I left from work today to go purchase 5 Chinese bowls for all my coworkers (nurses) and spent plenty of money plus purchasing drinks , I got to work let me mind you That I noticed one of my bowls had only rice / cow main " NO Chicken " which I asked for jalepeno chicken !! So I called and I spoke with the manager and she told me " I don't recall serving you , I said are you kidding me I was just in there you served my bowls your the one who messed up my 0rder lady smh so she passed the phone to the guy who is the cashier there and he remembered me and said we're very busy what do u want me to do ...... Some of the best Chinese take out I've ever had. The price is amazing, the food is amazing, and the customer service is amazing. I've Never had a bad experience at a magic wok. Be warned there will be a line, because the food is that good. Also be wary of the online menus, they don't always reflect what the store carries. This place has the best Chinese food I ever had. The owner has always wear gloves and mask but today I went in there and non of there employees had gloves on and not wearing there mask correctly. When I was standing in line I literally saw one of the employee grab the tray with her fingers inside the tray. The staff is always friendly and they're generous with their servings. They also have boba thai or milk tea, buy 1 get the other half off. Second time I've tried it....now I remember why I never went back...until yesterday...GROSS! The selection of entrees is very small.....the ruby chicken was WAY WAY to sweet. The other entree I got (forgot the name but it had pieces of chicken in it and random veggies and who know what else) and that was also gross. It had pieces of chicken fat and chicken cartilage in it ewwww....the fried rice was the only edible thing...it was bland however. The chowmein was also bland.....I also ordered Hot and Sour soup.......I never finished it. Okay so I came here today 10/18/18 at 4pm for my usual lunch. I always eat here cos the food is good and they always give me big portions. I came here around 11am, they are not busy and no customer in the store. I order one item combo and the staff give me small amount of food. Even Panda Express give me more food. I don't mind pay extra, so I told the employee give me extra fried rice and I will pay for it. But the employee did not even scoop half of the fried rice. He only scoop less than a quarter of fried rice. The employee still want to charge me extra for the fried rice. WTF? I will never ever come to here again. Just 5 minutes of driving distance to LA Express Chinese Food in Ontario. They give you more food and their food taste better than Magic Wok. I ordered 5 bowls one being teriyaki chicken and they now charge you for sauce which is crazy cause the chicken is supposed to come with the sauce. Ordered the house special rice, the guy takes the fried rice that's under the heat lamps, puts it in a container then hands it to a cook, the cook puts some rinsed beef pieces, couple of shrimp, extra egg and shove it the box. When I tried the twice fried rice, it tasted old and nasty, so I paid for a made-to-order dish and re-recycled fried rice and nasty rinsed beef pieces. I was starving from a busy day of shopping & I decided to stop by for a bowl. The chinese lady working the counter was very unfriendly, did not offer me any samples, and could not understand what i was telling her. First I asked for rice & a little bit of noodles. I noticed immediately that she put less food in my bowl than she did for the previous customer. I asked for her to give me lighter colored meat from the teriyaki chicken tray and instead she made me a very "light bowl" with barely enough meat to feed a mouse let alone a full grown human. Half of the "meat" she put in my bowl was just chicken skin and not meat at all. I regret eating here today as the old chinese lady in front is the worst! The food was just plain tasteless and nasty. I feel like they down graded. I used to think, how can anyone mess up Chinese food but boy was I wrong. I Dont mean to be so rude and I hope the owners take this to heart. The noodles lacked taste and the honey shrimp was just mushy and hard. The inside is so old and dirty, they have been here longer than I have lived in chino so I think its time to rebrand or remodel. In the mean time, i have been going across the street to Shi Foo which is pricier but in my opinion worth it! I Think people are willing to pay a bit more for better quality and good tasting food. I guess this place survives off of people who Dont know the meaning of good quality. My wife came here when she was growing up and now we bring our kids here to eat. They give you a lot of food in one combo enough to feed two people. The food is fresh and the restaurant is clean. The other day we stopped by and bought two combos that was enough food for a family of four. Next time we are near that side of town we will stop by again. read more
