I've been to more than my fair share of weddings over the years (not to be cruel but some of the…read moreworst receptions ended in divorce... someone needs to write their doctorate on that). Seasons is easily one of the best places I've been to, hands down. The outside/grounds - beautiful. Inside - equally impressive. Cocktail hour - ridiculously over-the-top. The entrees later in the night - (here is where most places - even top-dollar banquet halls stumble, right?) - incredible. How they could knock out hundreds of plates that all looked good and at my specific table we ordered all the options and everyone was happy (and stuffed). Desserts - (another time a lot of places falter) - a delicious 'sampler platter' of Italian greatest hits (tiramisu, cannoli, etc.), and each one was a hit. Valet parking - funny enough when we first pulled in the guy just pointed at a spot for me to park in and later it was a blessing in disguise since I could just leave on my own, so I can't really comment here. Only issue - the damn volume of the DJ and music but that's on them and not Seasons. (I lost my voice - so I guess I had a great time, huh?!) Loved every minute I was here to celebrate a cousin's wedding.

Hiring Shirley as our day coordinator was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We had…read morea big wedding with 250 guests and I was anxious all the way up to the day of the wedding, but I was surprised by how much fun we ended up having at our wedding. I would say one big reason is because of Shirley who was there with us every step of the day. I knew I wanted a day of coordinators who are not only bilingual, but also know the Chinese wedding customs. We had many Chinese guests and family members who did not speak English, and this was the first wedding of parents from both sides. I wanted to make sure we have a good time, and our parents are also well taken care of since we will be too busy to tend to them. We had all our vendors booked before hiring Shirley so we booked the classic package. For this package, Shirley started working with us about 6 weeks before the wedding. She introduced herself to our vendors and made sure they had the itinerary before the wedding, attended zoom meeting with us when requested, and she was quick to respond to our requests and questions. Our wedding included elements from both Chinese and Western weddings, it was a 14-hour day including getting ready, gatecrashing, two tea ceremonies, photoshoots, a first look, ceremony, a quick first dance practice, receptions, and three dress changes (7a-11 pm)! With so much to do, we had a tight itinerary, and Shirley made sure the right people was at the right place at the right time so we are on schedule. She communicated with our wedding party on what's next on the itinerary, and guided our parents through the itinerary. Shirley did a mini rehearsal with our parents for the ceremony and reception introduction on the day, and made sure they were there to see our first look through the window without interrupting our own moments. We highly recommend Shirley to anyone who is looking for a wedding planner or day-of coordinator.

We did not know exactly what a Chinese and Vietnamese wedding fusion would look like and Shirley had some valuable experience to guide us. She was very honest and told us right off the bat if something wasn't going to work and how we could work around it. She did not pressure us to use her floral and decorating company, Jelo, but we did because it was so beautiful and flexible. She is very accommodating and knowledgeable about the wedding industry. Without her, we could not have planned our wedding so beautifully and although it was mentally draining to plan the wedding, Shirley definitely took a load off! Definitely consider hiring her if you are planning an Asian wedding!

However, as the groom, I absolutely did not have to endure a 'bridezilla.' Jacqueline and Darryl were the primary factors for this. Jacqueline was at every dress fitting, and the bridal shower. She helped form the strategic plan, but was on point with the smallest of details. The contacts they had for every imaginable service made planning a breeze. Although they are very busy (for obvious reasons), they promptly replied to every email, text message and phone call. They went above and beyond to serve as referee, counselor, mediator, and fixer. I cannot accurately describe how reassuring it is having a go-to (or two) to put out any fires or better yet, prevent them before they started. For brides-to-be, you will not find a better planner with more solid contacts in the industry. For grooms, cut the check! In retrospect I would have paid triple what they charged for the quality of life and piece of mind leading up to the events, and for the smile on the face of my beautiful bride on the day of. I ordered lilies to be sent as a loose English garden arrangement, not tight and structured. The arrangement cost a total of $435 and legit looks like it came from my local grocery store. It was hideous, and looked like tall soldiers with ugly greenery around you would find in an arrangement pre-made at the store. The recipients were not happy either. Just overall disappointed and would not use Ovando again when sending flowers in New York. Only giving two stars because the person who took my order was really helpful and nice. I asked for a partial refund and they gave me $54, laughable. I could have made a better arrangement myself from Trader Joe's lilies. Do not use Ovando, you're better off visiting your local grocery store. Wasn't planning on writing this review but dealing with them after the fact and receiving that refund is insulting.

She made herself available for a phone call within the next day, and got me a quote the day following. While all of that sounds like maybe it's standard, I called other planners who took days to reply between exchanges, if they replied at all! Bianca's timely communication continued as we worked together. She quickly made progress in getting quotes from caterers, reserving fun activities for kids, and setting up systems for RSVPs. Bianca was also extremely reasonable on price and quick to come up with fun but affordable ways to make our reunion feel special. She was also just really cheerful and pleasant to talk to. Sadly the reunion ultimately got canceled (absolutely nothing to do with Bianca's work, just internal disagreements among alum about the plan) so we didn't get to see her work come to fruition but I'm confident it would have been great. Upon my canceling, Bianca kindly and unexpected refunded me some of the deposit I had paid her, which I thought was above and beyond. If I ever need to plan another event in Dutchess County I will be calling Bianca. Thanks Bianca!
