I have mixed feelings about my experience. The job got done and only time will tell of the actual…read morequality and longevity but I'm left with a bit of hesitancy to recommend this company for the following reasons: 1. The initial estimate was done over the phone, and I was surprised that an in-person inspection and full, written estimate wasn't provided upfront detailing the material and labor costs. The cost seemed high at over $87 per linear foot of wood fascia board replacement, but, on short notice, I figured it's worth the promptness and commitment to get the job done by noon of the following day. 2. The job was promised to start at 8:30am, but the workers didn't get there until 1:30pm due to not having the ladder to reach the roof. Also, even with this unforeseen delay and no signed contract, I was asked to provide 50% deposit via Zelle upfront. Fine, things happen, and again the promised availability and full inspection and before-and-after pictures swayed my decision to keep the appointment intact. 3. During the job, I was told that the initial estimate was off by more than 30% and now, the replacement of the damaged fascia boards was going to cost me $143 per foot due to additional materials and carpentry required to mount the boards, soffits and gutters back into place. The materials as I understood were two 8' wood boards and 2 small wood blocks to secure the installation. 4. The job site was not left clean; my wife had to pick up plastic water bottles, nails and a used surgical mask. This is unacceptable. 5. I was never given the proper inspection of the chimney's roof transition with pictures as promised, and the rest of the experience was a mixed bag of suggested repairs and improvements that, frankly, lacked credibility or prior customer referrals. 6. I asked for additional estimates on minor improvements with existing gutter installation but instead was given a full house replacement quotes which were way beyond any reasonable cost.

09/24/25 - My front stair was in need of repair. My existing stair has a concrete base. The…read moreexisting concrete stair was covered w/an epoxy finish w/aggregate embedded in the epoxy base. Over the years the base started to chip & deteriorate. I was suppose to have the original contractor come out & refinish the coat every year or every other year, unfortunately this company went out of business. I saw an ad for a different type of flooring w/a polyaspartic base coat which is suppose to be more durable than epoxy. After an estimate & deposit was made w/Comer & Cross came out started grinding the existing coat off. After an hour of grinding my stair they told me they couldn't do the job because a corner of the concrete was chipped and they don't do concrete work. WTF? After I went through this fiasco w/Comer & Cross. My buddy told me about JL Concrete Design in Addison. I called them and spoke to Julia who was very helpful & friendly. She sent Joe out to take a look at the stair the next day. After inspecting the stair he gave me a quote, scheduled a repair. Joe came out as planned & finished the stair in less than1 day.
