This is by far the WORST mechanic I have ever been to, I wish Yelp would let me give them a "0". Before I start just let me say that Joe and Gio at the front desk were cool and tried to fix problems, but Andy the mechanic and Moe the owner are ridiculous pieces of s**t! I bought a used pickup from a friend and the first night I had it the alternator gave out on my way home. I took it to Magic and literally said "the alternator needs to be replaced." I was told my alternator was "hard to find" (a tactic we all know to be BS), and that it would cost $350 to replace. I told Joe that I was going to pass as I was told by the tow truck driver that picked up my truck that he knew a guy that would come to my house and replace it for $200-$250 depending on how much he could find the alternator for. I relayed this information to Joe which he responded with "Okay, when are you going to pick up your truck?" I told him I would be in the following day and we hung up. Not even 5 minutes later he called me back and said he talked to his boss and could go as low as $290, but that if I wasn't going to have it done they were going to charge me $60 for the diagnosis (even though I knew what was wrong and told them what needed to be replaced). Basic math tells you that $60 for diagnosis and $250 for the work would result in $310 for the other guy to do it (if he charged me the max, which I'm assuming he would), so I reluctantly agreed to have Magic do the work. It was replaced and I didn't have another problem with that particular part. I did have to go back for my tail lights not working, to which Joe personally worked on my truck on his lunch break and fixed the problem. When I brought my truck back is where the issues began. I had taken the truck to get a smog check so that I could register it in my name, but it had failed. The smog technician had told me he believed the EGR valve needed to be replaced or cleaned and that there was a hole somewhere in the exhaust. I took my truck back to Magic on the following Friday. I was called later that day by Gio and told that the EGR valve needed to be replaced, the fuel regulator needed to be replaced, the rear differential gasket/pinion seal needed to be replaced, and that the muffler/exhaust was aftermarket and the muffler had cracks as well as the exhaust pipe had holes (all the while being guaranteed that I would have the truck back end of day Saturday or first thing Monday). I called Saturday afternoon as I was never given a courtesy call to let me know if it would be done Saturday or Monday, to which I was told there was a lot of work to be done and it would be done first thing Monday. Naturally, I show up on Monday morning to pay and pick up my truck to which I was told it was not ready. I explained to Joe how I was guaranteed by Gio that it would be ready and then was introduced to Andy (the POS mechanic working on my truck). POS Andy literally told me "Sorry, the truck should have been done on Saturday but I had a long day and was tired so I went home early." What kind of business practice is this?! I was told my truck would be done in 2 hours, to which I had to call my boss and ask if it was okay. He told me it was alright if I stayed late. I went home and received a call from my boss almost 4 hours later asking where I was. I called Magic asking what was going on and if "they were trying to get me fired" to which I was told it would be another hour! I told Joe it was ridiculous and wasn't going to work so he told me to come in and get the company car. I was given a Mercury Mountaineer that had a low right rear tire, leaked oil (which stained my driveway), and had a service engine light on. I couldn't believe they even felt comfortable giving a customer this vehicle! My truck was not done in the hour as promised, but it didn't really matter as I had driven the POS they had given me to work. I brought it back the next day (after I filled the tank back to where it was) and got my truck back only to be greeted by the POS Andy who told me I needed to replace my catalytic converter to pass smog, (mind you I thought they had done all the work necessary to pass) and also that the starter needed to be replaced. They recommended me to RG Brakes (their "sister company" owned by the same POS Moe) to get it done. I made an appointment with Gill to get it done and he was great! He did the exact job I asked him to do (as told by Magic), but had found a coolant leak by the firewall and informed me about it. I headed to get another smog check, knowing that I would get the coolant leak fixed later. I went to the smog shop only for him to tell me the exhaust still had a hole. I immediately called Magic to find out why it hadn't been fixed and told that they didn't do that there and needed to go to RG Brakes for that work. CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS: I called RG back and Gill was awesome yet again and told me to bring it right back in and it would take less time than it did for the catalytic converter. I took it back to find out the muffler was completely fine but the exhaust did have holes. I ended up replacing the muffler as Gill told me if I was going to do it now was the time. I was already planning to do it anyway so I had him do it and he was honest on what needed to be done and gave me a good price. He finished and I took it back to the smog shop, which it passed thankfully. I ended up borrowing money from my parents to be able to take the truck back in to Magic to get the starter replaced as well as look into the coolant leak, and the rear differential that was still leaking (which I had already paid to fix). I had previously called that week to schedule the appointment for Saturday as they had to order the starter (which I found out later they overcharged me - as well as EVERYTHING else they had done to my truck). I brought my truck in and POS Andy happened to walk in and said he knew about the coolant leak by the firewall, to which I asked why I had not been informed about as I would have fixed it the last time my truck was in. He didn't even have an excuse to my question but said he would fix it with the promise that it would be done by end of day, to which I had to call (about 1:30pm) to find out when it would be ready. I was told all that was left was the rear differential and it would be done by end of day. I received a call about 3:15 (mind you they closed at 4) telling me that the POS Andy (yes, I keep referring to him as "POS Andy" because he is in fact a POS mechanic) broke a piece in my truck at the front of my engine and they weren't able to get the part until Wednesday! Gio told me to come in and get a company car they had. I was greeted by Gio and POS Andy who explained the piece he broke was at the front of my engine, when he knew the leak was at the rear of the engine by the firewall (as he previously mentioned he knew about, but decided not to tell me about). He then tried to tell me that he would cover the labor, but I would have to cover the cost of the part. I literally walked away as I couldn't deal with anymore of his BS, and went into the office to deal with Gio. I was completely upset and took it out on Gio, which I later apologized for and he understood. He tried to correct the situation by giving me the company car - the Mercury Mountaineer. I refused to take it (as I told Gio about all the problems with it), to which he tried calling his boss, Moe, who didn't answer. Eventually Gio got a hold of someone (after I told him either the company or POS Andy was paying for a rental car), and a "loaner truck" arrived from RG Brakes for me to use while my truck was being fixed after POS Andy broke it. The Dodge Ram truck was in better condition than the POS Mercury but was still in piss poor shape, (the rear bumper was all bent and dinged up as well as the rest of the truck, and the dashboard was literally in pieces..not to mention the MIL light (Malfunction Indicator Light) came on while I was driving). At least they gave me a vehicle to drive right? Even though I had to pay twice as much to fill it back up to where it was than my truck would have cost. As I was getting in the truck to leave Gio told me Moe (the owner) would call me Monday..as you guessed it, he NEVER called me. I received a text Wednesday about 4:30 saying my truck would be ready by 11 the next day (which it wasn't) but that the needed replacement part was received and Moe was test driving it and there were no signs of leakage. I called confused (if the part was replaced and there was no sign of leakage than why wasn't my truck ready?), to which I was told the part just arrived and Moe would be working on it personally the following morning (at this point they had supposedly fixed the coolant leak but the rear differential that I had previously paid for wasn't fixed properly). Did I just catch them in a lie? I then asked why it was driven earlier that day (my wife picked up my kids from school and saw my truck being driven), to which I was told the coolant leak was fixed and being road tested. So remember how my truck was supposed to be ready by 11? I finally get a text at 12:37 saying it's ready. I go in and talk to Gio, who tells me Moe wants to talk to me. He tried protecting POS Andy by telling me it was an old truck and the parts were brittle, to which I told him POS Andy had absolutely no business being by the front of my engine as he previously told me he knew about the leak at the rear of my engine by the firewall but didn't inform me of. DO NOT GO HERE!! My mom took her car in due to a misfire, I suspected a bad coil pack to be the cause. They checked it out and found some rodent had dined on the wire for the coil pack. ok makes sense that is the problem. They also stated that the rear brakes needed to be done, and the pad where at 1% of life left. Sounds good so far... then the quote came in. The quoted to replace the coil pack, the injector (no clue why they felt the injector needed to be replaced) an injector cleaning, and rear brakes totaling $1215.54 I felt that was WAY too high to for the work that needed to be done (they double charged labor on some of the repairs) and I told my mom to pick it up and I would do the work for her. So here is the truth as to what was wrong. Some rodents did dine on the wires for the coil pack which was causing the misfire, fixed the wire, problem solved! It cost $2.99 for supply's to correct the issue. Coil pack was fine, and still no clue why they thought to injector needed to be replaced. Moved on to the brakes... the pads have easily 60% of life left on them! Posted picture for proof. These people saw an older lady come in thinking she would approve anything they put on the quote and cranked up the price. They are un-ethical and should not be in business. I think what makes me even more mad, is when she went to pick it up they charged her $115 for a "diagnostic fee" and all they did was pull the engine cover off, (2 screws) saw the wires, and drew up an inflated quote. Avoid Magic Auto at All Costs - The Epitome of Poor Service My blood boils just thinking about the utter disappointment and immense frustration my family has experienced with Magic Auto. We handed over a family heirloom, a truck recently restored and intended as a gift for our son, expecting professional service. Instead, we were met with damage to our vehicle, blatant disregard for our concerns, and a shocking absence of professionalism and decency. Not only did they carelessly store our vehicle in an unsecured parking lot, but their communication was deplorably poor. When we discovered the damage and voiced our concerns, they had the audacity to hide behind a vague, poorly-worded clause on the estimate, refusing to take responsibility. Requests for security footage - cameras placed after a break in - that could shed light on the situation were met with complete silence. But the real kicker? Despite the glaring evidence and clear fault, Magic Auto has made no effort to rectify the situation. They've not paid a cent towards the repair costs, haven't responded to our numerous calls, and even ignored signature-verified documents. It's a stunning display of disregard and disrespect towards their customers. Due to their appalling conduct, we've had no choice but to file a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. If their silence continues, we'll fully take this matter to small claims court. For your sanity, avoid Magic Auto like the plague. Their lack of integrity and customer care is simply unacceptable. Daniel, the service advisor, was straightforward, knowledgeable, and kept everything clear and honest throughout the process. Sal, the technician who worked on my truck, is clearly top-tier, meticulous, detail-oriented, and someone who takes real pride in his work. They did exactly what they said they would do, no shortcuts, no surprises. On top of that, they went the extra mile to check other components and made sure everything was working properly. Moe and company are hands down some of the best mechanics in all of Santa Clarita. Knowledgeable, affordable, courteous, and a completely legitimate service. And this place is just what a mechanic's joint should look like: with cars piled up in the lot, almost on top of each other.you still get the the best coustomer service . I was first introduced to this place by my friends 3 years ago, and now Moe treats me like a good friend of his own. Occasionally, I find myself at another shop due to break downs and emergency, and have learned that a good mechanic is like a family doctor... sure you can go to someone else in a pinch, but its always best to stick with someone you know and trust! CONTINUED AND FINAL ONE: Moe still argued with me telling me "he gave me his truck" (which was a ridiculous "rental car" if I do say so myself), which I told him was only offered after the POS Mercury which he then tried telling me he didn't know about after I told him it was ridiculous that he would feel comfortable giving it to a customer. By the end of it he told me he had to drive to Fillmore himself to pick up what ended up being the wrong piece for the rear differential (even though Gio had told me he had to drive to Fillmore to get himself) and then still had to order it. Then Moe had the audacity to tell me he drove it to Castaic and back! Sorry to tell you, but that's WAY more than a road test! The fact that he tried to convince me that what his mechanic did was right was completely ridiculous and I will NEVER be going back! Great service and very nice people to work with. My 2016 Ford F150 start to run rough while driving my kids to have fun day at Magic mountain today, felt were going to broken down far from home, drove to nearby Ford dealership in Valencia to find out we have to leave our truck at dealership until Monday and we have to get rental. I have search round the area to find closer shop to inspect my truck and luckily I was nearby Magic auto, I called the shop to make sure they able to ck my truck today and sure they are open, the gentlemen was very helpful on the phone and when we get there the technician plugged his scanner and found out it was little vacuum hose is leaking causing the engine to run rough and with little time they replaced my part and send us back to our fun day,kids were very happy didn't miss out and I very grateful not end up paying out for something I didn't need. I generally do as much work on my vehicles as I can when time permits, and recently, I simply didn't have time. My 300C had started a grinding noise I couldn't quite identify, which made it VERY difficult to identify what needed repair. Art is very skilled, and has an ear for mechanics. Moe, Art and the crew were able to identify the issue, as well as a few others I couldn't resolve!! I trust they are looking over the whole vehicle. I've lived in the area for over 15 years, and I have developed history with Moe and his crew for many of those years. So when I had no time, and issues finding the problem, my first, and last place I thought of was Magic Auto. I have three very different cars, and Moe's business comes highly recommended. I am new to the area and was looking for a good reliable mechanic and was having a hard time until a friend referred me to magic auto center. I had an amazing experience, i was greeted as soon as i walked through the door and they were very helpful. I don't know much about cars but they took the time to explain to me what i need and the status of my car. I had a few questions and they were very patient with me and made sure to answer each question. They also did a great job on my car and they were very clean, no shoe marks or grease smears. I took my jeep to Magic auto center after my jeep broke down on a trip to magic mountain, they got me in and back on the road in no time flat, even though they had a shop and parking lot packed full of cars, and got me a great deal on the parts and having them installed. Greg the older guy behind the desk was very friendly and knowledgeable about the repair and the issues my car was having. After Greg reassured me of the issues I was having he went and got the mechanic that was working on my car, and after talking with Greg and the mechanic I knew they were not messing around and got straight to the point. The mechanic was incredibly helpful and friendly. I am from the Glendale area and will be bringing my jeep back for any other work that it may need, these guys rock! read more

I can't say enough about Magic Auto Center. My friend had told me to go here...I had no 'go to' mechanic who I could trust. In October I had planned a trip and the day before, my car started making noises. He didn't know me...but when I called and told him what was going on (in the afternoon, no less), he told me to bring it over and he would do his best. I picked it up the next morning...he had fixed it and made sure everything else was looking good so I would have a safe trip. From then on, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I just took it in because my car was making another noise. Low on fluids. That was it. Honest, friendly and guys who really care about your care and you. They are good!! Need a mechanic?
