This was my third event in the past two months and I had a fabulous experience with HMU in both Canada and Tacoma. So, please know that I am someone who frequently leaves a salon feeling happy and beautiful. Unfortunately, with Smoak, they left early and I was able to spend an hour correcting my HMU before my event. Two artists arrived and worked at the same time. One in the front and one in the back. To begin with, I asked for a natural look. Here were my makeup issues: -the lip liner was crooked- literally-one side was higher than the other -my eyebrows were enlarged and several shades darker than my natural color -mascara smudges and flakes under each eye -I kept telling my artist that there was a hair in my eye and she said ok and kept working. I kept trying to remove the hair but was in her way. This happened a few times and was frustrating. Here were the hair issues. I have beautiful curly hair and usually diffuse my hair curly. The artist told me not to do that, just to make sure it was dry. The inspiration picture I showed her had tight curls with horizontal twists and provided a floral hair piece. I received a hairstyle that appeared flat ironed and curled at the bottom while being frizzy at the top. The hair piece was placed high on the top instead of low like the inspiration pictures. Had I been readying for a stage play, I would have looked pretty good. However, for my wedding reception, they missed the mark entirely. They finished early by an hour and I had time to remove the enlarged eyebrows and reapply brow makeup, remove and redo the crooked lip liner/lipstick, remove the smudges under my eyes, and adding more curls with a curling iron. I'm posting the pictures of how I looked after other artists in Canada and Tacoma and then how I looked when the Smoak HMU artists left. I'm really sad about it all. I ended up feeling barely "presentable" instead of stunning and beautiful as I had from the previous HMU artists. Unfortunately, I'm not looking forward to my wedding reception pictures and am overall really unhappy

The mall closed at 9pm, and after consulting the mall's information board, I made it into Sandeep's chair at 8:43pm. (I know, not a great start.) I was truly embarrassed that I barely beat closing time, she was exhausted (I could see it on her face and she confirmed it), but I needed her... BAD! She pushed through, and even joked with me about the horrific state of my brows. Her work was fabulous, and because I still felt bad about closing time, I kinda' tried to rush her! She showed me my brows, they were perfect and I quickly sat up to leave, she practically pushed me back down! Sandeep proceeded to trim my brows with scissors. (Oh yeah, forgot that part! Great!) She showed me again, they were even more perfect, and I sat up again. She pushed me back down again and whips out a bow stencil, brow brush, and shadow. I reply, "Thank you, but that's really not necessary. It's late and I'm just going home to wash my face." Sandeep smiles, taps my shoulder (cue for me to shut up and lie down), and fills my brows in anyway. My brows were camera ready when I left. Who does that past closing time? I'll tell you who... friggin' Sandeep. That's who! Because of this epic introduction, she's my Mississippi brow girl from this day forward! P.S. My mother-in-law, who was with me watching from the waiting area, is now a fan also and can't wait to come back to Sandeep for her first threading! What a win tonight Sandi! You've won our hearts!

I will usually get them done every 3 to 4 weeks as I am a wfh office girl that doesn't really do manual labor. Usually, by the later half of the 2nd week/going into week 2, my nails will begin slightly lifting (enough that my hair gets caught sometimes) I got the nails you see in my picture done on December 3rd, 2025. My appt is set for this Wednesday, the 24th. Aside from growth and slight dulling from use, the GelX nails are completely stuck to my natural nail! There has not been a single lift or negative change. My tech was Emma and I *highly* recommend her if you want beautifully done, amazing nails! Not a good experience, and did I mention way over priced!!! $260 for 2 gel pedicures, a fill in and a regular gel manicure that I would normally pay 140 for!! My daughter's nails were uneven and the simple design was sloppy. I wasn't going to review this place but every time I walk I feel the toe nails on both feet cutting into me. I will probably get an ingrown toe nail now if I don't go have them redone! Very frustrating!
