I had been wanting to try this cafe and realized I was nearby one day and would give it a try. I have mixed thoughts, so I'll start with the best thing. The food was actually amazing, especially for a casual cafe environment. I had the loaded avocado toast which came with two slices toast with creamy avocado spread across it, cherry tomatoes, a sprinkle of feta cheese, a balsamic vinegar sauce. For my daughter I ordered the waffles with berries. This was slightly smaller than I expected but delicious. So sugary and flavorful. And I had a honey cinnamon latte which I also felt was full of flavor and had lots of cinnamon (I've had this in other places where I felt the flavor and cinnamon were lacking). That being said, it took 24 minutes to get our food which I think is a bit excessive for this environment. There was only one girl working when we were there and lots of people. Also, the bill for all that (plus an apple juice) was $53 and change including tip! (I paid that same amount recently at a cute sit down restaurant where the meal was big enough to have plenty of leftovers). The ambiance had a clean, minimalist aesthetic with pretty decor pieces. It was very quiet too... about halfway through my visit, they turned on some music, but it was still a quiet, calm environment with the music. I prefer a busier, fun type of vibe, but for those who are looking for something very serene and calm this would be an ideal place to relax or get some work done as long as you're willing to wait for your food! read more

This place was busy which just goes to show that it's good. The service that day was a little slow (but again, it was busy). There was of plenty of seating inside either at a table, couch coffee table or even a barstool along the wall. The bacon, ham, egg, and cheese on a croissant was phenomenal and it came out almost straight away. Magic City Perks is a great spot to grab a drink, bite, or work from in Kendall. I typically work from the Starbucks in the London Square plaza but decided to work from a new spot and this place was recommended to me. There's parking in the lot both in front of and behind the business. I parked behind and didn't even know it until walking into Magic City Perks. This spot is super spacious with plenty of lighting and seating. The menu has a lot of drink options to choose from and even has some bites and baked goods. During my last visit, I was intrigued by their Fall specials and at first ordered a matcha lavender latte but after placing my order, I saw that they had pistachio matcha so I had to change it. They were super nice about accommodating my updated order and the staff was super friendly. If you know me, I'm a sucker for pistachio matcha and most places only have it as a seasonal special so I HAD to get it. It did not disappoint! I honestly can't wait to come back here just to get it again. With plenty of seating and outlets inside, this spot is a great place to remote work from! I had a cappuccino, an avocado, turkey, bacon, and egg croissant (I opted for no egg). The croissant was great. The cappuccino was okay for me; it was very strong. I was in the area and wanted to stop for some coffee and decided to give this one a shot. I got an iced caramel latte I believe which was good. I also got a tuna salad croissant, which was absolutely delicious but I think the star the show is the customer service I was provided with. Leaving a review after my second visit and I'm happy to report I will be coming back whenever I'm in the area! One thing I would say they excel at is a good seasonal menu-- one time I think I had a chocolate cherry latte and this visit the winter drinks were in full swing including an eggnog latte! The coffee is fantastic and I also had a mushroom and cheese empanada that was absolutely delicious. The only downside to this place is possibly that it's tricky to find within the shopping plaza but make sure you find it because its worth the hunt! The space itself isn't super inviting--would love to see some more comfy seating but there is plenty of space which is a plus for large groups! Come check them out! read more

Chocolate chip cookies are as good as ever, the honey cinnamon latte (with real honey for me, not syrup) was also very good. The pain au chocolat is huge! So worth it! The food all looks so delicious. The hardest part was making up my mind. I decided to go with the strawberry Nutella croissant, which was absolutely delicious. I've been coming here a few times a year, trying different items off their menu. This croissant is delicious!! The matcha is okay. I've had the seasonal cherry flavor and the normal matcha latte, and I find the matcha powder itself to be a bit too bitter for me. The owners are so down-to-earth. Was my first time visiting the coffee shop. The ambiance was pretty cute and the girls at the front were super helpful with helping me pick out my items. I got a club sandwhich and ice coffee, both pretty tasty. I got to sit down, enjoy my meal and do some work on my laptop. The experience took a complete 180 when one of the owners arrived and started being incredibly loud. He was talking about how he doesn't really care for the business and that he's just there to collect money. He was coaxing customers to pay in cash so he can take it and buy groceries That is such wild customer service. Completely gave me the ick and I decided to pack up and leave. Such a nice little coffee shop! I felt very welcomed as soon as I came in and was greeted. The coffee shop is actually bigger than I thought. It's very clean and spacious. Makes a nice place to study! I ordered a custom drink. I had an iced pumpkin chai latte! I definitely recommend it! Unfortunately very slow service. I typically like small local spots due to bringing peace and not needing to wait long. Some plates were overpriced and came with not enough for the price. That's fine, but let me know before I buy. No substitute or anything on the plate either. Kind of lame if you pay high prices for something that isn't complete. I looked for my fellow YELPERS when looking for some delicious coffee and not wanting to support the big box places like Starbucks, Sergios, Casavana. I wanted a small business, and I found my new favorite coffee place, Magic City. It's a nice small boutique style location, with ample seating and parking in the plaza. From the moment I walked in, I was immediately greeted and welcomed in. I looked at their chalk menu for specials along with the back board and their assortment of pastries on display. I asked for recommendations and wanted the combo of flavor and strength to wake me up in a coffee. A cappuccino was the winner, and not only did its job in waking me up, but the flavor and awesome design really made me love this place. There is an assortment of flavors with coffee and pastries, along with some great, simple options for breakfast. This is definitely bit a Denny's or IHOP, so if your looking for a full breakfast menu and more, your a little limited in the menu. But if it's coffee, then you've come to the right place. I've now come a few more times and plan on becoming a regular. I will definitely open up my coffee taste buds up in order to find the right flavor and blend for me. He stayed with them until the very end, even though his staff told him they could handle closing down by themselves. He seems very hands on, and helped clean up the plate when I was done with the food. - The place closes at 6pm but they do lock one of the doors at around 5pm (the other side is still open for last minute customers but they do block off the sitting area). The owner told me I could stay as long as I want even to the 6pm and to not mind them as they were cleaning up, which was greatly appreciated. I know some cafes I've gone to study at would try to shoo people camping out there away 30 minutes before closing FOOD/DRINKS: - Croque Monsier (5/5): Ordered this on a whim since the Ham & Cheese croissant I ordered the last time was good but left me wanting something more. And wow, another great recommendation by one of the ladies working there. The sourdough bread has go to be one of the best I've ever tasted - slightly tangy and coated with a mouthwatering layer of crunchy melted cheese. The ham inside added a hint of sweetness, was not too stacked inside like a block of meat which I hate when they do that to sandwiches, and was resting in a bed of more melted cheese. It is a bit heavy and I felt pretty sluggish for a bit after devouring it but definitely worth ordering again - Macchiato (5/5): I feel like this place really prides itself in high quality ingredients and their coffee is no exception. Went on a Sunday morning to get a pick me up coffee and Magic City Perks did not disappoint. The whole plaza is relatively new and tried it for first time. Area is nice and quiet, and this cafe offers both inside and outdoor seating. Inside, there is plenty of space and nice for coffee dates, meetings, or simply just chilling there. I got the almond croissant (delicious!!) and an iced vanilla latte. They had a decent variation of breakfast items so there is something for everyone. I used to go more often to this cafe because I had a friend who worked there in theory early stages of opening! Omg such a yummy local cafe. They have delicious bakery goodies and their coffees and teas are perfect, literally not too sweet or too bland. The service is very friendly and quick and the ambience is great for a chill catch up with friends or to work/study.
