Finding good food while driving across the country can be challenging, especially for two vegetarians. We found Mai Thai on Yelp, called in our order, and picked it up and ate in the car on our way from California to Washington. The food was amazing, the green curry was that perfect slow kind of spicy, my partner's Pad Thai was delicious and the portions were HUGE. We ordered four dishes between three people, and ate Thai food for two days. One entree is more than enough to feed two people. The prices were excellent. If I lived near this place, it would be my first stop for delicious Thai food. The ambiance is nothing to write home about, however, so I'd advise taking your food to go. read more

Been a while since my first review but I decided to go here again with a friend because the food was excellent the first time I went here. Things must have really gone down hill since then. The food is real good here as well as the service, but the salad rolls are a no go for me. For one they were $9.00, but were served with shrimp. The negatives is they we're rolled with iceberg lettuce and carrots oh and maybe some avocado. They are worst salad rolls i have had in sometime. Did not come w/peanut sauce and just super disappointing. They are my favorite thing that are so simple To be made to be delicious so this makes the food less great. I've been there for lunch twice - first time the food seemed a bit too mild, but then I didn't ask for it any special way, and this is after all Southern Oregon where white folks tend to like their hot lite. Their food was slightly above average...but like one of the other reviewers here, I like my Thai food spicy and my dish lacked the full flavor I'm used to. Love this place. Although "real" Thai doesn't exist in Medford, this comes close and everything I've had here is very good, and attractively presented. The outside looks run down and shabby, but the inside is ok and the staff are super nice. It's my favorite Thai place around here. read more

My wife and I went here for our anniversary on a whim. I thought that the place was terrific. It is kind of small, but the atmosphere is great. The food and service were wonderful. The couple that owns the place made my wife and I feel welcome from the time we entered until the time that we left. Authentic, fresh Thai food made to order. No dish is pre cooked which explains the wait being a little longer than a normal restaurant even when they are slow. The wait is well worth it. I recommend the pork Phad Gra Tien made "a little spicy" which has a pretty good kick to it. read more

First, it shouldn't take an hour for lunch if there are only two other people in the place (and, they were loudly complaining about how long it was taking to get their food). You know what? The wait time was inexcusable. But, the poor quality of the food only added insult to injury: the Phad Thai was awful (greasy, bland and overcooked shrimp), Chicken Satay (overcooked/tough chicken with a nasty peanut sauce that had a layer of oil floating on it accompanied by a bowl of vinegar/chili icky liquid that had a few slivers of limp cucumber floating in it), and an order of fresh spring rolls that finally arrived thirty minutes after I ordered them (wow, does it really take that long to put cold ingredients together on a wrap and get them to the table? Oh, and it would have been nice if two of them weren't split open down the sides when they arrived.) I told the waitress I wasn't happy about the Phad Thai and that the shrimp were way overcooked. She turned and went to the kitchen, said something in Thai to the cook and then they laughed. Too bad, guess she didn't need my tip or my business... read more

My family go to Mai Thai every week as a ritual . We have taken lots of friends there too.The food is always amazing, the veggies fresh, the amount of 'spicy' personalized to your preference. This isnt thai food if you've ever had it. There's no vegetables, the food is bland and uses hardly any spices. The curry was a joke. The thai iced tea was sickeningly sweet. I stopped here on a road trip after backpacking for 3 days and was hoping for a good meal. I was horribly disappointed. The service was horrible lacking. Only reason I would give it even a 1 was because the food tasted decent, service was horrible paid way to much for our "meal." Got charged for food we didn't receive and mentioned it to the waitress and all she said was she didn't understand and "oh well, next time" there will not be a next time for me. Not only did we not receive our full meal she didn't check on us when we were the only ones eating in, but she was sitting at the table filling her nails the entire time we were eating, didn't bring us our bill either.
