She threatened to sue me if I left a review but everyone needs to know the truth...
When I first got my eyebrows micro-bladed by Opulence Brows and Beauty, I was very pleased with the overall experience. I was suggesting her to everyone and was very happy with the service. I had purchased the larger package which included the costs for my first touch-up service through Groupon originally but she encouraged me to refund it from Groupon and purchase it through her directly. Understanding that maybe Groupon takes a lot of fees out, I happily and willingly did so.
When October rolled around, a few months after my initial appointment, I remembered being told I needed a touch up sometime between September and October. So I looked to schedule an appointment and she was fully booked until January 2020. So, just to double-check, I reached out to ask if there was anything available before then.
When I did, that's when she informed me I'd have to pay an additional $75 for a touch-up even though I had already paid for the touch-up originally. So, being understandably frustrated and disappointed, I asked if she could make something work since I, honest to God, don't remember being told anything about having an expiration date on my pre-purchased touch-up service as we skimmed through a whole lot of paperwork during my appointment.
Instead of trying to work with me or offer a compromise or alternative solution, she got mad.
I said if she didn't work with me that I would warn everyone else since I feel like it's pretty unfair especially since I didn't get reminder emails or a text or anything, even though leading up to your first appointment you get both emails and texts reminding you of your appointment. At this point, it wasn't about the $75, but rather the fact that I felt jipped.
Her response was a pretty nasty email saying she won't deal with "dishonest people like you" and said she alerted her attorney. She then proceeded to say that if she saw me post anywhere about this, that she would sue me.
I can only imagine how many other women and men have been threatened with a lawsuit if they left a bad review, leaving them scared and not knowing that realistically, it would be a weak or non-existent case.
So do what you will, but my big warning to you is to only buy one service at a time if you do business with her. Do not purchase the package deal and be very aware.
I gave her two-stars because I do like the work she had originally done, but I am thoroughly disappointed and frustrated with how the situation was handled.
If she had simply responded politely saying that I had signed documentation stating that I acknowledge an expiration date on my pre-purchased service and that she cannot offer me the service I had purchased anymore, sure I would've still be frustrated but I would have moved on with my life.
Instead, she took to scare tactics. So please beware and don't make the same mistake I did and just buy one service at a time if you do go to her business. read more
