My son came to Speech Goals for several months and attended a weekly group session with Miss Kathy…read more Kathy is great and creates a welcoming and fun environment for the kids. Each week, she would try and incorporate different activities that would appeal to the kids but still help them come out of their shells and develop their language skills. A lot of exercises would be around finding things around the room and helping the child name it out loud to build their confidence in using their words. There were also other set routines built into the class, such as the hello/goodbye song, playtime, snack time, and then music time. I've interacted with different members of the staff and other speech therapists through Speech Goals since my time here and I've been very impressed with the professionalism and genuine level of care everyone has for the kids that come through the program. The only thing I would wish to change is the level of parental involvement that is required. We came for two hours each week, which was really very difficult to do with a full-time work schedule. In fact, we qualified to come twice a week, four hours total, but I knew there was no way I could commit to doing that. It would be nice if there was an option where the classes were either shorter, or the parent could drop off the child and pick them up when class was over like some other speech programs do. Especially when a good amount of the two-hour block is spent during playtime, where the kids get free play in the facility's indoor play area. There is definitely a benefit in helping kids get their energy out and build their gross motor skills but I'd rather focus the time there on the specific exercises targeted toward his speech and take him to the park after work hours for playtime. But overall, Speech Goals can be a very valuable place to go to to help address early development needs for your toddler. Thank you for the partnership these last few months!

I really liked her approach and flexibility with my strong-willed kiddo. He went from a couple words to little sentences, and we always enjoyed our time with her. She was also so helpful with general parenting questions I'd bring up and so supportive when my son had a tough time transitioning between activities.

Francisca is an exceptional speech therapist and we are endlessly thankful for her, cannot…read morerecommend her more highly! While not often compelled to write reviews, I wanted to share my experience in the hope that it helps other parents as I agonized over making the decision of speech therapist about a year back. We have been working with Francisca for about a year and she has been an integral partner to our family in diagnosis, development and progression for our child. Prior to using Francisca, we were with a highly recommended speech therapist in SF, but weren't make a ton of progress. After Francisca's first visit she was able to identify some other challenges our child was having with her speech that our prior therapist missed for more than a year. She gave great advice, put a solid plan together of how we would work and the results have been amazing. A few other reasons why we highly recommend Francisca: she is highly competent in her job, she clearly communicates to us as parents how we can best help our child, and kids love her. Our child jumps with excitement when she comes to our house, is always excited to show us the "games" and learning activities they are working on and looks forward to her sessions. All and all, if you are thinking you need a speech therapist for your child (or loved one), I cannot think of a better one to recommend than Francisca.

When she first met him 2 years ago he was not making much progress with therapy. He was struggling with focusing and unable to get the sound of letters he was working on. So with her experience she felt there was something else that could have been making it hard for him to progress and suggested we have him see a craniofacial specialist to see if there was any structural issues that may be inhibiting him from progressing in speech. Sure enough after the evaluation with the surgeon my son had a submucosal cleft. He required surgery but without her recommendation to get him checked we would have never known. Now a year and a half after aurgery and still working with Francisca in her private practice, he has made tremendous progress. He now is able to talk more clearly and people are able to decipher the words he is saying. He was never able to blow a candle out until his 5th birthday. My husband and I couldn't be more thankful for Francisca and how much of an impact she has had on my sons progress in speech. If you're looking for a professional speech therapist who is knowledgeable and very effective with helping children with speech impediments; she is a therapist I really would recommend for you to consider for your child/children.

He could only say about 20 words at 2 and a half and now he is saying full sentences, asking questions and engaging in healthy play activity. His speech therapist, Miss Julia, has gone above and beyond by getting in contact with our son's preschool & OT teachers so they were all on the same page and could monitor our son's progress. Her tips to preschool teachers have made a huge difference. I do feel that Seven Bridges cares about supporting our child in every way! Cannot recommend enough.

After a 6 week stay in the NICU, and a G-Tube placement, we started feeding therapy with Teresa through the Golden Gate Regional Center. During our time in the hospital and just after, we met with a number of feeding therapists that were next to no help with us. It was frustrating and sad, especially as new mom. When I met Teresa, I told her upfront that I was having a hard time and that I needed someone that could really help us get to a place where we could wean off our feeding tube. Nearly a year later, my daughter has been tube-free for almost five months, and has been mostly oral for about nine months. So much of our progress has been because of the help I got from Teresa. She has amazing patience, and really listens to what you're saying and offers useful and constructive ways to help. Nothing about it is forced, and along the way, there's also a gentleness in her approach to moving to the next steps. Of all our early intervention providers, Teresa is the one person I really wanted to meet with on a weekly basis because I knew there'd be constructive and helpful takeaways from our meetings. We recently had to relocate out of the state, and I am incredibly sad that I couldn't bring Teresa with us. Hopefully this means that Teresa can now help another family in the same way that she helped ours. Thank you Teresa and SF Speech!
