but was never assigned a crew. There was nothing more she could do that day, but could send someone the next day. Normally, that may have not been the biggest issue, however since we had already moved out of the apartment, it meant that my husband had to drive 30 miles the next day to come back to Salem to let the crew inside the apartment and then do our final walk-through with our super. Not ideal. The owner in my opinion, was not apologetic enough about the major mistake on her end and did not offer to reduce the price of our cleaning in anyway. I had to tell her that I would not be paying, it was not offered. If the mistake had been noticed the day before, or even the morning of, and we were notified that the cleaning would have to be rescheduled and offered a reduced rate, then that would have been satisfactory. But since the huge mistake was not even noticed until I called them and then nothing was offered to us to cover the mistake, then that is not acceptable. I would never use them again and would not recommend their company. read more

I had my first cleaning today! I am super happy! I waited for the cleaners to arrive, gave them a key so going forward I don't have wait around. The girls are very nice, introduced themselves and got right to work. When I came home 3 hours later, my home sparkled and smell great too. Let if be known that I like the smell of cleaning products. I noticed that they even dusted/cleaned my spice rack! umm wow. Everything on my kitchen counters (small appliances) was wiped down and clean. I had my place professionally painted about a year ago, my windows and baseboards are white and I like to keep them that way. So that was my inspection point, when I came home i looked around and checked all the window sills and baseboards! Good job ladies, well done. As I looked around I noticed a lot of other things they cleaned, the outside of trash cans, and the little stand that holds the plunger and one that holds the toilet brush were almost, dare I say, polished. Just so I don't ridiculously raise expectations here, my place was not sterilized and vacuumed sealed. I know that with monthly cleanings I will have my own cleaning to do here and there, but I won't be overwhelmed because the basics will have already been done. read more

Had a consultation with the owner to explain I need some extra help to hang up clothes and put away all cleaned laundry that was professionally done. I was told it would cost more money which I had no problem with. Yes, I was charged more money, but not for the help I needed. The 2 girls did a good cleaning job, but left by saying bye as they didn't speak English and I tipped the two in cash $10.00 a piece. First time customer and my last time as a customer. read more

I engaged MaidPro in Salem to clean my 1,100 sq. foot condo so that I could spend more time working and not have to worry about cleaning. Well, they call what they do cleaning? Think not. They don't move any furniture, vacuum only the center pathways of the wall to wall (not close to the baseboards), didn't do a very good job on my kitchen or bathrooms either - the floors have not been washed as I would have expected. I could do a better job and I don't consider myself a very good housekeeper. I was so looking forward to bathroom and kitchen floors being spotless and sanitized, instead, nothing. On the second (and very last) visit I asked that my newly renovated bathroom be cleaned. It had been a minor construction/painting site for 3 days. There was NOTHING in this tiny bath - not even a mirror - to get in the way of making the place spotless. Well, not only wasn't it clean enough to eat off the tile floor, it wasn't even clean enough to walk barefoot on the floor. Soon after they left I noticed that the sink wasn't clean... really? Wouldn't cleaning a bathroom sink be part of any regular cleaning? Every time I walked into that room I would find something else that would make me want to scream - thick plaster dust on the newly-installed vanity light, tub that wasn't clean, floor that still had debris in back of the toilet. I did complain and was asked if I wanted them to come back to clean...what? Never. I asked for at least 1/2 of my money back and have received nothing in over 10 days. I am searching for an independent cleaner who understands what clean really means - not waiving a duster over a surface, but actually cleaning it. If you hire MaidPro in Salem, be prepared to be very disappointed after you paid their overpriced fee. I am not the only person to complain about their service - in this case you get no where near what you paid for. read more

I contacted Maid Pro in Salem, MA to get an estimate for a house cleaning. They asked me about the number of rooms and then gave me a verbal estimate of $257. Upon asking, I was told the estimate was based on 4.5 hours of work at $55 per hour, plus a $10 travel fee. As I knew the number of hours had no real bearing on the number of rooms, but on the amount of time it would take to clean each room, I insisted on a written estimate from someone on-site at our house. We picked a date, and they said that the cleaners would arrive on-site and provide me a written estimate and, if that was agreeable, they would then immediately start to clean my house. On Nov 1, two cleaners arrived at 10:45. I walked them through the house and showed them each room. They then showed me the previously-created written estimate of $257. I agreed to that. After a few hours of cleaning, I got a phone call from the Maid Pro office manager, telling me that that the cleaners told her that it would take extra time, as the house needed more cleaning than they thought. I was fine with that and told her to have them continue. The cleaners completed the cleaning and left at 3:30 (4.75 elapsed hours). Based on $55 per hour plus $10 travel, the fee should have been $271.25. Three days later, I received a notification from my credit card company that I was charged $587.50. I called the Maid Pro office and the manager told me that the $55 per hour rate was for each cleaner. This was the first I heard of that. Nowhere was it indicated to me that the hourly charge was per-person. This makes the estimate virtually worthless and misleading. This sounds like a "bait and switch" scheme, in which the quoted estimate is artificially low, in order to get me to get the service done, while the final fee is extraordinarily high. If I was correctly quoted $495 in the original estimate (which was 4.5 hours x 2 cleaners + $10 travel), I might have shopped around to get a comparison quote. But I was comfortable with an estimate of $257 for the job. While I understand that an estimate is not a precise fee, the final billed fee should have been relatively close to the provided estimate amount, and not more than double the price. Finally, their $587.50 charge was based on 10.5 hours of work, while the cleaners only worked 4.75 hours on-site. Even doubling the 4.75 hours to 9.5 hours, that means that Maid Pro billed me for an extra hour of work that was never performed. read more

I'm not really sure what they cleaned for two hours with three people. All it seemed that they did was mop the floors. They called me to say that it would take too long to clean the blinds because they were in really bad condition, even though they weren't, they were just dusty. So after they were done supposedly cleaning, I go into the bathroom and I see hair on the toilet and the bathtub and not too mention it doesn't look or smell like it has been cleaned. They even left a checklist of everything they did, which consisted of things like cleaning the window sills and rafters, which of course were all dusty! What ticked me off most of all was that the closet I specifically told them to clean, seemed untouched. Don't go with maidpro, you are better off just cleaning yourself. read more

I've had Maidpro clean my house monthly for the last 6 months or so, and they've been doing a great job. I have a dog and a cat plus my husband and I are both very busy, as a result it's hard to keep the house from getting messy. Ever since I hired Maidpro, it's been much easier to keep up at least an acceptable level of cleanliness between cleaning. They clean thoroughly and even tidied up my clutter, and it's such a pleasure to come home to a sparkling, neat house. Janice the owner is super nice and always sends reminders and follow ups both by phone and by email, so I never have to keep track of when the next cleaning is. We had MaidPro come into our Salem home about 2 years ago when we were having out of town family over and had a newborn which meant no time to clean! We were happy with them calling us right back and set up a time that we wanted. They did not come over to give us an estimate which is probably the first problem. How can you say how much it is to clean a house if you don't even come over? They were trustworthy locked up when they left (they did the cleaning while we were at work). Major problem: they did not touch the kitchen floor. We have a wood floor that needs to be refinished, but it can still be cleaned with no problem (I use a wet swiffer on it all the time) they didn't even sweep it, nevermind not wash it. It seems like they spent all the time in the bathroom upstairs (which yes looked good), made the beds and randomly dusted. I found a bunch of areas that I would have cleaned,like the baseboard trim, dust in corners etc. The neighbor said they were not here all that long, maybe 3 hrs. We called and complained and they offered to have her come back out, but we were so frustrated by the experience and with our family coming, it was not worth them coming back. Plus since we "complained" I felt like something could happen to our things since we were not going to be home. I am not saying anything happened,, but it is like sending your food back at a restaurant,, you take a chance of "spit" ending up in your meal. So bottom line, I have experienced much better. Be sure to have them come out for an estimate and be home to monitor the cleaning to make sure they are doing everything that you expect. read more

I had MaidPro clean my 3-story house in Marblehead once a month for about 8 months. The only reason we stopped using them was that we moved out of state. I highly recommend the business. The owner, Janice, was extremely responsive to my phone calls and made our cleanings work with our schedules. The maids were courteous, quick, and efficient. Sad to say that I had several poor experiences with MaidPro in the short time I used them as a service. First visit: I had to wait almost a week for them to return my call and actually schedule my first appointment after signing up with the service. They called on a Wednesday saying they could schedule service for the next day. At that point in time I already had a full schedule for Thursday, but rearranged so that they could come (otherwise I would've had to wait two weeks for the next available appointment.) I stressed that I could only be there for 3 of the hours in the 4 hour window (I had to make an appointment in town at noon) and that in order to receive them they had to arrive in the earlier part of the window. They assured me that I was first on the list for cleaning that day. So on Thursday I wake up and proceed to wait around for them from 9 AM to 11:30 until I decide to call and ask where they are? I am told they are running behind and will be there shortly after noon (at which point I will have left). Keep in mind I have already rescheduled the rest of my morning to accommodate their visit, which never happened. They ask if I can just leave a key somewhere? I don't have an extra key made at this point in time, nor would feel comfortable just leaving a key for perfect strangers to pick up and enter my home for the first time. I remind them that they promised that I would be the first clean of the day, and they say they have no record of that agreement, even though we'd just talked the day before and I believe it was the same woman I spoke with on the phone both times. We schedule a visit for two weeks later, I am angry and let them know that this is a poor way to start out our relationship, thinking that perhaps they'd offer some sort of discount as an apology for the waste of my time and lack of service, but nothing. First actual visit (two weeks later): I am the first cleaning of the day, and it takes 2 Pros over 3 hours to clean our small apartment. After they left I find several spots they missed, including a whole room that they forgot to dust and several baseboards untouched (even though this is part of the 49 point checklist). I also had a specific sticky part of the floor I asked them to clean and they didn't even attempt. I speak with them the next day and let them know about these misses, and they offer to re-clean, but I say they have already wasted enough of my time and demand a discount, which they give me. Second visit: The Pro who visits my house is very sweet and chatty. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a friendly demeanor and am happy to engage in a little chit chat when someone is a guest in my home, but I work from home often and this two hour window is precious time for me to finish my work and she was more than just making polite small talk. I was distracted from my work, and I believe she was also biding her time by making conversation and working inefficiently. Since I accomplished no work while she was there because she kept interrupting, I would've been better off cleaning my own place for free and done a more thorough job. She was a lovely girl and did a better job than the first two cleaners, but still not great enough for me to justify the money we spent. I have since switched to an independent cleaning person, and she is wonderful, efficient, thorough and goes above and beyond for the same price in half the time. I would never recommend MaidPro to anyone. They wasted my time, money and patience. read more

Scheduled Maid pro for what was going to be a monthly service for just a more thorough clean than I do to my home. On the first clean, things were missed, not even touched and floors barely even gone over with a mop, if at all. The bathroom and kitchen looked great, but that's it. Spoke with owner, had a re-clean by two different cleaners the next day. Still not great. Even had photos and sent to owner to prove that my expectations weren't too high, but it really wasn't a good job. They even left the 2 dishes I had in the sink and cleaned around them. I mean, seriously? Owner obviously agreed with the photos I sent because she did refund my fee for the clean, which surprised me, pleasantly. Not happy with the service, and wouldn't recommend BUT owner did try to resolve the situation and ultimately took care of the fee. read more
