They claim they can't list me by my actual first name, because it's abbreviated on my insurance card. My insurance knows it's abbreviated and they have my full legal name. And even if their system is that complicated, there's no preferred name option? Really? So they will refer to me as a single letter instead of my actual name. I've never run into this problem before at a medical provider office and I've been to many using the same insurance card. Imagine being taken back to have a procedure done under anesthesia and the assistant you've never met tries to greet you but doesn't know what to call you because your name is missing on your paperwork, and it's just a letter. Imagine they try to call your driver back after you're done, and they don't know what to announce. Imagine you get texts after your procedure, referring to you as a single letter instead of your first name. That's exactly what happened, and I was really surprised. It's poor customer service. It creates confusion and discomfort when you're already in a vulnerable position. I work at a medical office and I can't imagine treating a patient like that. It's such a basic standard to call people by their name. I let the office know my concern and they said they can't do anything about it. I'll go elsewhere next time.

And got a call from a collection agency and they are trying to collect the amount. Call doctor office back and told them and they said they would have someone investigate it and get back to me. Looks like I might have to file a complaint with the AZ attorney general office that they are trying to extort money from me. My insurance company said that I do not own them anything. Stay away from them unless you want trouble.

I am…read morecurrently working with Dr. Kohsla on figuring out some gastro-related issues and I feel his office and staff have been pretty responsive. The only thing that is aggravating is that it's hard to schedule appointments for things like follow-ups. It seems they're very busy and can't fit people in for follow-ups. Dr. Kohsla's medical assistant, Zoe, is super responsive, however and they're able to still provide treatment and recommendations without having an appointment, which is nice. Another challenge I'm having is regarding the facility fee they charge. When I showed up for my procedure in June I was asked to pay $145.50 and when I asked what it was for, it was explained to me that it was coinsurance for the procedure and that the amount would be deducted off of anything else I could potentially owe. This was misinformation and the amount I was charged was for the facility fee, not coinsurance. The facility never sent this to my insurance so it's not reflecting in my deductible or my out-of-pocket max and trying to get this resolved with the facility has been EXTREMELY difficult. They won't return my insurance company's calls and when I asked for an itemized bill to file the claim myself, they sent some bogus document over that my insurance company won't accept. It has been four months of back and forth with no resolution. They seem to think I'm disputing the facility fee, which isn't the case, I just want the amount to reflect in my out-of-pocket max/deductible. Navigating the American healthcare system is always challenging. The doctor's billing company also made an error and coded my procedure incorrectly, which caused a huge problem with my insurance company that took months to fix. Overall, I felt like the doctor and staff were very compassionate and did good work. I think Dr. Kohsla knows what he's doing and is a doctor I can trust. I am also very impressed with his medical assistant, Zoe. I just wish they had more availability for existing patients and a more responsive and accurate billing system. If they nailed those areas, this would be a 5-star review.

According to every site I've checked (Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, NIH etc.) that polyp COULD have and SHOULD have been removed. Furthermore, he told me the day of that he was going to refer me to a colorectal surgeon to deal with the polyp HE should've taken out... and here it is 19 days later and I still haven't heard a word from him or his practice. Can't give less than one star but I would if I could.

After a colonoscopy, it was determined I had stage 3 cancer. I was then referred to an oncology group and now cancer free. If Dr Mahajani didn't take my symptoms seriously (like other doctors might have done), things might have ended very different. I know most people dont take the time to leave positive reviews but I want everyone to know, Dr Mahajani is truly the best. Sincere thanks,,, always. I hope his staff and the Dr. sees this post!

I left my first and only apt on Aug 29th feeling really lucky to find him. Now fast forward to Oct 2 I have had bloodwork and a ct scan done with absolutely no communication about any of my tests results. I even sent emails making sure they got results. Was told he did get my blood tests back and was waiting on ct scan and I would be contacted. Well all results have been in for weeks now and nothing. My blood results said inconclusive and retest in 3 to 6 months. But I am unsure if that is needed or not. So I'm still in pain, no results and now having some bleeding. But feel like with no communication I'm stuck trying to find someone else or just live with it until I have to go to the er. Just upsetting. Not a place I'd recommend at all. Sad thing is I do think he's a good dr as far as knowledge but for me that's it. Basic care requires communication and that was a zero for me. Left this exact review on a google a week ago no one ever cared to respond or give me my test results. Mind blown honestly!
