I ordered a few small things from magic tricks.com. They were fast to run my credit card and send me multiple, duplicate emails confirming the order. About a half hour after I placed my order, I spied another trick I wanted to add to my purchase. The phone rang busy, with a weird signal for over 39 minutes, so I zipped off an email, asking if I could throw one more trick in the box, so I didn't have to pay additional shipping. Totally ignored my request.
I followed my delivery through the USPS and it was supposedly delivered last night. It was not. While I understand that Peter, the owner, has no control over the Postal Service, I informed him I didn't get it and that I was hoping it was delivered to a neighbor, which happens frequently, and that it would be dropped off sometime today. I immediately received a reply that emphatically stated that he was not responsible, that he had given me a break in shipping and that my issue was with the post office. I replied that I would contact the post office, but disagreed with his contention that he had no responsibility, as he had my money, and told him that if it didn't show up, I would contact my credit card company. He responded with threats and name calling, accusing me of fraud. He is rude, insulting and has the worst customer service rep (himself) that I have ever encountered. As if I would commit fraud got $30. Shame on him. There are numerous, reputable, helpful and respectful Magic purveyors online, so my recommendation would be to wave your magic wands and make Peter Monticup and magictricks.com disappear forever. Trust me, I did! Poof! read more
