Ever since the management changed, Magic Nails has only gotten better! The women working here are very nice. They always make me feel welcomed and ask for my opinion on how my nails look before continuing. It is very clean and professional. I have been here several times to get gel nails, but most recently I came and got acrylics done. Kim did my acrylics today and they look amazing. The length and color I wanted. I'm always weary of trying new nail salons but this one pleasantly surprised me! I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and they were pretty busy. I just wanted a simple pedicure and shellac manicure. I had to wait maybe 10 minutes but that wasn't bad considering how busy they were. They did both my mani and pedi at the same time and were finished within 30 minutes and still did a good quality job. A week later and my shellac is still going strong! read more

The owner, Tina, always PRESENT ( except for maternity leave & 6 weeks w/baby a yr ago - & Sundays for her ONE Day of rest ) and ALWAYS says hello to me upon my arrival no matter what she is busy doing. Ann gives me the most amazing leg and arm massages every time I'm in for my mani-pedi. Jessica, is truly a great hostess & also sees to my every need if I have not already been smothered in care & conversation about the wellbeing of my children and sisters.(they remember my family members' names!) I do Frequent the shop every two weeks due to my health and have been a customer since 2005. Huge Kudos to Magic Nails for taking Good CLEAN care of my diabetic feet for the past 4+ years. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!! (& I have been to MANY other salons, where on two occasions I got toenail infections) I have to mention that I was totally shocked to read the only other review for this salon! Got my nails done today and had an AWESOME experience (late on a Sunday afternoon). Here's the break down... The Good: 1) The moment I walked in the door they politely asked what services I needed, I was seated, and they asked if I would like coffee, tea, or water. 2) It is clean and has a nice/updated atmosphere. 3) They took quite a bit of time on the sugar scrub and massage portion of the pedicure. 4) EXCELLENT shellac manicure. Clean and precise. They took the time to cover then ends of my nails and double check to make sure the sides were nail polish free. The Bad: 1) I watched two different employees pick wedgies. Not so much bad as it was amusing. Made me chuckle. 2) They suggested additional services multiple times. Pedicure? Eyebrow wax? I took them up on the pedicure (I did not ask initially as it was close to closing), but turned down the eyebrow wax. They only asked once and did not ask in a pushy manner, but I still took notice. The Verdict: I will happily return! Only 4 stars because as yelp puts it, "Yay! I'm a fan." but I would not classify it under the "Woohoo! As good as it gets" category. read more

Always relaxing - a treat for busy people like me that have a hard time slowing down. Great attention to detail and my manicures/pedicures last a good 10 days (regular). Great pricing. For the price (much pricier than other local shops), I am very disappointed. I got gel shellac on my nails which was done very sloppily and unevenly. They go very deep on your cuticles so be careful if you're prone to bleeding. The pedicure was fine, but I'm prettt sure this manicure isn't going to last long as the shellac is on my skin and therefore much more prone to flaking. read more

Love this place ! Been going for a couple years now and whether it's alone or with a friend(s) it's always been great service !

I came to have my nails done here sometime back cloe to closing time and, while I think that it's great they accommodated me as a walk-in, I felt really worried that the cuticle nipper she used wasn't sanitized. Unlike with other nail salons, customers here can't see how they sanitized their tools. I've stopped coming here after that. I would pay a little bit more if I can actually see proof that my health won't be at risk than keep on going without knowing. Better safe than sorry. read more

The best place for waxing. I've gotten my eyebrows waxed at many places. I'm really picky. The only other place that did as good of a job as Magic Nails was Gene Juarez... for almost $50 bucks! Went here for the first time today... the worst nail experience I've had. One, they weren't busy at all and after they FINISHED my fill part of the acrylic was missing on one side, so you could see part of my natural and were the acrylic was. Second, they managed to file my skin raw on 2 fingers while shaping and cut my cuticle on another. Third, the shape of my nails are all different & are different lengths. When it came time to pay I said I shouldn't have to pay full price since nothing was done RIGHT the first time, the lady told me it doesn't matter if it was done right the first time because she still used her time. Would NOT recommend coming here unless you don't care about paying for poor quality nails. read more

This has been my "go to" place for a few years, but the last few times I have come in with my 7 year old, I have either felt rushed or forgotten. I always ask that my daughter be given an "adult" pedicure so she can have a massage, but they failed to do so and it made me feel so bad for my little girl. When they are not busy, you will get exceptional service....but their new normal seems to be that they are always busy whether or not you have an appointment. I won't be returning, but rather finding a place that takes appointments and keeps those appointments. read more

I was very disappointed in this place. My mom and I took my sister here for her birthday. We had an appointment ....we were in the pedicure chairs for what felt like 2 hours. They did my feet first which was lame since they said to my mom that they could do us all at the same time. An hour in they finally get to my sister.....Oh BUT WAIT. The women working here are among the friendliest and welcoming I have ever experienced. They all remember my name and I only come in every few months for a pedicure. Every person that has done my pedicure has always been thorough, detail oriented and gentle. They talk to me and other customers together and make it feel like a girls day at the salon. Heather the manager/owner is very kind and all the employees seem to enjoy the customers. They are efficient and I have witnessed them take multiple walk ins and juggle lots of customers without making anyone feel rushed. read more

I have to say I went back twice to this place and both times they cut by toe cuticles and it bled. They also scrubbed the bottom of my foot so hard it was raw. I will not be back. I don't understand how one experience was perfect and the next two were nightmares :( read more

Very disappointed. The employees were very nice but they rushed. My mom and I went today to get shellac manicures. We were in and out in 30 minutes. They did not spend enough time on our cuticles and the paint job is sloppy. I have two globs on the edges of my nails near the sides of my fingers. They did not paint the edges of your nails that stick out. Also, there is polish all around my fingers and they did not paint all the way to the cuticle. It was very disappointing. read more

I'd like to explain something before we get started here, I am NOT a nail lady. I loathe acrylic nails (the way they look, what they do to your nails), and I don't want anyone cutting my toe nails but me.... BUT for a classy gal like myself, I do like a groomed nail and nail polish. That being said, I looked for a place close to home, which this is, and although on the small side, it's quite clean and the ladies are all very sweet. My first visit was a 4 star visit. Fantastic job on my nails, and a great massage. The second visit however, was lackluster. They were busy, I'll give them that, but the girl cut my cuticles too deep, I bled on three fingers!!!!! Eeeeek! And no massage this time... what gives? Don't dip me into the relaxation pool one time then wrench me back violently on the other! Where shall I start? I booked an appointment a week before so I would not have to wait, which tends to happen in a lot of nail salons. The gal who started my deluxe manicure was amazing. She took her time and was very conversational. I told her I wanted paraffin wax and shellac. She put my hands in the wax then sat me in one of the massage chairs and went to help someone else. Three ladies walked in and asked for a pedi/mani. I was there along with three other ladies. There were only three workers. About 10 minutes later another lady Heather, came to take the paraffin wax off. On top of the seven of us that we're already in the salon an eighth lady walked in for a pedicure, what do you know they told her to come on in and have a seat. She specifically asked how long it would be and they replied with, not too long. You could tell Heather was freaking out because there were so many people waiting and not enough people to help them. Who's fault might that be? She did the quickest shellac ever which caused my shellac to peel off when she put the alcohol on it. She made some excuse about how it's the type of shellac and if I wanted to come in later she could redo it. Come in later?!?!?! I made the appointment specifically to get my nails done at 1 PM, not later. I Told her to slow down and maybe not say yes to every person who walks in wanting a pedicure manicure because you're short staffed. Needless to say, my nails look great and I didn't have to pay for the shellac and I was discounted for the deluxe manicure. She gave me a 20% off card for the next time I come in, oh, honey there will be no next time. read more

Tonight after getting my nails done just five days ago I came in to complain as my shellac was peeling off. I'm a very nice person, tip generously but when my shellac nails did not stay on after five days she told me that that was normal and that I'm just a type a customer that likes to complain. It's no wonder this location is always dead and has a measly three stars. They're happy to get into your back pocket and take your money. But if they do something wrong and you complain watch out they are nasty! I worked at Nordstrom for years, I would be fired if I treated my customers the way these owner do! I live just a few blocks away from this salon so its very convenient for me. However, I continue to be disappointed. I went there about a year ago to get a last minute manicure before a trip. I got a French manicure and it was very pretty until the first day of the trip. Only 2 days after I got them done, they started chipping and I had to fill the chips in with my own white polish which didn't look so pretty anymore. The second time I went was about 4 months ago. I was dying to get my nails done so I went and got a acrylic French manicure. I love arcylics but the afternoon after I got them done, they already started looking like they do after 3 weeks! I wasn't very happy because arcylics should last at least a few weeks. It cost $25 dollars. This most recent time, which was 5 days ago, I got acrylics again. I got all the same color. When I walked in, there were 2 people getting pedicures and 1 person getting a manicure. Another women and I were waiting for manicures. The women waiting with me had been waiting for 30 min before she was seated and I had waited 20 before I was seated. After I was seated I had to wait another 10 minutes before any one attended to me. The first lady was really rough with getting my nails ready. They then moved me to another women who painted them. I told her I had to be somewhere at a certain time. I regret saying that because from them on, she rushed through and although they aren't coming off yet, they look terrible. I was not impressed by the wait or the care. Both women repeatedly took their personal phones out to answer calls and made me wait. They took $5 off for the wait so I paid $20 and gave them no tip. Sucks!! I went there today, it took 2 hrs to get my nails done. And the owner did a crappy job. I had to ask her to take the excess polish off and it's because she painted my nails sloppy. And and there nail dyer isn't working, so I stayed there for 25 minutes to air dry my nails and they still got messed up when I got home. Never will go back again!! They look like crap! I just had the WORST pedicure I've ever had at Magic Nails. This is close to my house and I thought I would give it a try. I'll never go again as my regular spots in Edmonds are MUCH BETTER. I wasn't sure that they sterilized properly and they did not remove the calluses on my feet. The person who did my nails did a terrible job of cutting cutting them and the polish job is a mess. I've been here multiple times and the staff is always very friendly and welcoming. They do a very nice job and are very reasonably priced. I never feel rushed. I'm not a big fan of chatting when I occassionally get a manicure/pedicure and appreciate that they don't try to chat me up the entire time that I'm there. Customer service is A+. They stayed late for us the night before a big vacation to do 2 pedicures and a shellac. They do very good work and quickly. The service here was mediocre at best. I couldn't tell who was doing my nails because they had someone take off my polish and then I waited for a while, and then another person came to do my nails. Nobody told me that this is how they do it here, so I sat around and wondered what was going on. The lady doing my nails wasn't friendly and she constantly got up to help other people. That is the rudest thing these women do at nail salons. She also gave me the worst nail paint job that I have ever seen. I was almost embarrassed that I paid for that. I will never return here. WORST NAIL SALON EVER! I've been doing my nails for over 9 years and this place is the worst nail salon I've been to (out of many I've tried and even in different states)... I made an appointment, came in on time, and still had to wait nearly 40 minutes. I also had them do a bikini wax and the tech was unskilled. Put VERY hot wax on me, on both sides of the bikini line at the same time (oddly), and i believe let it dry to long before waxing it off. lets just say VERY PAINFUL. The strip stuck to my skin and nearly ripped my skin off. She had to TUG on it over multiple times just to get it off. She apologized and i told her my waxes have never been like this, is something wrong? She apologized and encouraged me to just lay back while she takes the other side off.... same thing happened, PAIN! I asked her to stop and she insisted that she could finish.. no! I immediately jumped up and left, with wax still on me and cotton ball pieces stuck to my bikini line from her trying to remove the wax still left on me. I opted to rather take the wax off at home myself. NEVER GOING BACK, BEWARE! read more
