I had the banana pudding, it was perfectly moist and not too strong on the banana. The beers were cold and refreshing on a sat night listening to live bands? Couldn't get any better! Def recommend Steel wheel for a drama free night out. But keep in mind they do get pretty busy by like 6pm. I believe they do take reservations, def make one if you plan on visiting. Otherwise you'll be on top of others by the bar aka don't be that annoying kinda person.

We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.

Despite advertising themselves on their website as "THE place to watch sports", they weren't showing a major football game on TV because it was on a streaming platform they didn't subscribe to. Sure, there's a varied media landscape in sports right now, but then maybe consider how you brand yourself ("among the best sports bars in Bergen County"). One round of vodka sodas arrived with an impressive commitment to soda and little else. We let the server know, and he eventually brought replacements--but left the originals behind. While waiting, eventually one of us was thirsty and drank the original, mostly out of thirst since it was mainly seltzer anyway. When the bill came, both of the drinks we complained about were still on it. Asking about the charge seemed to cause some offense. A manager appeared, planted himself at our table, and delivered a brief lecture about how much of a drink is allowed to be consumed before questioning it. It was less "customer service" and more "disciplinary hearing," complete with looming posture, hands on the table, and an authoritative tone that suggested we were the problem for noticing. I honestly can't recall another experience quite like this. If you enjoy watered-down cocktails, missed games, and being talked down to for making reasonable requests, this might be your spot. Otherwise, save yourself the time and money.

Michael is the manager of events that take place at Ramsey Country Club. When we meet with him to discuss our thoughts on our wedding he informed us that his main concern was (not me) my wife. After confirming everything that we wanted, from an outside wedding to a 3-piece jazz ensemble for the cocktail hour to our course selection and wedding band, etc., etc. Michael explained that my future wife to be was his main concern. That he'll be with her from the time she gets there (early with bridesmaids & makeup, hairdresser people) he'll be the one making sure all her needs are taken care of ... from trays of food to drinks (cocktails to coffee). Even taking care of legal paperwork for the marriage, to keeping her informed of where her future husband was and the guests arriving. Michael was at my wife's beck and call. She had no worries, just enjoy the day. Till this day she still sings his praise. Making our wedding "THE BEST". When you plan an event at The Abbey you get Michael, which means you get the best. Hate to say this ... but when you pick The Abbey your getting Michael & that's what matters. You pay a premium when you choose Ramsey Country Club. I could have chosen other top venues for our wedding and paid less. But after researching all, seeing the reviews, it wasn't about the money, I wanted the BEST. I got that with Michael and Ramsey Country Club.

For $15, we expected at least 3 empanadas, but, nevertheless, they were very tasty and filled to the brim with brisket. They also came with queso and salsa for dipping. ++++ Tacos de Amor special with grilled skirt steak tips, garlic shrimp on corn tortillas was verrrrry good. The meats had delicious flavor and there was no skimping, however, we figured after our meal that the chimichurri was actually missing :( ++++ Fish Tacos with beer battered cod filets was excellent! It was topped with jalapeño tartar sauce and slaw and I absolutely devoured it! The fish was crispy and cooked well. ++++ Kids Cheese Quesadillas was as you would expect for kids quesadillas. They were super thin, with a layer of cheese, but our kids enjoyed it. + Waiter was great. He checked in on us a few times and made sure we had everything we needed. + Food arrived quickly. + Restaurant was VERY spacious with 2 separate dining rooms. + Plenty of parking outside as the restaurant is part of a super large strip mall. + There are a few large TVs in the dining room with the bar. My (now) husband and I had our dream wedding here and it couldn't have been more perfect. We would do it over the same exact way every single time. For a couple who loves NYC and wanted to bring the vibe to NJ (where my husband grew up), the ambiance of PWL was everything we wanted. The exposed brick is beautiful and the space is so beautiful. I had the best customer service experience of my life working with the venue coordinator, Chris Ryter. We could not have had the day we did without him. Chris took care of EVERYTHING for us from the actual day we met - things I would never have thought of. He made the entire process so seamless. Leading up to the wedding, I gave him a 5 page "master doc" with what we had envisioned in terms of decor/set up and the execution was flawless. The entire staff was checking on us the entire night if we needed anything - from a tide to go stick to a glass of champagne. The food was delicious and everyone had a blast at the bar. If you're nosy like me, these were the entree selections we chose: - Roasted Amish Chicken Breast with Mushroom Marsala and Roasted Fingerling Potatoes - Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Tomato, olive, onion & basil and Grilled Zucchini Squash - Baked Ziti basil, ricotta, mozzarella

It was on the quieter slower side for reservations which was more enjoyable. We started off with appetizers besides the table bread. The cheesy bread is a favorite compared to their normal bread. The Asian calamari from the specials list was not something I personally enjoyed as I'm not a teriyaki sauce person and the rings were a bit chewy. The ahi tuna everyone at my table seemed to enjoy as well. The clams casino were personally my favorite and I do wish we had ordered two of them as the clams were very small. Onto entrees most of us ordered some type of steak. Filet mignon, NY strip, or braised short rib. All were cooked to our perfect temperatures and well flavored. A bonus is that all entrees come with a salad, baked potato, or fries instead of having to order sides à la carte. The halibut oreganata was also delicious and a huge portion as well. I will say dessert was probably my least favorite part of the meal. The chocolate cake I had was just ehh it was extremely sugary and the vanilla ice cream tasted like breyers to me. The cookie dough cake was the best option our table chose as it was unique and well presented and not overly sweet at all. The coconut sorbet was alright but an extremely small portion for $12. The cannoli was also interesting and I would probably not order again as it tasted more meringue and sweet than the typical ricotta cannoli filling. Overall a good meal but we definitely could have changed the appetizers we ordered, and ordered no desserts. Our server Rolando was fantastic. We never had to ask for water, drinks to be filled, and he happily accommodated any questions or requests we had.
