Great meal in France!…read more This was a fantastic first dinner in Nice right off the main drag. We had reservation for 7pm and arrived a few minutes early. We waited a few minutes while they prepped our table and we were seated promptly. The vibe was cool, very French cafe feeling on the streets. The waiters were kind and attentive was you settled in. They patiently answered all our menu questions. We ordered the fois gras (because when in France), the duck and the octopus. All the food was excellent, the fois gras was perfect (although probably wouldn't order it again for ethical reasons). The octopus was absolutely perfect, very very easy to screw up, but they nailed it; every bit melting in our mouths. The duck breast was perfect, juicy and cooked to perfect. All the dishes were served with plenty of accompaniment. Great meal for a great French experience. Would highly recommend.

It happened to be happy hour so I was able to take advantage of some great drink deals. For my dinner, I ordered the duck with vegetables, potatoes, and added a side of ratatouille. It was all very good and the portions were large for the price. The orange sauce was unique and it seemed to have orange peels in it as well. While this might be more of a touristy spot with this location, it was a true French menu, which was my goal. The food and service were very good and I'll come back.

We were told all tables inside were reserved, however there appeared to be 3-4 two-top tables that were not occupied. We had to request a wine menu upon being seated. We ordered quickly and the food was fine! Having spent 5 days in Nice, there were other restaurants we visited with much friendlier and attentive service. That being said, the entrees were ok! If we were to visit Nice again, I would likely opt for a different dining experience.

How could you eat here and not give it 5 stars?…read more We walked by earlier this week and saw this place received a Michelin awards a few years in a row. We have no restaurants in philly that have that. So we made reservations. Before anything started they brought us out small shot glasses of asparagus soup with tiny spoons. It was gone. Quickly but man was it good. Menu is just a chalkboard the carry from table to table. Guess that means it's just always changing. We got three starters. Duck liver, something egg and the tuna tartare. I tried all of them and they were spectacular. Even the liver which I do not generally like. The break basket just keeps getting refilled all night long. So don't worry about leaving hungry. For my main meal I got the fresh lobster linguini. Let me tell you.... I was never a huge fan of lobster but my mom grew up in Maine so I've reintroduced myself to it these past few years. Maybe I just grew up eating sh*t Lobster. When prepared right it can really knock your socks off. For desert I got the Nice Coffee. This was espresso, lemon sorbet and a cookie. A really great combination. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. It can be hard when you don't speak any French! Perfect noise level. I don't think any music was playing. I 408 euros for 4 people. There was a bottle of wine and mixed drinks in there too. So I don't think that's terrible.

Prices were reasonable for the area and service was good albeit on the slower side. Reservations do not guarantee a seat indoors and we were first seated outdoors and was next to a table that was chain smoking which was not enjoyable. Luckily a few tables inside finished and we asked to move indoors which they accommodated. I really do like their food and would be interested in trying the rest of the menu next time.

We had the "first adventure" dinner menu and were absolutely stuffed by the end - definitely did not have room for more. Loved the finger foods at the beginning and the Tokyo inspired fish course with dashi beurre blanc. We thought the walk by the sea desserts were so cleverly done and well presented. Drinks wise, we had the Rouge and sesame dore. They do offer drink pairings but we opted out. There is also a nice wine list to choose from. This is going to be a difficult meal to top!

The seating is in this beautiful courtyard with stone and greenery surrounding it. The menus were placed around every table, written in chalk but they had an option to use a QR code to look at the options with pictures. We started off the night eating the octopus that was pan seared and served in a lemony, herb sauce. It was at this time, my eyes rolled to the back of my head! So good!! I also ordered the scallop risotto with Parmesan and truffles. Omg! It almost had this floral taste to it, but I'm guessing that was all the truffles? Either way it was mouth watering and I would 100% come back. The service was great, we were sat right away and our waiter helped us with choosing options that were the best for us. 10/10 experience!

It is such a discreet restaurant with no website and very little social media presence. Plus it is only open two hours each evening and closed on Wednesdays which peaked our curiosity even more. They bring you several starters to begin the experience. Everything tasted very good and seemed unique to their restaurant and French cuisine. For dinner, I ordered the spaghetti in ink with cod, spicy salami, and asparagus. My husband ordered the French veal medallions with seasonal chanterelles, avocado, and spring onion. The portion size is perfect and was so delicious we both scraped our plates clean! For dessert, we shared the Panettone with semi-salted caramel ice cream and the raspberry coulis sorbet filled donut. I cannot recommend this place enough. The service was also lovely and we even met Chef Maryan Gandon on our way out. The restaurant has a cozy vibe and we learned that the regulars even have their own special mailboxes that are hung around the restaurant, which would definitely be a goal of ours if we lived in Nice!

The restaurant interior is clearly the product of a love of food and dining. The walls are decorated with cookbooks, artful dishes and stoneware, and various cooking implements - all artwork. Like the interior itself, the brief but curated menu is a thoughtful curation of flavors and ingredients bringing disparate flavors and textures together into a cohesive dish. Meals start with a series of simple but delicious starters before moving onto one of four We started our meal with a tower of small bites including crisp vegetables with a soft cheese spread, rich parmesan slices, smoky baba ghanoush, refreshing gazpacho, and truly the most delicious egg I've ever eaten. My wife and I then tried the cod on black spaghetti and duck-stuffed shells - each plate perfectly coordinating flavors and textures to make a truly unique dish. We ended our meal with the tiramisu and beignet filled with raspberry sorbet. Beyond the outstanding food, service was quick and efficient but at no point did we feel rushed. Speaking with the chef and waitstaff, it was clear everyone had a true passion for food. It was one those dining experiences that makes you excited to eat.

We arrived when it opened with reservations at 7 pm. Nobody came to see us for 40 minutes even though a group of waiters were standing and talking to each other. I asked them if any was our waiter and a man named naive said he was. I asked why he wasn't waiting on us and he didn't respond. I told him on the way over to our table that he was not doing a good job. That he shouldn't be standing around talking while customers were waiting. He said I was being "curt". I asked to see the manager and a very young guy came out in a tee shirt. WhenI explained the issue he said he would assign a new waitress. She came out promptly and took our drink order and I thought all would be well. I am not going to write all the details. but when we finally got our meals it was disappointing. I had to chase the new waitress to pay the bill before we received the dessert we paid for. There were a lot go people there so maybe our experience was not typical.
