It's a small cute place upstairs. My partner and I bought the Groupon together; she did both manicure and pedicure and I did pedicure. They only have one nail technician, Lisa, who's a super friendly and funny lady! My partner was very satisfied with her service and she was very attentive to her needs. On the other hand, this is like my second pedicure that I got in my life so I don't really have much opinion to it. Even though I wish the foot massage could be a bit longer, I am very happy with my nails. What strike me the most was when I was putting on their little slippers (I forgot and wore shoes), I had no idea how to put it on. Lisa saw me struggle and offered to put it on for me, but I accidentally smudged a bit on two toes. She came back with the nail polish right away to fix it. Such a sweet lady! I had come across this place when i was on Groupon, the deal (sounded) amazing, a gel manicure and a deluxe pedicure for $32 i believe. I saw no reason to miss it because I myself, being a college student, was trying to find a way to save money. This place is not ur ordinary nail salon, it's a one on one session. One technician does ur nails and toes. So i walked in and it was super cute, it's true, they only have one salon chair in the corner. The technician was nice, her name was Lisa, but the overall experience was not so great. She began with my toes, the utensils she used were not prepackaged like other nail salons. Which only means she uses the same ones for each client. (i honestly don't know if they were cleaned). Anyways she proceeds with the deluxe pedicure. At the time another lady had come in waiting for Mai, she begins to put on face creams that are labeled "testers". Lisa was so focused on her and what she was doing and not focused on her client (me), she wanted me to see what she was seeing as she signaled me to look... So what? aren't testers supposed to be tested..? I saw nothing deluxe about this pedicure, other than the fact that she put on a mud mask on my feet (2 min max) and a sugar scrub. At the end of pedicure, i realized that i did not even receive a massage.. I mean, doesn't every pedicure come w/ a massage? literally two seconds after she put the nail polish on my toes she asked me to move right away to the table to do my manicure. I could not even relax for at least five minutes while my toes dried. Out of the whole experience my manicure was the worst. I had chosen a color in the beginning but then proceeds to ask "are you sure you want this color it's so bright". Um.. if a client chooses a color, let them stick with it, why would you question their choice, it's not your nails. Anyways, out of stupidity, i changed my mind to a gray color which i regret. Mind you that i did not receive a massage EITHER for my hands. I was already pissed at the way she took care of my pedicure that i didn't want to say anything. I left this whole in the wall place unhappy. I would love to get my money back or at least half of it because my toes, surprisingly, turned out fine. The lady at this place strikes good conversation and seems nice to me. When I went there at around 4 pm I was the only one so it was quite and they have only one chair for pedicure and there is only one lady. Now first I ll talk about the cons: no plastic sheet on the basin and the message chair hardly works. Pros: you get personalized treatment since you are the only one there. You can tell her how you want things and she would consider that. She painted my nails well and I took the deluxe pedicure from group on so she did message my feet with scrub and later did put some mask. One of the best choices I've made for my face is going to Mai's Place for my facials. Prior to my first appointment with Mai, my face was horrendous. I was breaking out all over and nothing I used or did made it better. My acne prone skin made me very insecure and stressed, which made my breakout worst.
