Unfortunately, that just wasn't my experience. I went in for a brow lamination and shaping and explained that I wasn't into the super thick, trendy brow look. I wanted something more natural and balanced. After the lamination process, she started shaping my brows and when she showed me the results, I immediately noticed they looked uneven and lacked symmetry and thicker than I had wanted. I mentioned it to her and asked if she could correct them a bit, and while she did try, they still didn't look right to me afterward but I paid and left. I felt I could shape them better at home myself. The friend I had brought with me pointed out that they looked different from each other. Individually, they weren't terrible, but together, they just didn't look balanced or well-shaped as a pair. Don't get me wrong I wasn't expecting perfect symmetry because brows are naturally sisters, not twins, but for a $150 service from someone with such a strong reputation, I did expect more attention to overall shape and balance. What disappointed me the most was what happened over the next few days. My brow hairs stayed extremely dry, stiff, and brittle well past the normal timeframe. By day three, they still felt very dry and I started noticing actual breakage and kinking in the hairs. After researching it online, it really seemed like my brows were overprocessed. I reached out to her because I understand mistakes happen and everyone can have an off day. I simply wanted to let her know what was happening and hoped she would at least respond or offer some help. Unfortunately, I never heard back from her at all, and honestly that part spoke volumes to me. I truly don't understand how so many people had such amazing experiences while mine was so disappointing, but this was genuinely my experience and I wanted to share it honestly.

The session began with a detailed skin analysis to identify pigmentation, sensitivity, and other areas of concern. From there, she took me through several stages of cleansing, steam, treatments, and extractions. I had a stubborn clogged spot under my skin that had been there for almost three months, and Kathy was finally able to extract it. Four days later, the area is completely healed and the mark is barely visible. She followed the extraction with a tea tree gel to help cleanse and soothe the area, along with other products that left my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. The entire hour was incredibly relaxing. Between the music, the rainy Pasadena weather, and Kathy's technique, I even warned her that I might start snoring because I was beginning to fall asleep. I enjoyed the experience so much that I purchased a five-session package before leaving. Their promotion also included two products used during the facial--a pumpkin mask and tea tree gel--which was a great bonus. The shape was also much thinner and more uniform than I wanted. Now I have to wait for them to grow back. I understand there can be a disconnect with brow shaping, but I feel like I was very clear with Destiny about what I wanted. Now I have to wait for them to grow back. Overall 1/10 experience.

I then started going to Wax Candy and while they would get all the hair, they would also leave behind a lot of wax, which is simply annoying. Nobody wants to drive home feeling like they're sticking to parts of their car. I had a simply lovely experience at Arigato Beauty; the gal who did my waxing was very professional, easy to talk to, and gave me my first bikini wax! She ended each section with olive oil and then aloe, which was absolutely delightful. I will definitely be back.
