Solid place for a quick lunch! Came here around 1130am with my parents on a weekday. Got combo 8 for $16.50 because I wanted noodles and a drink. The pork chop was really good. I do wish that they cut it into smaller pieces, but it's okay. The noodles were just okay. The combo comes with the old fashioned noodles, which is basically just soy sauce based. It tasted pretty good until I tried my mom's signature noodle. It was basically a spicy dan dan noodles. I think next time I'd just go with combo 4. But I really wanted that drink today haha. The drink was lemon tea. I usually never get lemon tea unless it's free but it did its job. I would never full price for it here though! There was only one other table when we arrived, but a few to go orders and a few more tables on our way out. I can imagine this place might get busy if you arrive too late. And the potsticker, the moment of the first bite, can tell it has fresh ingredients. The lady who took my order in the counter very nice. Ordered take out so the review is just for that. Got the signature noodles spicy and regular signature and both are so splendid in portion, pricing as well as flavor. If you're craving some dry noodles with chili, you can't go wrong with this place because the noodle tastes very fresh and it's really filling even without adding any protein. Really love that they have a condiment area, but I really wish they have more green onion or maybe a condiment section with more green onions. They have plenty other options for dumplings and we will have to try it for a more comprehensive review. But for now noodle wise, this place is pretty spot on. read more

I recently tried the Taiwanese beef noodle soup ($16.75) and was pleasantly surprised. Like most of the other things I've tried, the noodles have a solid base - the beef is nice and tender, the bok choy bok choys, and the noodles have a good chew. The beef noodle soup is to die for. If you're feeling adventurous get the mala one (spicy but not too spicy) for a nice kick. It comes in a big bowl with super delicious broth that is just irresistible. Place is quite clean but you may need to give the tables a wipe down as there's no one cleaning them as it's more of a cafeteria style where you clean them yourself. Even though there are always a lot of people in there we never have issue finding seating. Other items we tried are all tasty and super fresh. Our favs are the spicy wonton and the potstickers. Pork chops are good too but on the oily side so we only get this occasionally. Price is very reasonable and plenty of parking out front. I thought the signature noodles had way too much peanut flavor. There isn't anything like chili oil to make your sauce spicier. They had a handmade spicy sauce and it wasn't spicy at all. Otherwise, it would have been another wow. Their spicy wontons was flavorful. Katsu chicken was decent. Drinks were okay... nothing special. They offer frozen potstickers to be purchased, too. Staff was okay. Service was average. We ordered to go, but we ate some of the foods here. I think the foods are packaged in to-go boxes regardless if you dine-in or take-out... not 100% sure though. I do love their signature pan fried potstickers the best! Those were my fav! The corn and chicken plus regular steamed signature dumplings were just ok. I just have more of a preference for the pan fried ones. The noodles were good. The signature, somewhat spicy noods were tasty but a lil too spicy for me, but not as bad as some other spicy azn noods could go. It was bearable. I think I liked that more than the old fashioned noods. I originally asked for some green onion and cilantro toppings for both our noods, but they came without them. Had to go back and request them. Sauces were ok. The sesame oil one was very mild and didn't really taste of sesame. I liked the vinegar, garlic and chili sauces. Pricing was very reasonable. 2 noodles and 3 orders of dumplings (5 to 6 in each) plus 2 tea drinks came out to around $42. The drinks needed more sugar to be sweeter lol! But the black iced tea had a faint taste of toasted vanilla creme. They were ok. I'd try the milk teas with soy next time. When meals come out under $50 and we're both pleasantly full and even have some leftover, it's a good deal for sure! The ordering process is easy, they have both the kiosk and the cashier if you prefer to get recommendations. I went with the combo #2 which came with wonton soup and 12 dumplings. I also got a side order of the chili chicken! I would say that the chili chicken was my favorite. I would give it a 8.5/10. I would have just liked a little more for the price point, but the flavor and sauce that they offered were amazing. I ended up using the chili sauce for the dumplings. The dumplings alone, were a little lacking in flavor. But when paired with the garlic sauce or the chili sauce (which I recommend) is the way to eat it. Nice chain restaurant to stop by if you're in the mood for something quick, filling, and satisfying. My boyfriend and I often stop by on our errand-running days, and it gives us something to look forward to. We're in and out in thirty minutes, usually. We normally order the Kimchi & Pork potstickers (the 12 piece for him and the 6 piece for me), and bathe them liberally in sauce. Bafang offers a chili sauce, garlic sauce, soy sauce, black vinegar, and sesame oil, and we basically use the potstickers as vessels for these sauces. The food is priced reasonably and is good, filling, and fast -- nothing more, and nothing less. You can also purchase the dumplings frozen in-store to steam/fry at home. We would definitely recommend giving Bafang Dumpling a try if you're in the mood for a quick, satisfying meal. read more

The table I'm sitting at is a little dirty. I just wished it was cleaned prior to my arrival. Otherwise, the atmosphere is nice and modern. As for the Pork Chop with Braised Pork Belly Rice, the pork has a bit of a cinnamon flavor note to it, the rice is nice and firm. They he restaurant was brightly lit with ample seating. The original fried dumplings were delicious, crispy, and juicy both times I visited. The corn chicken dumplings was good as well. The soups are wildly inconsistent. This time, my corn chowder was basically lukewarm corn starch liquid with hardly any corn, carrots, or ham.... It felt like the little bits of broken pieces at the end of the soup, and it was far too sweet. The noodles and pork chop are on the blander side. There's a sauce bar with vinegar, soy sauce, a garlic sauce, sweet chili sauce, and sesame oil which was to have with the dumplings. The food is by far the best part of this experience. I walked in at around 9:30 and they were still open. The restaurant was completely open and I stood in line for about seven minutes while multiple employees stared at me not one of them greeted me nor did they bother to tell me that there was a self serve machine. You are supposed to take your own order and pay yourself. Otherwise you will be standing there until they close with no food. I didn't get to eat in this restaurant, but what I did notice is that the location in the city of industry is hands-down much better and cleaner. Other than that, the noodles were still delicious. Here's what we thought! Combo 6 - Dumplings & Hot & Spur Soup $12.25. Comes with 12 dumplings, 4 each of their 3 flavors (original, chicken and corn (yellow tinge), pork and kimchi (pinkish tinge)). All very juicy, the corn was a little sweet and the kimchi was a little spicy! Original was all juicy. Hot & sour was not too salty, nothing special to note. Combo 8 - Pork Chop, Old fashioned noodles and an iced lemon black tea $15.00 Pork chop has a crisp to seasoning to it, without a thick crust! The noodles might have been the star of the show. Perfectly chewy and super flavorful. The type of favor you try to recreate and home, but fail miserably!! If you like noodles, def try it!! Sides - pickled cabbage was tart, crisp and slight sweet; very much Taiwanese style! My favorite of the three! The seaweed and bean curd could have both been seasoned a bit more. I came here after seeing my fellow foodie's Instagram posts on this restaurant and was super excited to try it! Unfortunately it was a bit on the lack luster side. I tried ordered the potstickers, variety dumplings, wonton soup, and the corn chowder. The only item I liked was the potstickers, I felt like the other items were very bland. The flavor of the dumplings were missing something even when I dipped them in sauce. The interior is nice and very modern looking, but the service was just okay. From my experience in these type of businesses brought over from Taiwan, there always seems to be something a bit off, and not like the original. I am happy to report that this taste exactly like how it did in Taiwan. So happy to see this, and hope there will be more restaurants that will be similar in bringing the same experience. They have a self ordering machine, which is quite convenient, but you can also choose to order with one of the workers. This is the same plaza as 99 ranch, and this areas parking seems to get pretty packed, so keep that in mind. Food Like I mentioned, the food is pretty much the same as Taiwan, at least in my opinion. The potstickers are light and crisp, the hot and sour soup is just the right amount of spicy and sour, and even their pork chop was good! I do think it is more expensive them Taiwan, but it is worth it! Just wished they had more variety of chili. The noodle they have is super tasty as well! The place isn't the biggest place, so if you have a big party I would suggest that you take it togo. The only thing I would ask from this place is to have more trash cans, and to have a cleaner sauce station. I had to walk all the way across to the other side of the place to find the tray return station, and that is the only place they have a trash can. Imagine someone that has all this trash and needs to carry it over, I believe there is a lot more chances for something to drop of the floor causing more cleaning. Yay a second location for Bafang Dumplings in the US and the second in the SGV area. The first in City of Industry next to Puente Hills mall. So if you've visited the original location you know exactly what this place is all about. Yes this is a franchise brought from Taiwan. Yes the prices in the US are significantly higher then they are in Taiwan. But they are expanding Taiwanese cuisine to the mass market so no complaints there! There menu is pretty much dumplings/potstickers, combos, noodles, sides, soups and drinks. The potstickers either come in 12pcs or 6 pcs or in the combo set. The are pan fried to perfect crispiness with that crust on the bottom. They aren't super full of filling with either the signature or kimchi versions. So it definitely needs the garlic soy dipping sauce/hot sauce. The corn chowder is exactly like it is in Taiwan with little pieces of pork inside. This is delicious on those cold raining days. Overall i'd say the combo sets are more of a large snack then an actual meal. You most likely won't be very full but just satisfied finishing the entire set. They do offer side dishes and frozen dumplings togo for those looking. They don't many vegan/vegetarian options though. The dumpling themselves were good, light, and clean. Adding shredded cabbage helped keep the meal light. One thing I was disappointed with was the crispy bottoms of the dumplings. It can be best described as hard, not crispy. The skin on the dumpling was sticky and chewy and often its own form. The corn soup was definitely the star of the show. It had an interesting texture of watery, but also thick. The flavor was good and clean and the bits of pork and corn were a great addition.
