We began using Green Clean Salem more than a year ago. We are extremely happy customers. Our routine cleanings are always terrific. We sought them out for being eco-conscious. Very friendly and hard working. Highly recommend! Note: I read the couple lower rated reviews. Since they seem to stem from 1st experiences I went back into my emails to review what expectations were set at the beginning. The owners Pricing and Policy email is so detailed and specific it leaves nothing to be misinterpreted. read more

I tried them out due to the reviews and just moving here. The two young ladies that were sent were very sweet. But. That was about the extent of the positive. The owner let herself into my house to check on the girls, said that the first cleaning was cash only (10 mins until they were finished), then left. I left to get them cash, and as I went to look at the job that was done, and I was incredibly disappointed. There was dust and paint chips all over the counters. The overhead hood of the stove was covered in gunk, the toilet bowl scrubber was left in the toilet, the bathtub was filled with sudsy cleaner, and the bath mats were left up. I contacted the owner regarding such, and I was advised that I had a great cleaning, per the UNAUTHORIZED pictures the girls took of a few things that they did scrub. Never. Again. Outrageous cost for disappointment. Here's another reason, as you can see, as PROOF, an argumentative response instead of finding an ideal resolution for all parties involved. Now she even changed the "time" that her employees attempted to clean the home. My HUSBAND and I work from home, and we're working the whole time. Not sure how we could possibly have made anyone uncomfortable while we were very busy working in our office. To even bring up the fact that my husband had to use the restroom is asinine. BLAMING us for her employees shortcomings. NOT ideal or professional as an owner of a business. read more

I have been having Midge clean my apartment since last year. She does an amazing job at cleaning my place and on the days I arrive at the house after she has been there it puts a smile on my face. She uses all organic and environmentally friendly cleaning products. If you have pets you definitely should consider her to clean your place. (think about it your pets are closer to the floor than you and most chemicals in cleaning products are dangerous to them!) Well think about you and your pet when it comes to cleaning products as well. So lets give her 5 cheers (ok STARS) to Midge and her fabulous company! read more

I started using Green Clean a few months ago, when life stuff got in the way of both of us even trying to keep our house even moderately not disgusting. I got in touch with Midge Lyon, the brains and brawn behind Green Clean and she got us in her schedule. Green Clean is very reasonable in price and I really do value the fact that all the cleaning supplies/materials are eco-friendly. Midge is easy to work with and very friendly and communicative- as well as being an AMAZING cleaner. She tackles places you don't even know you have, let alone knowing if they are dirty! Every time we come home after Midge has been here I am SO HAPPY and relaxed. We also have cats and she is very sweet and friendly with them. Also, her mad cleaning skillz and her crazy awesome vacuum cleaner make short work of all the cat hair everywhere in the house! She is also good to discuss an overall cleaning strategy with- she listens and provides her professional assessment. Employing a local small business owner is great, the fact that she uses eco-friendly products and practices is even better, and the fact that she's easy to work with, reliable, reasonable priced flexible, and an AWESOME AWESOME cleaner makes Midge and Green Clean a real jewel to have in the community. I am lucky to have found her! read more

The Cleaning was great. But unfortunately I can't give this a 5 star rating. I had never had my house cleaned before, which I told her. She wrote me an email telling me the hourly rate. What she forgot to mention was that rate would be multiplied by the number of girls who came. I was very upset that she wouldn't honor her agreement. You can't assume people know something. When you write something down that is your word. She never accepted responsibility and wouldn't even try and keep me as a customer. Sorry, I wouldn't use them again. I like my house clean but not the old bait and switch. And the girls were almost 40 minutes late. I never received an apology! read more

My husband decided to give me a gift this past year while I was pregnant with my second baby and experiencing such severe morning sickness that I was unable to clean my house! He had the Green Clean team come in once a week and take care of business! And boy did they ever, they left my house spotless and completely scent free! What a gift! Plus they use all natural cleaners which was a great concern for us because I have a toddler at home who pretty much licks the floors! HA! Best experience ever, we are so grateful! read more

I have never used a cleaning service before, and after a brief bit of research, I decided to try Green Clean. I have pets and I don't want them exposed to harsh chemicals, and I try to be environmentally conscious so it seemed the right choice to go with an environmentally friendly cleaning company. Also, I like to support a local business when I can. They handle intake and scheduling solely through email, but the owner responds quickly and is very helpful. Depending on your needs, it may take a week or two for her to find time to fit you in, but trust me it's worth it. The crew showed up exactly when they were supposed to, and they were friendly, professional, and nice to my pets. I left them to it. When I returned home later that day...WOW! It looked like a completely different home! Shiny floors, clean surfaces, spotless kitchen, stain-free stove, vacuumed and cleaned carpets, and the list goes on. They even cleaned the stainless steel knobs and handles on my cabinets, the fixtures in the shower and bathroom sink, and for good measure, they got the moldings, window sills, blinds, and pretty much anything you can think of. I always thought "spotless" was figurative. For Green Clean, it's literal. Best of all, the house smelled fresh but not with that "chemical" smell that harsh cleaners leave. Made me feel better about the safety of my pets. I was skeptical of a cleaning service since I tend to be hyper-attentive to cleaning, but I learned a thing or two about what "real" cleaning looks like! I can't wait for their next visit, and I expect to continue to use Green Clean for as long as I can. Prices are reasonable, and for the results, worth every dollar. read more

Midge and the Green Clean team are awesome! Super communicative, fairly-priced, timely and eco-friendly, they're everything I want in a cleaning company. I love coming home on the days that they've been here - it's spotless in our house and it makes my day. As a low-chemical/no-chemical, eco-concerned family, we wouldn't work with anyone else. read more

Just the absolute best. My place has been spotless since Midge started doing monthly cleanings for us, and there is never any weird chemical or solvent smell! She's a wizard and has been a delight to work with from day one. read more

They are a great service. The owner is regularly in communicate via email, telephone, or even written message if there are any concerns or problems. They come in and do a wonderful job. They are great for regular cleanings and make sure you get the best deal possible. I was very appreciative that once they established a routine for cleaning, they cut the price of cleaning. Kinda awesome :) read more

Midge and her team are FABULOUS. She is beyond friendly, and the cleaning services are truly top-notch -- not to mention thoroughly environmentally friendly. Wonderful and highly recommended!! read more

The Green Clean team has done an excellent job cleaning my home. I am very impressed with the attention to detail and the elbow grease these girls used to make my rooms sparkle. I love that they use eco-friendly products too. And they even ride the Green Clean bike-mobile instead of driving. Can it get any better? read more

I was referred to Midge by a friend and was very disappointed by the service we received. The pricing was high but because this was a personal reference it was going to be worth the cost. My townhouse was in reasonable condition we only have one child, no pets, and no smoking. We were very specific about the areas of concern being our two bathrooms, kitchen dining area and the livingroom carpet. What the two women completed in the 3 hours was well done but how much they completed was inadequate to say the least. One woman took an entire hour to clean a small half bathroom which was cleaned the week before. The same woman decided to wash a wall in a hallway for an hour which was not on the list and a complete waste of time and money. Also they decided to vacuum a bedroom which also was not on the list and not necessary. The women ran out of time and although they did a great job only completed 2/3 of my small kitchen. It might have helped that the younger woman stayed off her phone and was not texting or talking on the phone several times as witnessed by my husband who was home during the cleaning. Needless to say after 6 hours of cleaning (2 women, 3 hours each) I felt ripped off. They did not complete the job they were hired to do despite the fact that my husband redirected them once during the three hours they were there. When I clean I am very thorough but being a working mother I was hoping to out source this task once or twice a month. Since then I have tried two other cleaning companies both with more reasonable pricing, quality of work completed is equal to what these ladies did, and they were able to complete the list of areas to be cleaned and more in the 3 hour cleaning. If you are looking for cleaners look further than this company. You can purchase your own supplies of green products and leave them for the cleaners to use if that is a motivating factor for you. read more

Cheers to Midge, her bicycle and her mission. Midge is not your average mop swinger. She knows what she is doing, does it very well, and wants to save the world, too. She told me things about some scary chemicals in my yoga studio that made me change the way I'm thinking about "clean". Clean is the absence of dirt and germs, right? But in many cases, the dirt and germs are replaced by harsh toxic chemicals which does not seem like a worthy trade. Sucking in fumes and toxins after a cleaning? No way. Midge will not only clean up your space but she can talk to you about how you can maintain a safe envioronment going forward. And it's not hard, and it does not need to be expensive and exotic. She gives consultations that are worth every penny. You will save your health, is that worth it? Midge is thorough, meticulous, honest, and quite charming and fun also. Did you know she turned the folks at Winer Brothers on to the Bona mop? Now ditch your Swiffer and investigate the Bona online, then go to Winer Brothers and get one. It makes so much more sense and I love mine. But I digress, kinda. So, in conclusion, Midge is the rock star of green cleaning world, she is totally awesome and her company is fabulous, and don't just sit here gawking at my Yelp review, go call Green Clean and get your sparkle on. Peace! read more

Green Clean is amazing! I came back to a sparkling house. They got every speck of dust, got my stovetop looking factory-fresh, and even cleaned the gross plunger in my bathroom sink (!). Midge and her team were a delight to work with--highly recommend. read more

Amateur cleaners. They were too slow and spent way too much time chit chatting and checking their phones. Geez, and I'm paying hourly rates for this? The owner was plain rude and obnoxious. Don't disagree with her or you'll quickly see what I'm saying. Never again will I be using their "services" again. read more

I love Green Clean for so many reasons: their environmental approach, their trustworthiness, their thoroughness, and their pricing. But probably what I appreciate most is how responsive and professional Midge is. It's great to know that she is so on top of things, communicative, and friendly to boot. Overall, it's a great service, and would make a FANTASTIC gift for an overworked mom, sick friend, or anyone else that could use a little help. read more

We have set up a cleaning every four weeks and it is great! All the little things (and the big) are cleaned well and the best part is we don't have to do it! The deep clean they do to start off is great, my in laws were surprised that kitchen cabinets were opened and cleaned, just an example of their detail. The price seems reasonable and they take their time. Midge, the owner, communicates very well via email, fielding my (many) questions when we were setting up the service. If you've been hoping to get some help cleaning your house, get in touch and you'll be happy! read more

Whenever I come home after Clean Green have cleaned my condo I'm filled with a sense of happiness and peace. I find Midge's passion infectious and inspiring. 5 stars and two thumbs way up. Thank you Clean Green! read more

I'd never hired a house cleaner before, but recently got the common areas of my apartment "Green-Cleaned" before subletting out my room. The kitchen and bathtub were spotless afterwards, all without the use of harmful chemicals. In the end, the second person to look at the room took it. The rates were very reasonable, too, so the whole experience definitely paid off. read more

Edit: The initial cleaning cost was over 2x what I reasonably expected based on initial correspondence for four regular-sized rooms. I measured each room and answered all of their initial questions carefully and accurately. They had to return a second day to complete the initial cleaning. The second day, I was at work and had forgotten to remind someone in my household. He was apparently grumpy when they showed up (he's elderly & recovering from a stroke). (Edit: I did not call him a "grumpy curmudgeon". I said "he can be curmudgeonly & grumpy at times to some folks". Xxxxx denied doing or saying anything unkind or rude). So after I paid Green Clean, Midge informed me that they would never be back because she didn't want to be around that kind of energy. I added a star because they did use non-fragranced and non-toxic cleaning chemicals. As a heads-up, be prepared to walk on eggshells if you hire this company. Edit: This has just been particularly frustrating that I did nothing wrong as a customer, paid promptly, was friendly and appreciative. I wasn't told there was an issue on the 2nd visit until I had paid. And as a caregiver who works full-time-plus and has other responsibilities (this is why I decided to hire a cleaning company), I have to now find a new company or house cleaner. read more
