We saw Haley Hagan, SLP at the Jennifer Katz office on Laguna Honda for an expressive language delay for a year when our child was 1.5 years old, and then for work on articulation for 9 months when he was 4. Ms. Haley was warm, energetic, engaging, professional, and so very capable and knowledgable. I recommend her without reservation. The practice is also well-run -- something relatively rare in the world of medical care these days, unfortunately. They accept payment from golden gate regional center and some health insurances, and generate the necessary superbills in a timely fashion if you have out of network benefits as well. If you have questions, you can reach out and someone gets back to you. And parking is EASY in a parking lot next door. read more

We have been seeing Caroline at Katz for a few years and we absolutely love her! Easy to work with, great communication, office is nice and parking is easy. Would highly recommend. read more

We had an incredible experience working with Shelly Parks, or Teacher Shelly, as our 4 year-old called her, for over a year (Sep 2024-Dec 2025). Shelly was instrumental in helping our son meaningfully improve his speech, and helping us realize there were other issues at play in his ear/ nose/ throat system - that were causing significant fluid retention and drainage problems, hearing loss, ear pain, poor sleep, irritability, and more, thus impacting his speech and behavior. Thanks to Shelly, we were able to figure all of this out, get our son the help he needed, and, a year later, we have a transformed kid. What made Shelly a great speech therapist for our son? Shelly is very observant, noticing fine details we did not (including the broader ENT issue I described earlier); she worked at our kid's level - really meeting him where he was, being flexible (he can be stubborn!) but also clear and firm to ensure progression. Shelly has a kind demeanor, accepting our son for who he is, making him feel welcomed so he felt supported to learn (there were days when he'd refuse to go to school b/c he didn't feel comfortable there but he was always thrilled to go see "Teacher Shelly"). She took a very methodical, thorough and collaborative approach with us - tracking his progression with regular speech samples and communicating suggestions for us to incorporate into our interactions with our son. And finally, she really cared about his well-being. There was a point when our son's speech, hearing and behavior issues were causing challenges for him at school. We were unsuccessful at convincing his preschool teacher that it wasn't just bad behavior but a host of other interrelated challenges we were working on with him. They had just decided he was a troublemaker. When I shared this with Shelly, she was concerned they were getting him so wrong. She talked to them and helped them change their perspective, take what we were saying seriously, and become much better partners in our son's development and growth as a result. Shelly is an incredible speech-language pathologist. I'd recommend her to anyone - and especially to parents of young kids struggling with their speaking comprehension and hearing. There isn't enough I can say. Thank you, Shelly, for everything. read more

Our son worked with Shelly Parks for more than a year. She was great to work with him, helped him with his comprehension and expression skills. He enjoyed working with Shelly during this time. Highly recommend if your kid needs speech therapy. read more

As an adult patient, I had a great experience working with Maggie C for Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. She is super knowledgable and explains or demonstrate concepts / programs in a variety of ways if something doesn't immediately click. I appreciated the flexibility of Zoom sessions and consistent, clear communication from their admin team. I would highly recommend working with the team at Jennifer Katz, especially Maggie! read more

My son was fortunate to see SLP Keiti at Jennifer Katz for speech pragmatics / social skills for over 2 years. Keiti really understood his needs as well as capabilities. She helped us as well as other adults (e.g. school admin) in my son's life understand how to better support him. Thank you Keiti and thank you Jennifer Katz. read more

Christy has been working with my son for a short time and he really enjoys it. He has also made some rapid progress. This 5 star review is also because Christy is an honest and direct person. Her gut feeling was that my son did not need the speech therapy anymore (law of diminishing returns) and was open and honest with me about it. She then did a detailed assessment to formalize this - it was not just her relying on instinct. The assessment made it pretty clear as well. I really appreciate this level of honesty. It would have been far too easy for her to just keep us coming back every week - but instead, this display of integrity and being open and candid with us meant a lot. So not only is Christy and the team good at what they do, they are a high integrity bunch as well, and that is super important. Highly recommend. read more

Our son saw Haley at their Laguna Honda location for a year. During our time with Katz Speech, Thomas mastered his R, L, TH, and S sounds. Haley is extremely caring, patient, and brought so much fun to the process. We are so grateful for Haley and Katz! read more

We worked with Jennifer through the Spring and Summer of 2020. Because of the many stressful changes that the pandemic caused, our daughter developed a speech impediment, compounding the stress within our family. Jennifer treated Juniper and our family with loving care, carefully coaching my wife and I about the treatment and what needed to be done to solve the speech challenges. Because of Jennifer, I can thankfully announce that our daughter is doing much, much better with her speech. Jennifer is available to her clients even after completion of therapy. Recently I emailed Jennifer with some questions about our daughter's speech progress and Jennifer responded immediately. Thank you Jennifer. You have made a true impact on our daughter and family. read more

Our daughter saw Haley Barker at Jennifer Katz Speech Therapy. She was always very kind and patient, and our daughter looked forward to going to speech therapy. She would keep us informed of our daughter's progress and would make recommendations on what we could do at home to help her. Highly recommend Haley and Jennifer Katz Speech Therapy. read more

This is the best speech therapy in the Bay Area. If not in SF, it's worth the trip. The therapists are warm professional and experienced in a full range of speech language and feeding issues. Great with kids and communicate well with parents. Thanks to Jennifer, my daughter was finally diagnosed with a tongue tie. We are now recovering from her procedure and I'm confident knowing my daughter is in the best hands. We are so grateful for the therapists here and our experience read more

I highly recommend Abby Moore! She and the other therapists at Jennifer Katz are amazing. Our son has been receiving speech therapy here for 3+ years. We have been to other providers and are every happy here. Our son is on the spectrum and with the support and care he's received here, he has made significant progress with his goals. He recently had a psycho-educational evaluation at school and one of his areas of strength were with speech and language. This is no doubt due to the work he has done with Abby. She is patient, fun and able to adjust her strategies to meet our needs. Our son trusts her and they have developed a great relationship. We've also worked with other therapists in the office and they've all been wonderful. The sessions are kept at 25 minutes which is just the right amount of time. We are very happy here and highly recommend to any family looking for help. read more

My son found very good therapists at Katz and I highly recommend it. It took few months to be able to see a therapist but they made a big effort to accomodate our needs of a time after school hours. They communicated very well with my son and me. It was a very successful treatment. read more

Long overdue review! My son was diagnosed with autism in March 2020 when pandemic started. I have worked with a few speech therapists now but Ms. Claire is amazing in her knowledge, research, techniques and very organized in her plan. My son was non verbal back then. I worked with Ms. Claire for a few months after diagnosis and we stayed in touch for almost 4-5 months for therapy related questions. I still email and share all amazing progress we have seen. He is 3 years and 4 months old with 4-5 words phrases!! I must say Ms. Claire has changed my life and techniques that I apply with my son as a mom. She is wonderful therapist and a therapist who equip you with tools and techniques so you can be successful at home. I remember how Ms. Claire gave me real time feedback over a video session to truly implement child led therapy in organized manner. She highlighted all good things we had and item we needed to work on. Ms. Claire also gave me links of videos of best SLP in country and showed how I can work on. She sent me podcasts, PDFs, books and everything she could think of. I am grateful that I have found Ms. Claire. We had to move to different therapist because we moved to Orange County. I highly recommend her and wish all parents out there good luck, with right therapy you can really make child successful! Thank you Ms. Claire read more

Jennifer is thoughtful, knowledgeable, and thorough. My son loved his first meeting with her and we are looking forward to the next one.

We've worked with Elizabeth since our son was 18 months old, all through zoom sessions. When we started therapy, our son had exactly zero words. We'd tried sign language with no luck and even an online course targeted to late talkers, again, no luck. Within weeks of working with Elizabeth, our son was communicating with signs and starting with words. Now at 27 months, he's fully caught up to his age milestones and won't stop talking!!! Elizabeth kept the sessions engaging and fun, even through zoom. She was able to read our son's moods and adjust the session to meet him wherever he was that morning. She gave us all the tools we needed to work with him between sessions and it has been so fun to watch him gain confidence and start communicating. He's been singing his ABCs all evening and telling strangers on the street "Happy New Year" something I never thought I'd see just a few months ago. Thanks Elizabeth!!! read more

We had a wonderful experience at Jennifer Katz! Our son, Danny, worked with Teacher Michelle on many things during his speech and language therapy sessions including improving articulation, word memory, and blending. Michelle portioned the large amount of work Danny had to do into manageable sections, so he could experience success grounded in true progress, without feeling overwhelmed. She used games purposefully to keep Danny engaged and having fun while learning. Danny loved every session and genuinely looked forward to seeing Teacher Michelle on a weekly basis. Michelle always displayed the utmost professionalism and care during the 2.5+ years Danny was under her tutelage. We have seen Danny make great strides in his speech, auditory comprehension, and comfort with speaking, and are so grateful for the expertise Michelle shared with us. Even though we have graduated, Danny continues to think of Teacher Michelle as a friend, who he will keep in touch with! read more

Lisa Chisholm at Jennifer Katz worked with our child for 8 critical months; she carried an essential, hard and creative speech therapy, through both pre-covid and covid (zoom) sessions - both highly engaging and effective. The progress was noticeable from the 3rd session, and kept on in a persistent pace we are grateful - our child's speech caught up with his piers just in time! read more

Both my son and daughter went to Jennifer Katz for speech therapy. Between two kids, and over the course of our 5 years with the practice, we worked with 5 different therapists. Each of them was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and kind. The plans for the sessions were always age-appropriate and incorporated my kids' interests. I also appreciate that the office accepted my insurance and submitted the billing on my behalf. Not having to deal directly with the insurance company was incredibly helpful! read more

My son visited Jennifer to help with his pronunciation of the letter 'R'. Jennifer is clearly an expert in her field. She knew exactly what to look for and was able to quickly diagnose the root of the issue. She took time to discuss her recommendation with my son's orthodontist and they aligned on a clear path forward. I'm thrilled that my son no longer has trouble with his pronunciation. Jennifer made speech therapy fun! My son would've happily continued attending her sessions but Jennifer was very upfront when she felt his quick progress supported far fewer sessions than initially expected. Jennifer is wonderful to work with and we're so grateful for all of her help. read more

Jennifer Katz came highly recommended by my daughters preschool. My now 4yr old is a bundle of energy and sassy attitude rolled into one. Keeping her engaged in anything is somewhat of a nightmare and I worried that we wouldn't be able to find the right fit. We were wrong! Her speech therapist, Alyssa, is amazing with her. She has the perfect amount of sternness, kindness, and fun attitude that my daughter needs. Before we started seeing Alyssa, my daughters intelligibility was pretty low. Only her primary caregivers (myself & her teachers) could understand her, whereas others could barely understand her. Now my little girl's intelligibility overall has improved so much - and that's a huge win for us. We go to the Forest Hill location and love it. Though it is a trek for us as we live in SOMA, parking is free and plenty. They take insurance and I've never once had any issues with billing. They're transparent and help with finding out what you're covered for. I highly recommend this practice! read more

Jennifer Katz did an amazing job working with my daughter. I appreciate her generosity of sliding scale, making a frustrating situation manageable. It only took a handful of sessions to resolve my daughter's particular "tongue thrusting" condition. My daughter felt an immediate comfortable connection to Jennifer which made the process flow. read more

When your kid "graduates" speech therapy and says, "Why do I have to stop? I want more appointments with Alyssa!"... you know you've got something good! From the intake, to the assessment, and throughout every session, this practice was a well oiled machine. Prompt responses on emails, swift answers to billing questions, clear communication... As a parent, I appreciated that this practice did it all. For us, location was the first draw as their Forest Hill office was very close to our home and school. But we really lucked out with Alyssa. She calls herself strict. I call her disciplined and consistent. She has such a great energy and she really partners with the parent to help the kids reach their full potential. At first my kid wasn't sure about this whole speech therapy thing, because honestly, it's hard. The kid has to twist their toungue into new ways just to get an "r" sound. And then relearn how to say it correctly in every word they currently say wrong. It's not easy and my kid got frustrated. Alyssa was able to encourage and challenge him to do better. And he rose to that challenge. She figured out the right positive reinforcement for my child and used that throughout his sessions. My kid had fun and actually looked forward to his appointments! If you're looking for a speech therapy group, look no further. read more

With two children with speech delays, we have met many speech therapists, and Jennifer Katz Inc. has been the best! My daughter saw Lisa at the Noe Valley office for almost a year. These appointments never felt like a chore, but were always a fun part of our week that my daughter looked forward to. Lisa gave us weekly feedback and lots of strategies for practicing new skills at home. My daughter made excellent progress in her time with Lisa. As has been mentioned in other reviews, Robyn in the financial department is beyond helpful in answering and troubleshooting insurance questions. We loved our time with Jennifer Katz Inc. and have already happily recommended her to our friends. read more

Alyssa worked with my son for a year. He improved dramatically during this period and has now "graduated" from speech therapy. We worked with other speech therapists before. They seemed fine. No one has impressed me nearly as much as Alyssa though. Of all the various teachers, coaches, and mentors that had been around my kid, Alyssa stands out. Having listened to many of Alyssa's remote therapy sessions during the COVID-19 era, I learned a great deal about talking to my child from her. Highly emotionally intelligent and committed to her patient, she was exceptional at establishing and maintaining a connection with my elementary school student (who was often already tired, distracted, etc. by the beginning of his speech therapy.) She was kind, attentive, and supportive; and yet she managed to harvest whatever mental energy my son had on a given day and focus it on the lesson. Alyssa didn't take easy ways out, didn't give on the sessions when my son was so uncooperative that I might have; and ended up salvaging many difficult sessions. My son learned that he could overcome difficulties and often succeed even on a bad day. And, of course, he learned many strategies for speaking fluently that he is able to practice independently. Alyssa is excellent at communicating with parents. We always knew what she was working on and why, and what we could do outside her sessions to help make progress. Again, most teachers can do it to a degree; Alyssa is a higher tier than most. While it's exciting to be told that your child no longer needs therapy, I am a little sad that he won't have Alyssa in his life going forward. read more

Our son just finished his speech therapy with Jacob. We love Jacob! I can't say it enough. He made each session fun and our son actually looked forward to his speech classes! We are thankful for Jacob in how he quickly identified what we had to work on each week, the sounds of the letters he was struggling with just got better and better! We would highly recommend Jennifer Katz speech to anyone looking to obtain speech therapy services for their children! And we hope that Jacob is available if we need future services for our other children. read more

I wish, I could give Jennifer Katz, a Million stars. I am so, thankful to Jacob Thornton. He has always gone above and beyond and my 3-year-old loves going to see him. He went from having 20 words at age two to becoming a chatterbox in a year. I am so proud of the progress that my son has made, and I know none of this would have been possible without Jacob's deep knowledge, professionalism, and his compassionate approach. Jacob even has his ways to make their online sessions super fun and productive. The video calls usually end in tears as my son, would like to stay on the video call with Jacob for hours. I highly recommend Jennifer Katz to anyone who needs speech therapy. read more

Our 15 year old daughter recently graduated from nearly a year of weekly ST sessions with Ashley Kippins at the Laguna Honda office. Our entire experience was exceptional starting with the front office for scheduling and billing transactions to the therapy sessions with Ashley. Under Ashley's patient guidance our self conscious teenager mastered techniques to successfully correct her lateral lisp. Her tearful embarrassment after the first visit soon turned into joyful anticipation of each weekly visit with Ashley. She made steady gains in the context of a well thought out treatment plan. I cannot say enough good things about Ashley, both her technical and interpersonal skills. Thank you again! read more

My 6 year old son did OMT with Kelsey via zoom for 6 months. We cannot say enough great things about her! It's obvious how much she truly loves her job and learning about this space. She went above and beyond by sending extra videos of the exercises, and was always available by email if we had questions. She kept the sessions fun by doing games and engaging with my son. read more

We love our speech therapist Abby Moore! She has helped my son a lot with expanding his speech. She is detail oriented and knows when to pause and let him use his speech and when to correct him. She is also creative and a fun person. I love the energy she brings to each session. We've had many speech therapists along the way but she is really the best. read more

Our daughter had a great experience with Claire Dolan at Jennifer Katz, Inc. She spent almost about 6 months working on sound and specific letter articulation and I saw great improvement almost immediately. Our daughter loved meeting with Claire and always had a fun time in her sessions. When she was ready to "graduate" she told me she was "excited, but also sad because I'll miss Claire." Working with the office side of JK was successful, too. Meeting sessions were easily scheduled and when one of us, either therapist or child was sick, it was easy to communicate via email to alert each other. We were given home work to complete and it felt like an appropriate amount of practice that was still fun and helpful for child and parent-coaching. We were given language to use with our child's school so that we all gave the same directives to our daughter - a big help on the school end, too! I would recommend JK inc to families seeking speech and language support for their children. read more

Working with the speech therapists at Jennifer Katz was a great experience. My children each had their own unique speech issues, and by working with the therapist each child was given the individual speech plan to get their speech needs filled. Our amazing journey with Christy Hack, one of the therapist at Jennifer Katz, showed us patience, compassion, and saw each child where and who they were. She saw that one child needed a more tactical approach to speech and the other child needed auditory games as an example. read more

We worked with Alyssa Winn, and saw immediate and impressive results with our 2.5 year old son. She was unfailing optimistic and positive, leading him through lots of activities despite the challenges of Zoom and a toddler temper. She was flexible to whatever mood he was in, and kept it fun and light. Often we didn't even realize there was a "curriculum" being followed until after the session when she explained it -- it just felt like a fun game to play. He soon started asking to hang out with his "friend Alyssa" (both words we didn't think he'd be saying so soon). We were given helpful exercises to do in between sessions, as well as behaviors to avoid. The result was a dramatic turnaround in his use of language in just a few short months. We're thrilled with the progress, and so grateful to Alyssa for all her work, especially during these difficult times. read more

I am so thankful I found this place for my 4-year -old. We have been going for less than 9 months and the progress my son has made in that short amount of time blows me away. The sessions are fun and exciting for my little guy. He runs into the room as soon as his therapist Jacob Thornton , opens the waiting room door. Jacob is so patient , knowledgeable and keeps the sessions fun , so my son is willing to cooperate. I cannot thank Jacob enough for his hard work and compassionate care. I would recommend Jacob to anyone. read more

I cannot thank Jacob Thornton enough for his dedication to my child. Not only, he gave my son the gift of communication, he has given our whole family the gift of support and encouragement. His kind and loving nature put my timid little boy at ease from day 1 and my son went from being non-verbal to becoming a chatterbox. Jacob, helped us in some critical months and for that, I could never thank him enough. Once our pre-school was closed indefinitely for the 2020 school year due to COVID, I enrolled our 5 year old in a pre-literacy group with Abby from Katz Speech. Our son joined 1 - 2 other students via Zoom for 30 minutes to practice vowel sounds and basic reading skills. He loved it so much, we added another session each week! Even on our son's grumpiest days, Abby was able to get him engaged. She's patient, kind and made our son feel absolutely empowered to start reading. We love Abby! read more

We are thrilled with our experience with Alyssa Winn and Jennifer Katz Inc. We received our son's speech delay diagnosis right at the beginning of the pandemic. The idea of an 18 month-old getting much out of zoom based sessions seemed a bit unrealistic but we were willing to give it a shot. And, amazingly, one year later he has successfully graduated from the program as a little chatter box, who has learned to communicate effectively, while only having interacted with this his therapist remotely. Our only disappointment will be not having the chance to see him interact with Alyssa each week and the joy that came from these interactions. read more

Alice is a fantastic speech therapist at Jennifer Katz, Inc.! She is patient, kind, and my son LOVED her! He was so excited to get on his Zoom with "Teacher Alice" each week. It was special for him, he looked forward to it! With COVID, we weren't sure how well speech therapy was going to work on Zoom with our 3.5 year old, but it went so well! Way better than expected. I encourage parents on the fence to give it a try. It may not work for all kids, but it certainly worked for ours. 6 months later, with weekly sessions, our son is all caught up to his peers and he no longer needs speech classes. That is also a wonderful reason to choose Jennifer Katz, they do a clear, accurate assessments, then once your child reaches those goals, they are honest about that too, so you only pay for what you need. 5 BIG STARS!!! So happy with Alice and Jennifer Katz, Inc. read more

We had a wonderful experience working with Abby and the Jennifer Katz team. Our son started with a speech delay, and after 6 months of working with Abby he was considered average in his speech and language! I appreciated how smoothly the onboarding and off boarding process went, the strategic goal-setting based on where he was, the very helpful feedback for how parents and other caregivers could continue the work outside of sessions, the child-led play-based approach, and the genuine care, joy, and fun our son experienced in every single session. I can't recommend Abby and team highly enough. read more
