I have had three different primary care doctors over about 20 years, and all three have recommended Dr Venkatesh as the best specialist for all things gastrointestinal. There are other doctors in his office as well, and I assume they are also competent or he wouldn't have them around. But he's the Big Dog. He's always moving fast, but as long as you have questions for him he stays and answers them. I don't know how much longer he will practice, but as long as he does he's my gastroenterologist.

He was surprised when I stated I didn't know why I was there. I had colon Cancer! I never received a call from Dr. Mann or his office. There was no follow up. They claim they can't list me by my actual first name, because it's abbreviated on my insurance card. My insurance knows it's abbreviated and they have my full legal name. And even if their system is that complicated, there's no preferred name option? Really? So they will refer to me as a single letter instead of my actual name. I've never run into this problem before at a medical provider office and I've been to many using the same insurance card. Imagine being taken back to have a procedure done under anesthesia and the assistant you've never met tries to greet you but doesn't know what to call you because your name is missing on your paperwork, and it's just a letter. Imagine they try to call your driver back after you're done, and they don't know what to announce. Imagine you get texts after your procedure, referring to you as a single letter instead of your first name. That's exactly what happened, and I was really surprised. It's poor customer service. It creates confusion and discomfort when you're already in a vulnerable position. I work at a medical office and I can't imagine treating a patient like that. It's such a basic standard to call people by their name. I let the office know my concern and they said they can't do anything about it. I'll go elsewhere next time.

And got a call from a collection agency and they are trying to collect the amount. Call doctor office back and told them and they said they would have someone investigate it and get back to me. Looks like I might have to file a complaint with the AZ attorney general office that they are trying to extort money from me. My insurance company said that I do not own them anything. And Esther told me not to pay the correct amount until they have rebilled it yet, despite their assurances that I won't continue to be harassed about clearing my balance, I continue to receive messages to pay the incorrect balance. I've even left a couple of voicemail messages with the 'Operations Manager' with no return phone call. I had no such problems with Southeast Valley Gastroenterology, but had to find a provider that accepts my new Medicare Advantage plan, so I switched to Sonoran Gastro. The sad thing is that I really like Dr. Chilicurry, but I can't continue to do business with an organization that is too inept to fix a simple billing error.

He had me go off coconut oil for a few weeks to see if that was causing the tightness in my gut. Yep, it's gone. My daughter had migraines for over 10 years. Went to doctor after doctor and test after test. Nobody was able to help her. One visit to Doctor Anderson and she is migraine free for a few years now. She lives out of state and can't wait to get back in to see him. Dr. Anderson will always be our Functional Doctor.
