Everything was slow, getting bread & drinks. Good thing runners delivered our meals. Didn't ask us about refills and slow at getting our check. Bad experience! I ve always enjoyed going to Maggiano's to replicate the rich southern Italian food experience - eggplant parmigiana, crisp chop salad, tiramisu. The only thing that met expectations was tiramisu. There was no eggplant, the chicken Marsala was not as well prepared and plated as in the past, the dining experience was much worse than our many other visits (our waitress did her best but had too many tables to serve). The 'premium' wines (I tasted two reds - one of them the higher priced option - $33 for a glass - and both were harsh. I chose not to have wine with my dinner). I'm hoping when we try Maggiano's again (and we're in no rush to go back), it will be better. Hope this comment is helpful. read more

Came here to try it for our pre rehearsal dinner to see if it's something we'd want to book for it. I can say this is some of the best Italian food I've had. Our waitress Victoria was the most pleasant, attentive waitress I've ever had. We sat outside which had nice music playing and was very laid back. The food was so amazing, HUGE portions, highly recommend splitting the meals. Also got the chefs appetizer specials and it was delicious, as was the smoked old fashioned. I'm Italian from NY. I've lived in Ohio over 10 years now and this is the only place I got for Italian food, unless I'm cooking it at home. Waited about a half hour for a table for 2 on a Sunday at 7. Not a big deal. Worth the wait. Not a very loud place. Average noise level for a restaurant. Not a bad date spot. You can still hear the person across from you without any issues. Sat upstairs, which I wasn't too fond of (yes, it has 2 floors), but the restrooms are upstairs, so there ya go. Dave was our waiter. He's been here a good 10 years and knows his menu. Ordered the calamari and the truffle garlic bread. The calamari was cooked to perfection. Not chewy or rubbery. It's as if my grandmother cooked it. Just perfect. Truffle garlic bread was crunchy, yet soft on the inside. Four pieces was just the right amount for me and my guest. The cheese was fantastic. Paired very nicely with the truffle. Got a bottle of the Oberon. Great tasting. Pairs nicely with just about anything. Great sipping wine. Not oaky. Veal and the linguine di mare were ordered. Wow. The portion of veal was a generous portion. Veal was pounded out nicely. A little light on the sauce, but that's a matter of preference. Lots of mussels, clams and shrimp in the linguine. You will have to remove them from their respective defenses. Not a lot of lobster, but it's there and it's real. Linguine is done al dente. If you eat pasta any other way, you can't sit at my table. No dessert. If you have room for it, you should have finished your dinner. read more

We had a wonderful dinner with family from out of town. There were 10 of us and we called ahead just to get a timeframe since we know that's a larger group. She was so kind and told us it may be a 30 minute wait and we completely understand. Our service and dinner was so great. I wish I had taken pictures but the conversation was so good- I just forgot! I had the ravioli with pesto cream and marinara sauce- best I have had in years. At the table there was several chicken parms, cannelloni, spaghetti and a giant! meatball, salads (their signature Maggiano salad is great) and the most delicious rigatoni "D" which I will be getting next time! 1. This location has eliminated all value options from the menu, including Marco's for two options. All items are a la carte and significantly more expensive. 2. This location and most of locations are now pushing Wagyu beef options. I tried the Wagyu spaghetti and my wife had the ravioli. We gave both dishes a D grade. 3. While a lot of restaurants have raised prices, the increases at Maggianos seem disproportionately more expensive. Clearly, the value received at one time at Maggiano's has evaporated. 4. The service has deteriorated at this location. Our server clearly needed more training. Six different times we had to proactively request silverware, salad dressing, water refills, etc. 5. Normally, management stops by each table to inquire about the food and service. No manager was to be seen or visible. 6. We would normally take home extra meals. However, the option to take home add-on items is no longer an option. 7. What had long been a favorite restaurant has now been removed from our options for good Italian food. Sadly, we will not return and can not recommend this Maggiano's location. read more

I have always wanted to try this place. We made a reservation & I would not go here without one. It was crowded. We were seated within 10 minutes of arriving. Our server didn't take our order right away but it was okay because we needed time to peruse the menu. He brought us bread & there was olive oil on the table. The bread was meh. I ordered Chicken & Spinach Manicotti ($18.99) while hubby got Alaskan Cod ($20.99) & Garlic Mashed Potatoes ($6.99). The Manicotti was good. The Cod was tasty also. The mashed potatoes didn't taste like garlic at all & seemed warmed over. The service was excellent but the food was overpriced. This was my first experience here. Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly prepared. My salmon topped salad was exactly what I had in mind. The rigatoni had delicious mushrooms and chicken. My daughters mushroom ravioli was impeccable according to her. We ordered two children's meals: Mac and cheese, and pizza. They liked both. Maggianos were out of the lemon cookies so substituted chocolate cake balls. The only negatively was when went requested that our credit card not be entered over their app because of security concern. Biggest downside to this location Is it's location actually being part of the Kenwood Mall. One of the best Italian food restaurants we have been to. The interior is straight up rustic Italian style. We always order the bolognese which is exceptional and usually take half of it back to the hotel because of the large portions. Needed to do some shopping at Kenwood Mall recently and stopped in to Maggiano's for dinner while I was there. Even though connected to the mall, you enter from the outside. As soon as you walk in you are hit with great smells and a bit of nostalgic, upscale, classy Italian feel. We were seated in less than the 15min anticipated and had a fun, half booth, table, resembling a night club. The menus was extensive and there was many low carb options in addition to pasta. I chose fish with lemon, butter and capers on top of spinach. It was a huge portion and so good, I finished it all. I also got a side of garlic broccoli. My wife had an earthy risotto topped with a fillet. It was a nice portion, perfectly prepared, as I stole some . To finish the night my wife ordered the creme brulee '"mini" size and it was yummy, followed by coffee. Since it was my wife's birthday they brought her out some Italian lemon cookies with whipped cream topped with candles. Nothing embarrassing- just right. The manager also came over and offered his congratulations and a card with coupon with a present. Service was great and I tipped accordingly. Really nice to return here after a long absence. I was literally there the last night they shut down for COVID back in March of '20. I'm sorry it took me so long to get back but I lived farther away and this was the first opportunity in a long time to get up to Kenwood. Anyway, it was a great evening. Clayton was our server and he did everything to make everything great for us. I had the middle cut filet which was juicy and very tender with great vegetables and mashed potatoes. My other half had the shrimp cacciatore which he said was excellent. We shared the creme brulee which was also very well done and only 250 calories. Our daughter came into town from college and wanted to go here. We both got the grilled salmon - I got the grilled salmon salad and she got the grilled salmon on a Caesar salad. The grilled salmon was the best we have had in a very very long time!!! I got the grilled asparagus as a side - great! She got the mashed potatoes as a side and loved them. Today was my (and my husband's) second visit to Maggiano's. It's been a long while since our last visit, only because it's not close to home. My impression after our first visit was Wow! This place is amazing! This most recent visit did not disappoint either. Sadly, I cannot recall what tasty dish I enjoyed during our first visit, so let's talk about today's dining experience. For starters, we ordered the bruschetta and also shared a bowl of Chicken and Potato Soup. Both were very good, especially the soup. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Francese, The potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the chicken was really tender. For dessert, we shared the Creme Brulee -- the biggest creme brulee I have ever seen! The portion sizes are huge! So I would highly suggest sharing an entree or be prepared to take home a doggie bag. This was our first time coming here, we were celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary. Our waitress Andrea was an amazing help. She suggested a few items on the menu for us and they were all amazing. we started with the margherita pizza, which was a first for both of us, The way the simple ingredients combined was unbelievable, I had the four cheese ravioli which was AMAZING, full of flavor from the first bite to the last, and my wife had the mom's Lasagna with Italian sausage, provided just enough spice to be enjoyable and not over powering. We finished with the Crème Brûlée which was just as good as the rest of the meal.
