Highly recommend. I took the Magnetic Storytelling bootcamp and loved it. If you're nervous-- don't be. Our excellent trainer Giles took the group through a series of low risk exercises that had us telling brief stories about our lives and/or work. He then provided simple structures and pinpointed a few things (different for each of us) that gave our talks more charge, clarity and power. These exercises are devised with thought and sensitivity to connect you more deeply with your own voice. (Entirely centered around YOU and your particular needs.) I have always wanted to practice my public speaking and presentation skills as nervousness emits from my every being whenever I have to speak to a group larger than three people. My girlfriend took me to one of the free weekly classes where Rahul gave us a lesson based on the storytelling module. From the introductory exercises to the focused teaching of the day, I felt like I learned so much in one hour. To ensure that this was not a one time experience, I attended another hour-long class. I took the virtual messaging bootcamp because I need to do a lot of presentations at work and sometimes have trouble organizing my thoughts in a clear and concise way. I was a little nervous that spending 8 hours in front of a screen would feel like a really long day, but the class was very interactive and I didn't get bored one second. Jessica, our instructor, was great and made sure every participant was engaged throughout the whole day. What I really appreciated is how safe the environment felt to practice. It does not matter if you are a beginner or expert at public speaking, or even if you make mistakes, you will feel comfortable during the training. The day starts with a few icebreakers to put everyone at ease. Thanks to this class, I now have a "bucket system" that I can use to to break presentations into small, easy to remember pieces, no matter how big or small the presentation is. I used to think some people are naturally good at public speaking. This training teaches you tricks that you can use to sound like a natural as well :) I would definitely recommend this course to anyone. Personally, I am going to look into the 1 hour practice classes offered every week to continue learning more and practicing. I've taken the public speaking bootcamp here at Magnetic Speaking years ago and it really helped with improve my comfort level with speaking in front of groups. More recently, I attended the Impromtu Bootcamp Online and I was blown away with how the session was fun, engaging and interactive! Our instructor, Thianna, was amazing! She created a safe, open and enlivened space for us to really get value from this bootcamp. Before the Impromptu Bootcamp, I had the experience of being in my head in meetings, being blank and nervous and not contributing my ideas. This bootcamp introduced different techniques on how to be open and share your ideas authentically. We were able to practice these techniques with other participants on the call. Like most people- I have a huge fear of public speaking. The new remote world sparked by the crazy events of 2020 ushered in a whole new level of anxiety for me and how to navigate the new Zoom culture of presenting. So far I've attended one full virtual Bootcamp and also have a class pass to attend the weekly one-hour sessions. I am not exaggerating when I say my confidence and presenting level feels NIGHT and DAY! The Messaging Bootcamp, in particular, allowed me to prepare for a presentation that has been keeping me up and the instructor Jessica broke down the content in such a digestible way. Things like identifying the persona, answering the 'what-if's', and 'what's my story' are all things I wouldn't have thought of when prepping. In the end, it drastically changed the content of my slide deck! I highly recommend these courses to anyone who knows they could be a better public speaker but doesn't quite know where to start. Although I took speech class in college, I knew I was lacking the ability to organize my thoughts when presenting or giving project updates. In fact, I think I lack the organization whenever I speak to any of my superiors but that's a whole 'nother issue in itself. Our Diversity and Inclusion team at my job decided to have a work shop on effective communication to heighten the ability to speak up and communicate with confidence. Peter Khoury was our instructor and his class was amazing. Although our workshop was about two hours, I really learned a lot within that small time frame. He was able to teach us fundamental rules in speaking such as you're not a psychic, breathing, and walking techniques. I highly recommend Peter if you're weakness is communicating. I was apprehensive about attending an 8 hour virtual bootcamp. After all, that is a long time to be in front of a computer. Misgivings vanished quickly. First, it IS truly interactive. The only time you are not engaged is during lunch. I'm not kidding. There was nothing missing from this experience. I wondered if a bootcamp and breakout sessions might suffer from being virtual. I thought I might be able to throw up my photo and check in throughout the day. Not a chance. We may as well have been in a room together and I credit the experience to the instructor, Cam. You can always tell when someone loves what they do. Cam is one of those people. He is clearly passionate about coaching and about the science behind connection and communication. Given that he was teaching the module on storytelling, I was not surprised to find that he was able to spin a yarn out of air. I was delighted to discover that he was also an incredible teacher. It is often the case that an expert can do something well but can't teach that skill to others. That was not the case here. Cam was a great listener who gave insightful feedback. I tend to get put off when I read reviews with adjectives like GREAT and INCREDIBLE but my overwhelmingly positive experience with Magnetic Speaking warrants these kind of superlatives. My background is in journalism and I have always considered myself to be a good storyteller. I enrolled in this bootcamp because I believe that every professional benefits from coaching. I also work in the communications space as a coach but my focus is video content and on-camera delivery. Until today, I considered content to be the main reason stories fell flat. Now, I have a new perspective. I am grateful for the opportunity to experience this bootcamp and highly recommend it. read more

The virtual course I took was Impromptu Bootcamp with Rahul. First off, I broke through a blindspot that I had in my ability to be overly compulsive, anxious and rambling when confronted with a question that I did not know, or was nervous to answer. This had been part of me for roughly 15 years. The bootcamp is valuable because it squeezes you just enough to allow you to see what has not been working for a long time. But the work is up to me to continue. It's like going to a gym. I don't gain muscles by sitting on the sofa. Second, I saw how my passion could have a structure, rather than being reactive and plowing through conversations. I have trained myself in leadership, but leadership training is on-going, and the tools I learned in this will allow me to elevate how I communicate my passion in career of education and inspiring others. Third, Rahul -- he is a master trainer and his mental gymnastics are Olympian. He is empowering with his feedback, and is not afraid to be straight about what to elevate. I signed up for just a couple classes at first, but by the end of the first class, I decided to sign up for every class that Magnetic Speaking offers. In a nut shell: the instructors are informative and inspiring, and give you the assurance that you CAN and will master public speaking. The class content is thorough but easy to understand, and you are immediately able to start implementing the tools and techniques that they teach you. The best part is that you get a lot of time speaking in front of the class, right away. Impromptu Workshop at Magnetic Mastery was one of the best courses ever took. It gave lot of frameworks to handle situations in professional like. My journey for professional development started 2 years ago. As my responsibilities at my current company grew, working on soft-skills became important. I started searching online courses for developing skillsets. I instantly connected with course content for "Impromptu Bootcamp" as it had the ingredients I was looking for. In many of my day-to-day situations, I had to process the information instantly and respond to questions in high-pressure situations. The course work provides framework for many of the impromptu situations and builds confidence in handling them. In the first section of course, I learnt that listening was as important as responding. This changed greatly my perspective at impromptu speaking. Before the bootcamp, I always looking for right thing to say and realized that I had shut down that before I can respond confidently. In the later parts of the course, we learnt frameworks to provide response in short succinct audience for wider range of audiences. Another powerful technique which I completely understand it's power was how to engage in group discussions. I plan to practice it over next couple of months. Finally, our instructor Thianna blew away my expectations in first 2 hours. Later I found that she was a journalist in her previous professional life and responding to impromptu situations was her forte. Our course had diverse set of people from various backgrounds and it was impressive to see how everyone was embracing the concept and transforming. What separates this course from many other courses is the post-course activity plan. We made plans/commitments on how we practice various techniques over a period of time and hone them. Also, there are 1x1 and group sessions after the course to reinforce the concepts and get personal help. Some of my colleagues have told me recently how they noticed visible approach in how I lead meetings. I am eagerly waiting to sign up "Facilitation Course" after finishing up my post-course plan. We had lot of fun exercises along the way which are great to teach even for kids. I plan to teach my kids these exercises and lay strong foundations for them. I attended their Blueprint boot camp. Here are my takeaways : (1) They have a clear organized structure on the different strategy that will help anyone to improve their speaking skills. (Pretty strong statement but their framework is so simple and effective) (2) This boot camp helped me to understand the basic structure for a good presentation. (3) Now, when I see ted-talks I am actually finding a pattern and the framework they are using. This will help anyone to be a better presenter for sure. If we practice enough with this framework, we can surely become a better speaker. I was worried about the efficacy of joining a virtual boot camp but my fears were eliminated immediately ! The trainer , Raitis, was amazing and commanded the "virtual" room!
