I used to order from here regularly. One day I observed the food handler texting on his phone and preparing food with the same gloves on. I thought about how much bacteria are on cell phones, up to 25,127 per square inch. They are 10 times as dirty as a toilet seat. The fact that cell phones serve as bathroom entertainment is gross. I asked the manager can the food preparer change his glove and he got belligerent refunded my money and asked me not to return. I said you don't have to worry about that. Had a bad experience with delivery yesterday. My pizza was delivered to the wrong house! Once we got to the bottom of the issue, the restaurant called me to apologize, refunded my order, and credited me for the next visit. Since I had been waiting so long, I ordered food from somewhere else. My Maggio's pizza ended up being better than the other food. I was happy with how they handled the situation. I used to enjoy ordering from here 10 mins from my house we started eating healthy so we stoped ordering for a while a few months later i call in to order and i'm told the driver doesn't like driving that way any more its too far and takes time from other deliveries and people down that way don't tip? mind u i haven't ordered here in a few months and i ALWAYS tio the driver! then they delivered a large pizza in a medium box all messy and bunched up and told me they ran out of boxes but we can still eat the pizza. Delicious sandwiches and pasta dinners. I'm a vegetarian so I'm partial to the hot vegetable wrap - it's tasty, packed with vegetables, and so good. My son loves the prosciutto and mozzarella panini - it's a huge sandwich packed with meat and cheese and served with fries for $8.99. My parents who are from South Philly love the ravioli and traditional pasta dishes while my husband is a fan of the blush sauce -- all three individuals are very picky about their pasta. Saw a coupon for here in a recent mailer, and had heard about this place from people that work in the same plaza. Figured we'd give it a try. Called on a friday night coming home from work and ordered a large pizza (for 7.99 with coupon) and a couple appetizers, zucchini sticks, jalapeno poppers, and cheese fries, all for pick up. Parking wasn't bad in the lot in front that they share with other stores. For 6 pm on a friday night there was a nice crowd. Almost all of the tables in the dining room were full, and there were 2 people ahead of me there for pickup. I waited about 5 minutes after arrival for my food to be ready. First off, the place is clean. It looks like an old time pizza shop with table cloths on the tables. Everyone here was really nice. From the person that took my order on the phone to the guy making the pizza. They all treated me like they knew me for years, even after I let them know I was a first time customer. They said they just started putting coupons in the mail to bring in new customers. They also told me they've been there for 12 years! I told them I would be back. Their pizza was just the way I like it. Thin crust Neopolitan style. Easy to fold slices. Never had zucchini sticks before but they were good. Poppers were as expected and we liked their crinkle cut fries. We ordered sandwiches for free delivery from there a few days later. A Sicilian style chicken sandwich with roasted peppers and mozzarella cheese and a garlic bread cheesesteak. Both were tasty and filling, and reasonably priced. Ordered take out- very nice over the phone! On a humbug I tried the lobster ravioli- it was delicious! We always get the chicken tortellini pizza and that's great too! Two trips for lunch. My preferred option is closed down so trying more options again. Food seems okay enough for the area. Weird vibe all around though. First day they were feeling grumpy over something maybe, they were definitely distracted and weren't paying enough attention..one guy says "I don't need that heated up, I'll just take it cold to go" and she immediately throws his slices in the oven. Then they apparently missed a pickup order that was never started with the customer there to pick-up. Kind of weird stare from one of the kitchen people who seemed almost interested in watching us eat. Second time (again after lunch hour, eat-in) - they weren't rude or anything just not really welcoming in any way. Couple bucks in the tip jar, no "thanks." Walking in or out of the place, no real acknowledgment. That's fine, don't necessarily need that, but harder to give better than an average rating. Maybe if the food was spectacular but that was just okay. This place came recommended from somebody and I wouldn't be put off from eating from them again necessarily. I have been eating at Maggio's since they opened more than 10 years ago. My kids love their pizza and I love their specialty sandwiches. You must try the chicken la rosa sandwich. I called in my order two minutes before 12 noon on a Sunday. They open at 12 noon. The very friendly woman took my order. I ordered cheddar fries with steak and gravy and an American hoagie with no lettuce and extra mayo. First off, there was hardly any brown gravy. There were so much cheddar cheese it was overwhelming. And there was some funky taste to the fries. Not all of them, some of them. And the overabundance use of cheese made everything salty. And they were barely warm. I noticed the hoagie was dripping liquid. The one side of the hoagie was completely soggy. Don't know why, I've never seen that before. And to top everything off, it took the driver an hour to get here. Mind you, I live right down the street. I'll never order again from here. Very disappointed. read more

I went to Maggios for the first time tonight with my friend oscar , he enjoys pizza a lot so we stopped in. There were 2 girls there, one with black hair and one with blond , I heard they laugh loudly and the blond girl say "I'm not taking them" and walked away cackling like a hyena.. I stated it was for here and we sat down, I heard them talking and cackling like hyenas about how the other girl didn't want to take us because she didn't want us to dine in but we still did. Talk about RUDE, If I could give them 0 stars I would because those ratchet girls attitudes were horrible . The pricing on the menu is not accurate, we were overcharged and didn't realize until we got home. The portions are extremely small for the price you pay. Came for a salad, left in tears. I never actually had an opportunity to eat the food because I was exposed to an inappropriate conversation by employees of the pizzeria who chose to KNOWINGLY use the N word in my presence. I came into the restuarant to order a salad, & as I sat waiting, the man making the food (who could clearly see me) & another man, engaged in political conversation (inappropriate in my opinion). I ignored it; however, when they began to aggressively express their opinions about NFL players kneeling, one of them said, " I bet if you called them N*ggers they'd get their a*sses on the field!" I was SO appalled & upset that I ran out of the store, leaving my money behind. So I immediately returned, VERY UPSET & offended, and I requested my money back & explained the reason why. The hostess was upset, but did not look surprised when I identified who said it. She then called the owner out. Both profusely apologized & offered the salad for free, but as an African American woman, I was so deeply offended that I could not hold back my tears. I took my money & left- never to return. I cannot think of a better place to go eat. All of the girls are friendly and helpful and the owner goes out of his way to make sure you are happy and satisfied. Our order can sometimes bc complicated with a house full of picky eaters and he will accommodate us to ensure we are getting what we want. We often get delivery and the drivers are always fast and so nice. We have almost tried the whole menu and have not been disappointed yet! From the dinners to pizza everything is excellent! DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. Ordered a pizza and they asked me for my credit card information numerous times because they were having issues. He even told me everything was fine and then called me back to ask for it again. They are generally a nice place so I don't suspect anything and still wouldn't suspect anything if this were a credit card I used regularly, but it's not. It sits in my car for emergencies, it maybe gets used once in a blue moon. So saturday night i forgot my wallet at home and ordered a pizza at a friends using my emergency card since I had nothing on me. 11 hours later the bank is ringing me off the hook for fraudulent charges made at mcdonald's, old navy, gas, and some retail store Bergen's?? Bank says the fraud occurred the very next morning and if they had to guess based off the fact that the card hadn't been used in some time prior, they jacked my card information.
