After an extensive search of nearby Chinese restaurants, after our 20 year favorite changed hands, we have found a gem in the rough. The owners of this restaurant are concerned with the fresh and healthy presentation of their dishes. The gravies are traditional in flavor but light in body, allowing the diner to taste the food under the sauce. No gloppy cornstarch gravies here. The egg foo young is lightly fried, not greasy and has a wonderful fresh egg flavor. The shrimp are large, juicy and very fresh. You can discuss your spice level preferences when you placing your order and they are followed. The hot and sour soup is amazing not only in the spicing but in the combination of ingredients in the soup. The pricing is reasonable for the quality and service in the Naperville/Lisle area. This is my favorite Chinese restraunt. Clean and friendly and I have never had a bad dish here. The egg drop soup is the best in town and I have tried all in Lisle. I placed an order on Yelp. We never tried this place before. We ordered Shrimp Fried Rice, Chicken Lo Mein, Beef Chop Suey and Mongolian Beef. The food was ok. It was very vegetable heavy and not a lot of meat. I went to pick up my order that I placed at 6:30 and my order wasn't ready until 7:20. There were open foil serving containers on the floor under one table. Didn't seem very clean to me. I won't go back. read more

We were visiting from out of town and were guided there by yelp. Overall, the food was outstanding and the price was reasonable. Especially notable were the old-style egg rolls (deep fried with "bumps"), fried rice, hot and sour soup, and the freshness and crispness of the stir fried vegetables. As for the latter, I think they have a very hot wok and a cook who knows how to use it. Very impressive. Service was good and the owner was present and friendly. Placed a carryout order for the first time last week. All of the food was correct, neatly packed, included plenty of extra utensils/napkins. I was really bummed about the closure of New Beijing in Glen Ellyn, but not anymore. This will be my go-to place for Chinese from now on. I recommend the Creamy Pecan shrimp! Next time will dine in. Fantastic little find. Went there for their lunch special. Ordered the chicken/vegetable item. It came with soup, drink, egg roll, and fried/white rice. Great service and real authentic food! They have the kind of Americanized Chinese food that some people love but they also have really great authentic dishes. The server was very friendly and always gave us refills on tea. Would recommend. They have takeout like normal takeout places but also a very clean seating area that we dined in. I kept driving past this spot ever since it opened and never saw any people inside. Finally my son was with me and we just decided to stop in and check it out. Glad we did. The menu is interesting. Left side is traditional items you will see in better chinese restaurants and the right side is that "secret chinese menu" wiith different items listed. It has a bit of chinese on it but then has everything in english. Nice. Well we tried the hot and sour soup (traditional) very good; we weren't quite ready to try the the other version which included fish. Pot stickers were great. One of my favorite appetizers. Then the fun. I went for the boiled pork in sichuan oil, my son just went with mandarin beef. Our steamed rice came out and then the beef. Then the clock started ticking. A bit of a wait for the pork; but well worth it. A bit intimidating as this huge bowl filled with a steaming broth and covered with generous amounts of peppers arrives. Not sure which part of the pig is used, I suspect jowls and similar but forgot to ask. This was very good. Like an adventure as you fish out the meat from below the peppers. Not overly spicy, just right, Great flavor. And the leftovers just improve in flavor overnight. The beef was loaded with onions (yum) and had a slightly sweet flavor. Was different from what I have mostly tasted (reminded me of a chnese restaurant in Moraine, OH that I ate at CJ Chan). The beef was incredibly tender. Very good dish. While we were there the phone kept ringing with people placing take out orders. And best part was that a lot of chinese people were coming in, always a good sign. Can't wait for my next adventure here. Thinking of one of the chicken dishes. They come with the bone in and I think I know what it will be like. And before I forget, order the hot tea. Great egg rolls for appetizer. Orange chicken was crispy yet tender on the inside. You must try their iron wok preparation. We had their delight version with beef, chicken and shrimp. Real deal. I'm Taiwanese-American and travel the globe looking for authentic flavors. Extensive menu- some dishes don't translate well but ask the owner what's good.
