I grew up, and still have, a lisp that makes it difficult for people to understand me when I talk. It's something that I've had to work through my whole life. And here, it has definitely helped me a lot of ways. For me, every week I do exercises on how to improve my tongue movement on how to fully make the most of my sounds and such. But the biggest thing for me is building my confidence. All my life, speech has been one of my biggest insecurities. Here, I've learned to be okay with it and work through it, to build my confidence. I thought I was the only one going through this but spoke with another mom and same deal with her. If you are also in much need of speech therapy, do not wait for these folks! Unless you're guaranteed scheduled times after the assessment.
