My wife and I had breakfast here after a long drive from out of town. We immediately got seated and handed a menu. A server came and asked us what drink we wanted , we said just water for now since we can't decide yet since my wife and i still very sleepy and tired and just want something to eat before going straight home. But this server kept suggesting getting something else to drink other than water and continued to offer my wife an alcoholic beverage and my wife said " NO " and that she doesn't drink any alcohol in the daytime and more at night time. But throughout we were seated there this Server kept coming back offering alcoholic beverages to my wife. My wife got so annoyed but luckily she was very tired at the time, so she didn't burst out at the annoying approach of this server and just ordered her cold Caramel drink, and finally this server left her alone in peace to eat her food. My wife had the Chile Relleno Omelette and I had the Meat Lover's Omelette, both came in big portions, but my Meat was way too salty, so I ended up not eating the meat part. We're gonna try this restaurant again but we are hoping not to encounter a pushy server and enjoy our meal in peace.

Chick Tortilla Soup served with avocado was impressive

We were immediately greeted walking in with a table for ten. We were accommodated quickly. Business pace was slow. About eight tables in the restaurant. Miguel approached taking drink orders. We ordered lemonades, passion fruit rita and iced coffees. The signature margarita was sweet with full body flavor. Served with a salt rim and fresh orange and lime garnish. Food: We ordered a wide variety of items from the menu. All food came out hot with nice presentation. We tried the signature stuffed French toast. We chose eggs and bacon accompaniments. We opted out of the normally served banana. Toasted to perfection and smothered with cream and fresh crisp slices of strawberry. We asked for honey and we did not use the house syrup. This meal was remarkable. We tried the California Omelette serviced with fresh avocado slices, fresh pico de gallo, crisply baked bacon and sour dough toast. Great job. Cajun Pasta is a favorite dish from our recommendation. Noted for consistency of flavor and portion size. We visited the restrooms. Both were clean with utilities stocked accordingly. The restaurant has projectors and multiple tvs featuring sporting events if you want to have updates. The ambiance is comfortable, not loud and well lit with daylight. Overall, food was of good quality, flavor, portion size and value. This exceeded our expectations. UPDATE: We are happy to inform you that we went back the next day with a party of seven. We were greeted and seated promptly after they turned two tables together. A two minute wait. The place was moderately busy. Wendy provided our table service. She was friendly quick and precise. Our bar drinks and reorders came out quickly. Consistency is present. We ventured into the menu further. Quality & food portions fresh and a great value.

Went here today 6/23/26 for a late breakfast, early lunch with my BFF! She got Machaca & Waffles! I had the chili rellano omelette and EVERYTHING was delicious ! The place was cute inside, very clean and inviting. Our service was excellent, our coffees came out first and then when our server brought us the meal we were in AWE! the portions were great (we both took home leftovers) the flavors of the chili rellano was perfect, the rice and beans were obviously homemade and very flavorful. Tortillas were soft and fresh. The waffle was huge and definitely homemade, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, I love that they serve it with real butter not margarine! Definitely will be back!

Wow, wow, wow!!! What a gem in plain sight! This place was on Yelp's top 10 places to eat breakfast and with good reason. From the steaming and frothy hot chocolate to the towering and mouth watering red chilaquiles this place has made my top 10 for breakfast. The food was seasoned well and came out piping hot, just how I like it. Whenever we are back in San Diego- we shall be back. Worth every penny and my favorite thing is the back of the house (chef) had his Spanish music playing and front of the house had country. Thank you for the great and kind service. The host was amicable and knowledgeable.

Located in a strip mall Is this decently sized cafe/bar. Definitely has more of a bar vibe with neon lights and 7+ TVs on. About 9 beers on tap and a small bar area that seats 9. Came here for breakfast as I typed in cafe on my yelp search and this spot does play loose with the term cafe. Still gave it a shot with a standard country fried steak and eggs, pretty solid here gravy was better than average. Service is really laidback vibe. Overall the food I had was good and would maybe give this place a shot at lunch, but not really a breakfast feel to this place.

Found Maggie's near our apartment while out doing errands and decided to give it a go for breakfast. It was delicious. We were planning to go elsewhere for breakfast but so glad that we ate here. I am a sucker for chilaquiles and mistakenly got beef the first time the kitchen quickly remade my order with chicken. They were so yummy and hit the spot so hard. Breakfast, well brunch, went just right with the margarita I ordered, too. I knew there was tequila in that drink. Can't knock a good pour! The service is always great. Staff are friendly and attentive and make you feel at home.

Maggie's is a good little breakfast spot that delivers quality every time. We've gone twice on Sundays and it hits the spot! The stuffed French toast is fantastic! Not too sweet but super fluffy! The food is very good you can't go wrong no matter what you order, service is great and there's space to sit. You can sit in the main room, side area where we sat the first time we came here or even at the bar - which was calm for us when we went last time. Bring a light sweater though if you get cold, the fans work and they run haha.

Brunch in San Diego, California... My cousins were hungry, so I searched my Yelp app for a restaurant and found Maggie's Cafe. We liked it because of the free parking, convenient restroom, and pleasant ambiance. I liked the music a lot... the songs were familiar pop rock style. Rafael was an excellent server...efficient and friendly. He was very helpful and fun! I ordered the French Toast - it was delicious with brioche bread. It came with two eggs and bacon (or sausage). I devoured it! This was a great find!

Amazing food and service! Called a bit ahead and got a table right away! Definitely coming back when we are in town! It was perfect for kids and very family friendly! If you are looking for a white dinner, this isn't the place! Definitely a great time here!

Stopped here for breakfast last week and really enjoyed the visit. This café has 2 locations: Serra Mesa and Barrio Logan. This Serra Mesa location is in a strip mall and there is ample parking in the private lot. We ordered: Carnitas Breakfast Skillet (carne asada, potatoes, eggs, salsa, freshly sliced avocado), and Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. For dessert we shared the Churro Waffle which comes with a scoop of ice cream. We also had hot black tea with honey and chamomile hot tea. EVERYTHING WAS TASTY. The dessert waffle was freshly made and it was the star of the show. We have excellent customer service from our server. The place was decorated well with Halloween fun stuff. I also appreciated that the server answered any questions that I had about the menu, brunch, happy hour, and dinner specials. This was great. I would also like to try the Barrio Logan loca

Ever since we found Maggie's when we would vacation in San Diego we have never been the same. This has been and will continue to be our all time favorite breakfast spot. This is what we look forward to more when we come out to San Diego. The environment is always so nice and clean. The staff is always spot on, so very friendly and extremely patient and helpful. Maggie's chilaquiles is always my go to with half red and half green sauce. They are made to perfection. I love that they still have a little crunch to them and don't taste watery. I'm not a bean person but the beans from there I love and enjoy how tasty they are. This is our second day back to back coming here since our vacation this week, that's how much we love Maggie's. Looking forward to more delicious breakfast trips here.

Wonderful breakfast spot. I grab the chile verde omelet with egg whites and it was stuffed with carne asada. The chile verde sauce has a kick and the carne asada has good flavoring. Rice and beans on the side were also very tasty. Good service. Easy parking. Indoor and limited outdoor seating. Please come and create your own adventure.

Great and friendly server. Food was good. Stuffed French toast was delicious. Chocolate milkshake was so good, not too sweet and really chocolatey. We'll be back to try other things. Breakfast for dinner, gotta love it. We'll be back to try the chilaquiles.

I appreciated the live music, though it did make conversation a bit difficult to hear. The drinks were sweet and strong! I recommend the Tangled Up in Blue The macaroni and cheese was the best appetizer. The wagyu tartare is actually quite spicy, and although tasty, we could not finish it because of the burn. The entrees were hot and cooked exactly as asked. You seriously get a bang for your buck with the portion size of the chicken parm! I also got some random corn surprises in my dish - I don't mind, but just something to be aware of in case you are allergic. I'm definitely coming back.

We did have a fairly large group so we occupied the entire back wall corner. It was a bit snug in terms of table space and leg space, but we made it work. The staff were doing their best to keep track of everyone's orders, but there were a few mix-ups in the end. Food came out in waves and had a good cadence to the meal. - FOOD - We had a lot to share amongst our group! Wagyu Tartare ($14.00): Really flavorful tartare! Had a nice tartness to it due to the Black Vinegar. Pork Belly Baos ($12.00 - 2pc): Honestly this was just OK to me. Ahi Tuna Crudo ($18.00): Very bright and refreshing. Chicken Satay ($12.00): A little dry on some chicken pieces. Crispy Brussels ($10.00): Not as crispy as I'd hoped but still good. B&R Mac & Cheese ($8.00): Very creamy, very cheesy. The pasta was a bit soft though. Flat Iron Steak & Fries ($25.00): Decent piece of steak, cooked medium well. I honestly enjoyed the fries a lot! However, there must have been something expired, cooked wrong, or just not up to quality as many of us got stomach issues that night and the next day. We were all spread out so not sure what it could have been given we ate a few different items. - OVERALL - It was a cool vibe and they have some good tasting items, but considering a few of us got sick, I'm a bit wary to come back.

All 6 of us had our own dishes, but I would highly highly recommend ordering a couple dishes and sharing it family style if you're dining with a group. One note I did have about Hash House is how overstimulating the menu is lol. The menu had a lot of clashing fonts, colors, and clip art images, it made it hard to digest the menu. I didn't even notice some menu offerings because of how busy the menu was. Also, our waitress did initially charge us for 6 coffees, even though we only had 3. It was a good thing we caught that error on the receipt before paying. Overall, the food at Hash House is definitely worth coming back for.
