Nice to find fresh seafood close to home. A surprise deal in gift cards solved a Christmas gift…read moredilemma late in December. This place reminds me of the fish houses in Reedsport, minus the salt air and seagulls. Servers were patient as we perused the extensive menu, and attentive after we ordered. The bar had more ambience than the main room with rows of white tables. Trying to avoid bibs and a brown meal, I opted to try both the cod and shrimp tacos. Note to self: ask chef to skip finishing salt, as I had more than my usual 'restaurant water weight' the next day. The extra-thick napkins -as every woman knows-are worth keeping in purse or car if you aren't a particularly messy diner. {can I buy some?} I'd read about the marinara (East Coast style) as shellfish sauce; my partner thought it was ok, while I would have preferred the traditional cioppino broth or the white wine scampi broth that my sister raved about. Her mussels really should have included bread instead of just a spoon so as not to waste that broth. In a second visit, appetizers (including the won ton poke tacos) and a beer left no room for dessert. My partner spent his GC on 4 2# Dungeness Crab, which were cleaning thoroughly and steamed to perfection- Great feasting to start the new year. Will definitely check out the patio when warmer weather returns.

I ordered the smorgasbord and the crunch was perfect, it was all really flavorful, and the fries amd mac salad are amazing. We also got the burger basket, it was equally as flavorful and the bun was so soft. So much food, at such a great price, and nowhere else is the Rogue Valley will you find fried chicken like this. We have lacked a good fried option for a really long time, now we have a 5 star option. Thank you Freddy, we will be back (regularly)

Well, folks, I finally stopped at Freddie Lee's Seafood and Smorgasbord! I'm so glad I did. I met Freddie Dunbar and I asked him what everyone loves, so he made me shrimp! I got the five piece, and it came with a pile of amazingly seasoned fries and some homemade Cole slaw. He also gave me some hot sauce (it's like he knew me!) and his homemade dipping sauce. Oh man, all of it was so delicious! While nothing NEEDED to be dipped, the sauce was too good not to be used. I saw a fish sandwich on his page and it looks MOUTH WATERING. And you best believe I'm coming back to try that chicken. (As you can see I've been back for the chicken) Here's another experience of mine at Freddie's- Oh man. Freddie has spoiled me! I'll never eat at KFC again. You could seriously sell the skin off this chicken for loads of money! The flavor is amazing! The chicken was so tender and juicy, I didn't even use sauce! The coleslaw always hits the spot, but there's something about the mac salad that has me hooked. It's almost like he mixes the cooked egg yolks in. So delicious! Thanks for the fuel for the rest of the day Freddie Lee's Seafood Smorgasbord!

My flounder dish was unforgettable, though I can't recall the exact accompaniments. The fish was drizzled with a delicious soy-based broth, and both my husband and I agreed it was the standout dish of the night. We also tried the fried pork belly (no photo) and passion fruit panna cotta! This panna cotta was unlike any I've ever had--absolutely delicious! Highly recommended, 10 out of 10!

When I asked for a red wine glass, server says "but I brought the glass they gave me at the bar." A few minutes later, a red wine glass is slammed on the table. No removal and re-pour. * At end of meal, a different server appears and asks how everything was. We made honest compliments about excellent food, and when I added "Sorry to be fussy about the wine glass, but it makes a huge difference to me," server says "Hey, we'd give you a sippy-cup if that's what you wanted." We'll find other places to eat in the future.

A common complaint in Southern Oregon is the lack of great Chinese restaurants, and we're lucky for…read moreDragon Express to put those critics to rest. Now that we've had the opportunity to visit multiple times, I feel we can make a fair assessment of the overall menu, and Dragon Express is the emperor of Chinese food in the area. With a large menu that includes classic American Chinese options in addition to more authentic fare, this restaurant can be a crowd pleaser for a range of preferences. If you want to go with stateside standbys of orange chicken or broccoli beef, you can't go wrong. The dim sum offerings are solid: xiao long bao (soup dumplings), har gao (shrimp dumpling) or siu mai (mixed dumpling) are what you'd expect and will please the table. If you're feeling more adventurous or are banging on the table for 'authentic' options, there is a submenu for such a palate. I am semi-addicted to their La Tzi Chicken, which is like a peppercorn/chili infused and topped chicken plate. Strangely on the menu, it has no 'hot pepper' indicator, but trust me, it's more like 3 peppers. If you are a pepper belly like me, this is a great one, but otherwise, go tamer. Service always seems a bit slammed, but they do a solid job. It's probably because everyone is starting to discover this place. Takeout is a brisk business on top of the dine-in crowd. The ambience is a little meh, but that's what you get with a chinese restaurant built inside an old Bobbio's pizza location. This place is worth the drive for me. And yes, there are robots that assist in the service.

The restaurant was relatively busy and maybe they had online orders as well, it seemed our fried rice might've been forgotten and it was brought out sometime after we asked about it. We heard a bunch of tables around us also had forgotten and/or late orders. Might've been an extra busy night for them. I think the fried rice would be yummier if it had that wok hay char aroma. For southern Oregon, it's a 4. If it weren't in a small town, it would be more like a 3ish

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a cozy little restaurant inside with a lot of cool pictures from the early 1900s. I wish I would have taken pictures of the decor but it was a long day of driving and I didn't think about it. All the food was really good. My husband had a French dip, my daughter got a cheeseburger, and I went with the chicken quesadilla. The avocado didn't work for me but being a California girl, I get it. My daughter's French fries were the absolute best restaurant fries I've had in a loooong time. My husband enjoyed a local beer and I went with my standard white Russian, which was nice and strong. They had a really interesting cocktail menu, but I wasn't feeling adventurous there. As for service, outstanding. Our server was so friendly, attentive, and helpful with all of our questions and requests. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for future road trips now that we will be driving though from time to time! I tried to add more pictures but they don't seem to be uploading ‍

Fresh squeezed lemons and fresh crushed raspberries. Our server was such a sweetheart and made sure we had everything we needed. I got the Parmesan with chicken, my husband got the NY strip pasta, we both had Cesar salads. Probably the best cesar salad I have ever had. Sauce was creamy and garlicky, seemed homemade. My chicken was perfectly breaded, flavorful (seemed homemade) marinara sauce, and fresh mozzarella! My husband said his NY strip was tender and the horseradish sauce, when paired with the Gorgonzola, was a wonderful combination of flavors. Would recommend this to anyone coming to town.
