I reached out to one technician. They charged an unbelievably low price. I then called Leo from Kai Electric to price shop. Leo picked up and was very nice on the phone. He quoted me over the phone based on my description of the issue. But he told me if the first guy was serious, it was a good price. So I called back the first guy. Through a series of unfortunate events, it became very clear to me that Leo was right. The first guy was unserious and unprofessional. I called Leo back. He came out the NEXT MORNING to confirm the price and take pictures. He sent me a reminder text the day before. They were on time the morning of. He had previously advised that I would be without power for approximately 6 hours to replace the panel. I was out for exactly six hours. He and his workers were friendly, efficient, and professional. He even installed a GFCI outlet, which was something that we found during his work and not previously quoted. I have a Tesla and will be calling Kai Electric back out to install my EV charger. Lights were not even good, they install in the morning and have no idea how it'll turn out and was so arrogant on the phone until I showed him the pictures, only then they came to adjust it initially claiming it's at no additional charges but then send me another invoice. Update: the company is now actually having a defamation attorney threatening to sue me unless I take down the bad review and blackmail me into paying over the quoted price !! Guess that explains how there's only good reviews here. If you give them a bad review for a shitty job they threaten with litigations so people back out. Don't fall for it, see for yourself !!

But it seems that era has ended. I came in a hot mess, I have no design skills. I relied on the sales person to help me and I thought she was amazing. She was kind, patient and seemed to really get me and my condo style - benig "vintage" and wanting to modernize was beyond me. She was super helpful and made me feel like she knew exactly what I needed. That was until I left the showroom. I ordered two ceiling fans from her that day, it wasn't cheap. I also ordered one I'd found on my own online. I hired someone reputable to install them for me and I was all set. But then they left and within days the two I purchased from Crest (different manufacturers) were both on the fritz. Hard to believe for sure, but both manufacturers agreed this was a fluke and they both had inherent issues requiring replacement. And then I had to replace them, which meant I had to pay for the labor again. One of the fixtures is in a room I hadn't needed the fan for in the first year. But then I did, and it didn't work. At that same time I noticed the on/off switch wasn't working properly either. I called the manufacturer and they agreed it was a warranty claim and to call Crest to replace the wall switch. Not something I feel comfortable doing on my own. When I talked to Crest, they said they'd order me a part and well... they did but never called to tell me it had come in. I called on my own three weeks later and they said it was there waiting for me. I verified I could wait for the weekend to get it. Of course they are closed on Sundays so It had to be during the short Saturday hours. I raced to get there in the window only to find a lot of confusion. It wasn't waiting for me at all. The woman who said she'd call me was there and surprised I was asking questions. She said she hadn't heard back from the manufacturer to answer my question about paying for labor, and they all just threw their hands up and said they couldn't help me because the manager wasn't there. Let's just say it's the end of an era and I won't be back for business in the future. Good luck with your purchases after you leave the store.
