Both of the teachers have structured programs and they are both very caring, using individual approach to cater to every child's needs. The teachers and assistants provide usefull tips and help work on the same goals that parents are working at home. In my personal experience, her leadership style felt harsh, dismissive, and misaligned with what a supportive work environment should provide. I also found that the HR practices did not offer the support or fairness employees typically expect. When staff raised concerns, the environment often felt intimidating rather than collaborative, which made it difficult to feel safe speaking up. Like most work places always document everything. The leadership culture I encountered made it a difficult place to thrive.

There is an average of about 24 per class. The school also has a great resource services, including a literacy program and counseling, that address individual student special needs. There is, of course, an after school program and for students in 5-8th grade a homework club. Hot lunch is available EVERY day. I note that "Mama S." wrote that it was only provided on Tuesdays, but for as long as my kids have been attending, it's been available every day. Also, on days that your child or you forget lunch, they will provide your child with a hot lunch and bill you later. (My friend's daughter went to another school in SSF and they did not provide that option; letting her go without lunch on 2 seperate occasions.) My family is really pleased with this school. I can't identify a reason right now why I did not give it 5 stars, but it's not perfect. But, check it out for yourself. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Shoutout to Ms. Nicole, Mr. Matt, Ms. Sonia, Ms. Harris and all the other teachers who make Latchkey great. They've created a warm environment for my child to thrive. I'm confident that my child will be ready for Kindergarten this fall and all the friends he's made at Latchkey will carry on since it's attached to the elementary school. Tuition is very reasonable for the Bay Area ($1,515 per month at the time of this posting), and lunch/snacks are included. Hours are great for working families, basically the whole day from 7am-6pm. The facilities, which are two bungalows, seem to be on the older side, however, they do keep it tidy and feels homey. They think she "harsh", really? And yeah, some students have problems and have late learning, but still, even those other children, they should know better. The kids are having the decision to be rude and not be nice to the staff or something just because of their personality. I've had her as a second grade and fourth grade teacher, and she is nice, if you're nice back. OwO. I actually had trouble in writing and paying attention, but I tried my hardest to listen. That was MY decision. I decided to be good. I realized my mistake, and survived my fourth grade year. Sometimes students have to understand it... AnywAY, the school was one of the 'better schools' , no offense, but I agree. They taught a lot of things ahead so we know what to do. My first grade teacher, Ms. McDermott, she's so nice.. And my third grade teacher, (she already retired, Ms. Tourlos) was probably my best teacher. My 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Almeida, taught a lot too. My PE teacher(s), MS. Brown, Ms. Gloria, etc. did a lot of good exercises and fun games. And, well, all my teachers are the best, eheh. Middle school actually feels easy, like at PE, my mile time is around 9:30 average. All of my subjects feel easy to me, and I have band class, and already took the flute at Tobias, so I kept going at flute! It's so influential, especially when you are older and mature. You understand more, and maybe, students, might change their mind about this school. I love my grade. All my friends in my grade. We all understand now. And we *almost* all love the school. Experience could be better... I graduated 10 years ago, so a lot of things have changed…read more From the get-go, no one wanted to be friends with me, which made me dread school. In kindergarten, I wanted to play with the building blocks, so I would hang out with the boys, but they would never include me and single me out, so I decided to hang out with the girls, and they would also make fun of me and would not want me to hang out with them because I was different. The PE instructor was mean to me as well and singled me out for a lot of things during first and second grade. On top of that, I was a victim of bullying, and a lot of people thought I was incompetent and worthless, even though I did nothing wrong. For the most part, the teachers were nice, and I know that some of you all had complaints about this one fourth-grade teacher (ifkyk), but in all honesty, a majority of your complaints are due to you enabling your kids too much. Yes, I do get that they were harsh at times, and they even singled me out for being disorganized, but it was a life lesson for me. I also witnessed them being harsh towards a student, but they were doing their work on a table that had a chair on it, and they were kneeling on the ground, resulting in their inability to concentrate properly, so in that case, they had a right to be harsh. Some of their biggest flaws were singling out students who were ahead or behind, which I was not a fan of. I remember one of my classmates transferred schools because they got singled out for being the "bad" student, which was messed up since if you were worried about their progress, it would be better to talk to the student's parents about it rather than humiliating them in front of the class. That being said, in most cases, they had a right to scold students since the students would be rather mean to the teacher (I witnessed this throughout my whole K-12 education), and they were the most stern about it, which led to parents and students not liking them. I have a feeling that maybe her reputation wouldn't have been so bad if parents didn't constantly enable their kids I also noticed that the school should do a better job with substitute teachers. During my fifth grade year, my teacher was on maternity leave, so we needed a sub and this led to the class getting out of control and my parents were having complaints about the students not learning and the children behaving badly (bullying, passing mean notes, talking over the teacher, having no regards for the rules, etc) and again, this could have been a result in parents enabling their kids too much. I was more grounded, and this led to me being bullied and singled out, so when graduation came, I felt empty towards everyone. There was this one yard member who would always come to my classroom and yell at everyone for no reason, which got on my nerves and was rather unpleasant to deal with at 8:30 am. I was also not a fan of the fact that some of my classmates were boy crazy in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade since I just wanted to live life. In all honesty, my experience could have been better, but the end of my fifth-grade year made my experience pretty bad, along with cliquey classmates and bullies.

From intake to our final class, the staff made sure that the scheduling process was a breeze, and that visits did not fall short of expectations. They have an excellent staff dedicated to your child's development, and the office is pristine. Not just clean; very well kept. I noticed that there wasn't one tear on a book or broken toys. They put lots of effort into upkeep, knowing well that toys and books can take a beating with younger kids. East Bay Child Development Center has terrific speech therapists and therapists specialized in helping in all other types of child development, including but not limited to physical therapy, etc. We went through 2 different speech therapists and 1 or 2 therapy students which was a little harder for our son to grow accustomed to because it would take him awhile to warm up (which I've learned isn't unusual for any development therapy center), but each therapist tried their absolute best to ensure they were giving him the utmost care and attention.

They failed my son years ago when he was younger because they said he was not ready for speech when I just changed my insurance to get accepted to come here. Now he's 12 years old saying he's not a good fit. Shame on you to say that to me. You can't discharge him that's illegal. My son is trying with his speech and he has rights in California to receive speech therapy any age. Discrimination by the ability, then age, what's next because his sister running around the office and also I was on the phone? For that lady who spoke with me today over the phone couldn't wait on me. And making me feel like I was being fired from the job, she sounded rude and said my daughter was running around the room and I was speaking loud on the phone so the excuse to fail my son. Then changed her words saying he's not a good fit and he runs fast and wants to push the kids. She needs to find more excuses for her to dismiss him. You don't know how hard and challenging to be a mother of autistic kid. I finally thought I have him his speech going and then you locked me up like shutting my mouth. Go see if your speech therapist is the one who has the problem. She too lazy to give speech therapy or has a lack of skills. This is Shameless and discrimination.

Children not only learn knowledge but also have the opportunity to develop their interests and creativity. This year, my child's academic progress has been remarkable. What surprised us even more was his personal growth. I used to think he was quite introverted and hesitant to perform in front of others, but with the encouragement of his teachers, he was fantastic at the Winter Performance. He confidently performed on stage, which was incredibly moving. His progress in social skills has also been a wonderful surprise. Many parents think Stratford is only about academics and lacks SEL (Social-Emotional Learning). In fact, the school integrates values like respect, responsibility, integrity, and care into daily teaching through the Character Counts! program, helping children learn to communicate, collaborate, and solve problems. Additionally, I really love the communication between the school leadership and parents.
