Amazing experience! The staff was so kind and helpful from the moment I came in. They were honest about what my car needed, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and made the whole experience stress-free. Service was fast, communication was great, and I felt like my car was in good hands. I really appreciate finding an auto shop that is trustworthy and actually cares about their customers. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending them to friends and family! read more

I initially went to Trident Auto Performance and Smog for a smog check after they were recommended by AAA. They were fast, courteous, and professional, so I decided to return with my Jeep for an oil change. They conducted a thorough inspection and provided a detailed report with photos, which I really appreciated. It's clear that they care not only about keeping your vehicle running well, but also about their customers' safety. The entire team is impressive, and the quality of their service reflects the owner's pride in his business. I highly recommend them. read more

I always come here whenever I'm having any issues with my car. Joey always gives me the proper help and explanation. Highly recommend coming here! read more

I am reposting this since it was taken down. This is my direct experience with the owner Joey when I called to discuss exorbitant charges and discuss what occured with a vehicle. I had him on speaker and had a co worker with me so she could hear the conversation. I asked him to explain what occurrd and wanted to see if he was willing to negotiate a fair price based on what happened with the vehicle. He proceeded to tell me NO and told me not to call anymore even though it was our 1st conversation then he hung up on me. Very rude. Ask questions and know your options. It is easy to spend a lot of unnecessary money especially if you don't have all the information. read more

I couldn't be happier with my experience here! The staff was so kind, helpful, and professional from start to finish. The best auto shop in Santa Clarita. Trustworthy, reliable, friendly, honest. I take both our family cars here knowing that we will be taken care of and treated with transparency and respect. Communication is great. They keep you informed every step of the way. If you call for an update on your repair, they know exactly who you are and why you are calling. Recently, our minivan had trouble, which was covered by the warranty. Trident brought our van over to the dealership and took care of everything for us. Another time, the work was going to take several days so Trident lent me a car. I couldn't ask for more from these guys. read more

Would recommend Trident for your automotive needs, Professional, courteous and best pricing I have found. Needed brake fluid flush and hybrid battery cleaning and they did it all for a fair price. Quick turnaround on a smog check today. This place always accommodates. Give them your business.

I found that the staff was Curtis and helpful, but there pricing was a little extreme.

Always prompt, courteous service. Have been coming here for years for smog checks. Recommended!

This is probably the most genuine and honest business I've ever been to. Notice how I didn't say "car service shop". I'm saying of all the businesses in Santa Clarita. These guys are truly genuine and honest. Anything that has to do with our family's cars, I bring it to Trident. The prices are fair and the work that they do is at the highest quality. Customer service is a forefront of this business and you don't see that very often anymore. I highly recommend this place for everyone to bring their cars for service. read more

Solid spot. Was recommended this shop by a good friend. I needed my truck repaired and they did a great job. After that I kept coming back making this shop my go to spot. Great shop, super duper honest and realistic with the customer. They also frequently update you on how your job is doing. Joey in particular was great with amazing customer service and keeping me updated. They helped with my final road worthy tune-ups and even a major timing job and smogging for my 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT. They don't shy away from interesting/unique cars. They also are AAA affiliated so you know they're trusted. As for any car repair, it can sometimes get expensive but they'll always ask for your own permission before moving forward with ANYTHING. read more

Trident Auto Performance & Smog - 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT that the shop helped tune up - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Valencia, California

Very good. They were friendly and my appointment was right on time What they promised I received.

I was referred by the BMW dealer to bring my 328i to Trident for a drive cycle service to reset the computer system for a failed Smog test after replacing the valve engine cover at a local mechanic shop. Joe, the owner of Trident, was so helpful and kind to me. He printed off the detailed steps how I could followed these steps to drive in order to reset the computer. After some thoughts, I decided to use their service to resolve this issue. Joe was able to reset the system. He even completed my failed Smog test at no charge. I really appreciate Joe and his crew (Joey and John) professionalism. read more

I took my 2020 Jaguar FPace here to get an oil change. The entire process was seamless from beginning to end. Dropped my car off around 8:00AM and was done before 9:30AM. Here we sit inside Jiffy Lube! Our first day of vacation is today so last week we made an appointment to have our oil changed. Showed up on time and was told it would take an hour and 15 mins to get done. I made an appointment so I would not have to wait this long. If you been here there is only two folding chairs to sit outside in 90 plus degree weather, or a old couch filled with paperwork in the small office. We left. What's the purpose of making an appointment days in advance just to have to wait so long. Jiffy lube ended up being cheaper and only 20 mins to wait read more

We broke down 200 miles from home with no idea who we could trust. We tried Pep Boys because they were open & we have used them at home. They never even got around to looking at it. With our hotel check-out looming, we were referred to Joe at 1500 on a Friday. I described the issue, which I was pretty sure it was the fuel pump. He said he could get it done the next day...when they weren't even open. We drove over to Trident, he GAVE US THE KEYS TO HIS LOANER, & we drove over to Pep Boy's to get the car. On Saturday, Trident got the car back on the road before noon (check-out time). We were home 3 hours later & the car performed perfectly. We can thank Joe & his crew enough! PS - He also didn't take advantage of our situation by gouging us either. read more

Okay second part to this poor repair shop. If you've seen my first review how the truth be told and see how the owner pretends he was not part of the conversation and then says sorry you had a bad experience and to call him to discuss just speaks volumes to his character. Now as I mentioned, I turned the car over to the bank as the cost to fix due to their negligence just to pick up and now I receive a letter in the mail stating that the charges for never fixing the engine, braking my axle when test driving while seizing my transmission up is $10,030 when the original stated estimate for the engine was only under $5,000. Stay away from this shop!!! They pretend to be honest but as you can see, they are not. read more

a minute ago New My daughter brought in her 2013 Chevrolet Volt today and was charged $81.75 plus $8.25 for a smog check and certificate. I understand the smog certificate cost but $81.75 is a little excessive. Upon doing my research, $81.75 is usually the cost for pre 2000 vehicles or motorhomes. There was no work done to the car while there. I'm sure there was no mistake and they know exactly what they are doing which is why I'm going straight to the review. That car has a generator to charge the battery for the electric motor, the emissions are basically nil. Thank you Trident staff.... read more

Brought my 2012 Prius to Trident Auto Performance & Smog for a diagnostic on an 420 engine code related to the catalyst system. Turns out, the catalytic converter was failing and needed replacing :( The mechanics installed a new one and the engine 420 code was gone, car was ready. Then more bad luck. Later that evening, the engine overheated on the freeway and had to be towed back to Trident. Next day, Joey, the manager at Trident Auto, had the car checked out again, making sure it wasn't exhaust system related. All good except for air in the coolant system, taken care of at no charge. After picking up the car, the next day, the engine overheated again!! The car had to be towed again back to Trident Auto. So now I'm out $120 in tow charges and very frustrated as hell. Joey, the manager, wanted the car to receive a very thorough diagnostic to find out what is causing the engine to overheat. Turns out, the water pump was failing and needed replacing. Joey and his mechanics stepped up big time and took care of the problem, with a commitment to make sure my Prius was NOT going to overheat again. After the repair was completed, my Prius was road tested alot to confirm the overheat issue was fixed. The Prius was good to go!! Joey at Trident Auto took exceptional care of us and only charged us for the new water pump and gave us a big break on the labor. Plus, they smog tested my Prius, at no charge. Who does this anymore? Trident Auto Performance & Smog, that's who. Now, this is what I call a sincere commitment to customer satisfaction and happiness! I am deeply grateful for all of your help! Thank you very much, Joey, the Prius is running great! You can count on the team at Trident Auto Performance & Smog to take care of you and your car! read more

Great experience every time. I have a Honda Fit and a Mercedes SLK 350, and they've worked on both of them. Absolute top notch customer care and prices that are always reasonable. Don't bother. We appreciate and are very supportive of a small business but some employees have not been trained appropriately. Our wire for the computer connection was held up with one zip tie, and they refused to help us cut the zip tie and asked us to leave and get something to cut it with and come back and wait in line again . That's ridiculous. FYI- the owner was not there, and we have been very loyal to him, but this was communicated back to us from the owners son. We will take our business elsewhere. read more

DO YOUR RESEARCH, there are other, cheaper, smog test only options close to this business. I do not recommend this business for your smog check needs. Wayyyyyyy over priced and took longer than they needed, they quoted me $90 for a smog test+certificate and electronic transfer (THIS COST DOES NOT INCLUDE RETEST IF YOU FAIL). I got it down to $70 with AAA discount. Took almost an hour to do the smog check. Ended up failing the check due to a ripped hose. Was verbally quoted $100+ to repair it+redo the test or buy the part myself and they would install it for $45. Ended up buying the part online and having another mechanic install it for me. When I was ready to redo my smog check, I called this location to ask about getting a discount on the smog check retest since I already paid so much for the first test. I was waiting almost 10 minutes for an answer over the phone. Ended up doing my smog check at another business that was 5 minutes away, which ended up being a much faster and reasonably priced experience! read more

I recently bought a 23 year old car, and Trident was recommended to me by the previous owner. Joe and crew were amazing!!! With a 23 year old car comes the expectation that you'll have issues, and since it hasn't been run in a few years I was worried there would be a lot to repair. The Trident team inspected the car, and gave me an honest assessment of what needed to be repaired. Honest and trustworthy mechanics are a precious commodity, and I'm fortune to have found that winning combination at Trident. I highly recommend bringing your car there for service. Bonus that they work with affirm so you can make payments with zero percent interest over 6 months. read more

California states that a car with a check engine light on will not pass a smog check. And then California law states that the shop does not have to notify the customer that the smog check will fail. What the heck ?!? What kind of law is this. My wife brings in her car for the smog check and the check engine light is on. An ethical operation would had told my wife that it will not pass. But no, Trident, knowing very well that it will fail, goes through the procedure just to collect $70 (what! shouldn't be over $50). When they tell my wife just that, she demands her money back only to be told that she is ignorant and uneducated. My mechanic knows the owner and informed me that he is not a good man and lacks integrity. Beware. read more

My car has spent three years with its engine light either on, or temporarily off after a repair, while the car computer took a bizarrely long time (1000+ miles on multiple occasions) to decide that the drive cycle had been completed, where it would immediately switch the engine light back on. Over those three years, I've been to various mechanics that have diagnosed and replaced a variety of things, attempting to figure out what exactly was wrong. And while they may have been necessary steps on the way to my car's final recovery, none of those steps managed to persuade the engine light to stay off. In the last few days, as of writing this, the guys at Trident managed to finally get the last issues sorted out, smogged the car, and it passed, ending a three year long problem that has eaten plenty of time and sanity. My thanks to the Trident crew, for finally sealing away the ancient evil that dwells within my 2007 Pontiac Montana. read more
