We ordered delivery through Vroom and ended up with a cupcake for dessert when we ordered the Tiramisu. I've been craving Tiramisu for a while and was a bit upset that they had messed up this portion of the order. Everything else was correct! I called to tell them about the issue and was briefly placed on hold, I assume for a manager to get on the phone. He was very polite and said he would contact Vroom to refund the amount to which I simply asked if there was anyway I could get the Tiramisu as I had really been looking forward to it. He asked my address and phone number and sent someone out with it. They sent two good size pieces instead of the one to my surprise and I just want to say this location is the best! Took a client here at his request for lunch. We were seated near the back in a booth and opted for a couple of the lunch specials. I had the blackened chicken sandwich and Caesar salad. The salad was your standard fare, romaine, packaged croutons and dressing with some pre-shredded cheese. The sandwich was decent, it had a good amount of chicken which had a nice flavor although there was a bit too much mayo for my tastes. I should have specified on the side. My main issue was there were numerous flies buzzing us during almost our entire meal which were only driven off when the nearby wood oven started belching black smoke into the area. Not exactly the best ambiance in my opinion. Prices were reasonable and service was fair. read more

Yum! I haven't been to Maggie McFly's in many years, but came here for a birthday dinner with some friends. I got the steak and it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! The server was very nice and attentive. I was impressed with the beer selection and was able to try a new craft beer I've never had. The tiramisu was light and delicious without being too sweet. I was very disappointed with my lunch today!... no tartar sauce with my fish and chips?.... that's a sin to a good restaurant. The coleslaw was packed with the hot fish and ff it melted the mayo and make the cabbage saggy and warm with no crunchiness touch. Maggie McFly's is one of our favorite restaurants. Wide menu, consistently good food, food allergy friendly (gluten allergy). We're never disappointed with our actual meals, but the delivery and pick up services are atrocious. Any time we order takeout, it's never ready on time. Tonight's order said it would be ready for pickup in 25-30 minutes. This was at 7:42pm. It took over an hour for TWO SALADS to be ready. At the end of a long work day, when we're just trying to grab a easy meal for dinner, it's extremely frustrating to have to sit at a restaurant for an extra 40 minutes for salads. If you are that busy, please have your delivery and pickup times reflect that. read more

So my boyfriend and I went for a late dinner. The place was not very busy and at least to me did not look understaffed!? I do not remember ever eating out at Maggie McFlys before so we thought it would be a nice change. It was exceptionally cold where we were seated but did not ask for a change. The drinks were specialty cocktails and they were okay but not the best. The onion rings were the highlight of the night and we wished there were more! The entrees came to the table and did not seem to be same amounts for a dinner meal. That aside the food was not very hot and my chicken parm was over cooked. I ended up cutting a very burned piece off and politely taking the rest home. Horrible experience and we will not be back- I ordered 3 sandwiches and 2 side salads tonight $72 for take out - when I got to the car 2 of the 3 meals were I the bag so I had to go back in so that error could be fixed and waited another 15 minutes so the 3rd meal could be made. When I got home the 2 meals that were waiting in the bag that should have been Nashville Hot chicken sandwiches were some version of Chicken cordon bleu- every single order was wrong- how us that even possible? read more

I've been here a few times before and have always thought that this is a great restaurant with a lot of options, but the last time there was a huge decline in quality. Before now I probably would have given a 4. I've always really liked the burgers here, and had the wagyu burger last time. It was a little soft (probably because of the wagyu meat) but had a good flavor. The one major issue was the fries, which I luckily didn't really feel like I needed anyway, because otherwise they would have needed to get sent back. They were so limp, soggy, and cardboard tasting. I truly have never had worse fries. But that was the only problem, and out of many experiences it might have just been a blip. I didn't finish my drink, but they let me take it home which was appreciated. The staff was in a bit of a rush and we had to flag down the waitress to order, but she was nice enough. My friend got Thai lettuce wraps and enjoyed it. It was also a huge portion, so it's possibly shareable. I'm not in a rush to go back here, but I hope it hasn't lost its quality permanently. read more

Great extensive extensive menu. Lots of TVs and good ice cream for dessert. The food is very tasty and good portions match their reasonable prices. How about that they use a lot of local suppliers for real fresh food, including great bread from Rockland Bakery! Smoked BBQ is local too and that's really good. I was on business and came to this place 3 out of 4 nights. So it's months later and I needed to return to the area for business. I came here three times this week but once I couldn't stay to wait. It was packed. But I'm here tonight and had a great dinner- 3 street tacos - 3 completely different tastes- great great and great. Side of yellow rice and another side I can't remember the name- also real good. I'm taking a dessert to go, but I have to say, this place doesn't disappoint. I really really like coming here. On my way back to NH, I stopped for a dinner break at Maggie McFly's in Middlebury, just off I-84 Exit 17. The parking lot looked full, but once inside it seemed fairly quiet here. I was seated immediately in the upstairs dining area which surrounds and overlooks the bar area below in the center of the restaurant. I literally had to climb into my wooden booth seat. The decor here is pretty interesting including a big model plane hanging from the ceiling. I was able to catch part of the game on the big screen TVs over the bar area, just no sound The menu here is very extensive and reads like a storybook with plenty of choices to satisfy any taste including sandwiches, burgers, pasta dishes, chicken, seafood, steaks, ribs, pizzas, giant salads, soups, appetizers, and plenty of desserts. Lunch specials are served until 5PM. They also offer a natural and organic menu too! The prices here are moderate, most entrees priced in the $10.99-$18.99 range. The portions here are good sized. There's also a full drink/cocktail menu at each table and free wi-fi is offered. For dinner, I ordered the Baked Chicken Parmigiano ($14.99), which was a generous portion of al dente linguine, and very large parmesan cheese breaded chicken breast pounded thin, topped with a chunky tomato sauce & melted mozzarella cheese and served with dry soft ciabatta bread. This was a good dish with the pasta cooked the way I liked it and the chicken breast was tender and the breading crispy outside. I did request a to-go box for the leftovers. I passed on the dessert. Also, I ordered a Decaf Coffee ($2.75), which had lots of coffee grounds at the bottom of the glass mug. Overall, I had a good meal slightly on the pricier side, but the service was on the slower side and the upper dining area did not seem busy. However, I was in no hurry as I was trying to relax after a hectic drive out of NYC. After being seated. it took almost 10 minutes for a waitress to stop by to take my drink order, a Diet Coke ($2.75) and another 5 minutes to receive my drink, when I placed my dinner order. The food arrived to my table in 25 minutes after ordering. I was offered a complementary refill on the Diet Coke before my food arrived. I would stop here again for lunch or dinner, but only if I was in no rush. read more

Not bad, but not great. Menu is HUGE and eclectic. It is virtually sensory overload. Instead of having a wide variety of pretty good food, would rather cut back on the size of the menu and do a few things really, really well. If you are looking for a cheap quick bite, this is not the place. It was fairly busy when we went in, but even so the kitchen was very slow. Service was acceptable. Seems like everything on the menu is $14-$16 which is kind of weird. I would go back again, but wouldn't seek it out. read more

This restaurant has a very ornate and interesting exterior, and inside is no different. They certainly put a lot of thought and work into the design and decoration of the pub/restaurant. It certainly is visually impressive. Unfortunately the food and service didn't get near as much attention as the decor. I visited on a Sunday, so of course they were super packed with the brunch crowd. No matter, we got some bar seating which has the full menu too. Unfortunately, finding a server to help you is a very difficult task. We weren't even given any menus so I had to go dig them out of the counter that the then absent greeter usually uses. They were good about customizing food on the menu, but I couldn't finish my meal, it was too gross. I had a turkey burger that looked and what I can assume tasted like that nutraloaf meal they give felons when they've misbehaved in prison. I've never seen a meal so visually unappealing. I ate two bites of whatever the patty was reconstituted from (me thinks road kill was possibly involved) ,on a bed of yellowed soggy bean sprouts, and a couple of measly pieces of avocado that was so brown and mushy that I at first could not identify it. Of course they brought the food out with no silverware, so once again there I set out to hunt some down.. not like you can get much attention from anyone though. No one ever came to check on us or our food or asked if we wanted more drinks. It felt (and was!) very crowded and claustrophobic with everyone basically in each others laps. I have been to this restaurant before and always good. that was not the case today. fish and chips ordered and they were not crisp but kind of soggy, but that wasn't the worst, there was a large hair coming out of the fish. I didnot notice this until halfway through! the manager never came over, no one apologized but it really sickened me. They did not charge for it but that was not enough for me. I would not recommend this place again and I would beware if eating here! read more

I really like this place...its a little bit of something for everybody! Good place with lots of food options. The menu is huge (think Cheesecake Factory). But even with a huge menu, this place makes everything they serve decent, which is impressive! I love the turkey burgers and spinach/chicken tortellini soup. And the desserts are always good! Lots of seating (and its get packed), nice happy hour specials, DJ and live music on certain nights, etc. Service is great! You have to check out this place at least once! read more

A decent place with an extensive menu. I've been to three of their four locations several times, but perhaps Middlebury the most. What I like about the Middlebury location is the outdoor seating that I didn't see in Brookfield or Southbury. As for the menu, it's pages and pages long, so there's just about something for everyone in there. They also clearly label what's gluten free and seem to have plenty of options in that category. One suggestion I have is to label what's vegan or can be made vegan (dairy and egg free) for those like myself that have allergies. I usually order the vegetarian pasta with no cheese. It's quite good because of the mixture of fresh vegetables and seasonings. However, I recently ordered this at Middlebury and the pasta was different. I'm fairly certain that the pasta had egg in it. It had a yellow tint and was shaped differently than what I've received before. I've inquired about it prior to this visit and was told the pasta is not made with egg, but either this varies depending on location, or they recently changed their pasta source. Overall, I wish the menu had more vegan options. Maybe it's a lot to ask, but I'd be much more likely to come here if they made that change. Considering how large the menu is, there are surprisingly very few options for those like me. I do like the chips with guacamole as an appetizer, but to my knowledge, the only vegan entree is the vegetarian pasta, IF you specify no cheese. Even that is questionable now after my eggy experience. Prices are moderate and from my own experience and those who I've dined with, the food is usually good, but the service is mixed. Sometimes I've had a great server who was very attentive and friendly, while other times service has been slow to almost non-existent. The atmosphere is also variable. There's a cool ambiance with the wooden theme and decorations, but far too many times I've come here and there have been noisy kids getting out of hand. Maybe this is par for the course at most restaurants, but at least seat a couple far away from any groups like that. One time I came here with a group of friends for a post-wedding celebration and we wanted to order a bottle of champagne. They didn't have the one that we wanted, but after some negotiating, they eventually offered us a slight discount for a much more expensive bottle. All in all, I don't mind coming here, but the food, service and atmosphere can be a bit inconsistent. Please consider making your menu more vegan friendly! read more

I haven't been to Maggie McFly's in a few years mostly because it hadn't impressed me and I like to go to those places that do when visiting home. However, my step-daughter suggested it and I love my step daughter. So, on Presidents' Day we were in a very crowded Maggie McFly's for lunch. First off the menu. It's overwhelming, like having War and Peace thrown at you and told you'll be quizzed in a few. You know your not going to be able to get through the menu before the waiter/waitress returns. I got as far as I could before our waitress did arrive. They try to source from locals as much as possible. Thus my choice of a BLT because the "B" came from Nodine's Smokehouse. A favorite of mine well know in Connecticut. So I caved and got something I would not normally get in a restaurant. The bacon was crisp and not all dried out. Bib lettuce and fresh tomato. Plus an awesome mayonnaise. I also got clam chowder ... New England ... is there any other kind? It was full of clams and chunky potatoes. Stepdaughter got a salad that was very fresh and full of apples, cheese, walnuts which she did enjoy. Her one complaint was that she wished it was not served a plate that was so small. The salad just spilled onto table when you go to eat. The waitress never checked to see if we needed refills etc., Overall, a good experience. read more

I went to dinner there with 2 friends. The restaurant must have been super-short staffed because the manager waited on us when we first sat down. The menu selection is huge, I ordered the "garbage burger" which has everything on it. My friends mentioned that the fries used to be better/different kind. The keg in the bar was messed up so my friend couldn't get the beer he wanted. Also, no one in the wait-staff had claimed us as their responsibility so we had to flag down people whenever we wanted something. What I liked best was that we could sit outside and drink/have dinner. I don't think the food is anything special. I've heard a lot of bad things from friends who have eaten (ie getting sick each time they order salad) but I didn't think it was too bad. Would go again if the situation called for it. read more

Most restaurants with massive menu ate mediocre. Not here. Everything is made here... soups, deserts, etc... and is great. It's casual food with a casual atmosphere. Some of my favorite dishes are the Street Tacos (Ahi Tuna Is great), California Burger (turkey), Calamari (with peppers), and prime rib (usually request Pittsburgh style or crusted). Staff are pleasant. Never have to wait for table (because of the size). The one time we've had to talk to a manager, the experience was positive. UPDATE: Just tried the Fish & Chips. Didn't like it. Breading was soft and crumbly. Not at all right for the dish. read more

You are on the East Coast, so have the clam chowder. Maggies chowder is just loaded with clams. It is just wonderful, great consistency and flavor. Friendly customer service from everyone from the bartender to the hostess. The bartenders are especially good here, they remember my name and say hi when I come in. The menu is large and has free range chicken, grass fed beef, and wild caught salmon at reasonable prices. In Miami I would be paying double these prices for a grass fed burger or wild caught salmon! This is a review of their late night happy hour offered in the bar area. I was searching for a nice setting for some martinis and food late Saturday night where my husband & I could hang out and not have to scream at each other. Our regular for that is Vasi's (which I love), but when we pulled up they had a DJ blasting so we quickly went to plan B, and I am so glad. I have been here various times over the years to eat and it has never let me down. The bar area is spacious enough but still intimate, and they had alt. music playing. I like the atmosphere and decor. We sat at one of the high top tables around the bar, and when I took a look at the menu I couldn't believe my luck that there was a happy hour going on daily after 10PM which included great specials, such as discounts on all martinis and wine and a long list of bar bites for only $4 each. This is also one of the only places in the area with my favorite vodka, Purity. Also, a very nice martini list. We had a [something] garden martini, Jack & coke, wings, and mini cheeseburgers. All were satisfactory, and the drinks were strong. I can't wait to go back and try more. Of course, there is also a regular daytime happy hour too. The bartender with the beard was nice and very accommodating. The only "con" is that at the high top tables there are hand written signs saying you have to go up to the bar for "self service". I just didn't find this to be of the highest professionalism for a place in general. However.. the bar is 2 feet away and for such good deals and drinks, I'm fine with relieving the bartenders. Our bartender did bring our food to the table from the kitchen. It's really hard to find a nice little place around here with great martinis that actually stays open late and still serves food (a must for my husband). Not the best service. The menu is too big as it takes forever to flip through. The food is very over priced. I would say just to go for the drinks, but the last time I went the bar was dirty. I have to say, I am not one to typically write reviews, but this place made an amazing impression on me. After a tough night at work, my fiancé and I decided to try Maggie McFly's. We were WOWED by the menu. It felt like there was no shortage of options, especially for a person like me with multiple dietary restrictions. We ended up ordering the panko breaded avocado and let me tell you, after these, you will never go back to fries! YUM! I had the red sangria which was deliciously sweet and had the flavor of a black cherry, as well as the chicken romano (which was BETTER than the Cheesecake factory- which is pretty tough). My fiance had the smoked whiskey and the sausage cavatelli. I am not a whiskey person but the flavor was so cool, it tasted as if it came straight off a campfire! I cannot wait to go back! We had such a lovely time. The staff was so attentive, our drinks were never empty. Would highly recommend!!! Update! After writing the review I HAD to order some food from there off doordash! I go to Maggie's once a week or so but the Glastonbury location. Always order the same meal. Today I got it and it was maybe 1/4th of the normal portion at the Middlebury location. Pointed it out to our server who told her manager but nothing was done at all. Didn't even bother talking to us or offering something. Overall very disappointing and left me feeling just as hungry. I went to Maggie's for lunch. We started off with chicken wings. If I am a snob about any kind of food, it's chicken wings. I have a rating system that very few restaurants can live up to. While Maggie's definitely isn't home to the best wings around, they certainly weren't the worst. They were a good size. Maggies seems to use the run-of-the-mill Franks Red Hot/butter combination. Call me a cynic, but I was expecting worse from a "chain-type" place. I had the Chicken Artichoke and Feta Panini. I usually shy away from panini's because I've had ones where the bread is too thick and crusty and the whole sandwich was inedible. I was pleasantly surprised by the panini at Maggies. Nice panini bread! Also, the combination of chicken, artichoke and feta was quite good. My husband had a cheeseburger. He only ate half, so I'm guessing it wasn't the best he's had. However, he didn't complain. The service was good. Nothing really to report in that area. Oh wait...the silverware was gross! After unrolling it from the cloth napkin, I pretty much saw an extra free meal sitting on the knife. read more
