I left home without being able to get threaded before a flight so the quest was on the find a place in Charlotte. After reading many reviews and looking a photos I found Magni brows. I setup a same day appointment online and hoped for the best. Magni brows is located within a secured Salon suite. I love that! We have the same concept at home and it keeps everyone safe. I buzzed the suite and was promptly let in and greeted. Vanna is so welcoming. She is kind and friendly and we had a great conversation while she did my brows to perfection. Her threading was so gentle. My skin was not tugged but the hairs were effectively removed. I wish she could do my brows everytime! But she definitely will anytime I'm in Charlotte! Vanna is the best eyebrow threading artist (truly an artist) that I've been to. And I've been to *a lot* of eyebrow threading places. Coming from LA where it seems there are threading places on every block, Magni Brows was one of maybe two places in Madison that did threading that looked good. I wasn't sure what the standard was because threading is not very popular here (although it should be - it's much better for your skin than waxing and that's what I need for my sensitive skin). I met Vanna as she was walking into her space (I arrived early and there's a nice waiting room area in the building outside her office). My appointment was the first of the day at 11 AM. She walked in and apologized for being late; I didn't realize she was late so I checked the time - it was 10:59. Immediately I knew she was a solid professional when she apologized for being late when she was actually a minute early. Clearly punctuality is her norm. I told her exactly what I wanted - cleaned up brows, keep as much thickness as possible, a bit of an arch and try to make them even because my left eyebrow is a touch higher than my right. And she did everything I asked perfectly. She's been doing this since she was 8 (I asked her) and you can tell. Vanna is truly a lovely person with enviable talent. It has been a solid four months since I've gotten my eyebrows threaded, and I can't say that I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at Magni Brows. This is only the third or fourth salon I've ever been to for an eyebrow threading and this was by far, the most pleasant experience that I've ever had. I purchased a Groupon online, and then came in for a walk-in appointment this afternoon. Parking is plentiful and shouldn't be a problem, and you have to enter from a side door near the barbershop, walking past other salons before reaching Magni Brows. The owner, Vanna, is extremely kind and has gentle hands. In the past, I would feel myself wincing every time you feel that slight ripping sensation against my eyebrows, but this threading felt no more painful than tweezing one's own eyebrows. After the threading was complete, she put some aloe on the skin around the eyebrows to cool the area, and I have to say, when I returned to my car, I took a minute to admire how good of a job she did, because my eyebrows are on FLEEK. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Madison area looking to get their eyebrows threaded and I will most definitely be back! read more
