He was extremely patient and knowledgeable in his approach and with answering any and all questions I had. I've organized and moved myself and family members over 15 times and this was the absolute worst experience I've ever had. Read the negative reviews and that's pretty much what happened to us. They use pressure to get you to sign their ridiculous contract and then say you also have a contract with some random company (the one they hired to come) that we've never heard of or spoken to. They arrived in a Budget Rent A Truck. Nothing on truck saying companies name. When the quote suddenly goes up by thousands of dollars they say we'll just leave. You're sitting there with a fully packed up house and they aggressively force you to pay the extra. Also, promised a one day move day (pack and deliver) when we talked to the "SALES" guy and then when the movers (that we never knew about) they tell us we aren't sure what day you'll get your stuff. Even recommended buying a couple of blow up beds! Had to get very expensive hotel room for 2 nights. Have tried to discuss with the customer service rep and got absolutely nowhere. I've never left a negative review like this but months later, I continue to feel taken advantage of, cheated and tricked. Bottom Line: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I booked with Bradley Chestnut on December 13th. The plan was to move from NY to MD. I explicitly asked if a refund was possible as I was in remission for cancer at the time and the cancer could come back. Around February, I found out my health as not in great shape, so I had to cancel the move. I reached out to customer service and they said there was nothing they could do as they have to get approval from billing. Billing would have to get the okay from Bradley, confirming he said a refund was possible. Well, Bradley has either dodged my calls or hung up on me since I've been inquiring about the refund. I didn't think a company would treat customers this way, especially customers who are sick with cancer. Good Job, Magellan Van Lines. I was all ready to book my move with Magellan after talking with Travis for about an hour. His presentation was convincing and well communicated. I didn't put a deposit down. I was to call him in a couple of days to finalize details. After I hung up with him, I proceeded to take a look at the reviews on Magellan. I could not find even one favorable review. They are all very negative. This of course shot up red flags. He texted me 4/23/24 to see if we were all set to move forward. I responded and pretty much said what I've mentioned above. Then when the truth that they were using 18 wheeler trucks and had many moves all together on a huge truck they stopped taking my calls! DO NOT USE VAN LINES MOVING COMPANY! I'm posting this to make others aware. I have had the most awful experience with them and do not recommend them at all. They posted an ad on Facebook as Van Lines. I figured I'd book with them since they're a popular moving company. It seemed promising - I was quoted $1800 for a 1 bedroom move from FL to SC. In the end I've paid over $2800 ($1000 more than their original quote) and waited almost 3 weeks for my belongings to arrive. They advertise as "Van Lines" and then use other subcontractors/branches to do the work. In my case, a company called M&R Expedite Mover and Storage LLC did the moving and other branches (United Van Lines and Magellan Van Lines) were involved. Very poor, unprofessional management from them and their subcontractors - they do not care about their customers and their belongings whatsoever. I was scheduled for pickup on June 29. The night before on June 28, they called me at 9pm telling me they couldn't come until June 30 (the day my lease was ending - they were already aware of this). I said this was unacceptable as my lease was ending and they said they could "squeeze me in" for June 29. I was given an estimate of 11am for the pickup day and they didn't show up until 7:30pm. When they arrived they simply looked at my belongings (without taking measurements) and added several more "cubic feet" which increased the price. They also increased the price because I was on the third floor (even though I had made them aware of this beforehand). They didn't create an inventory list so luckily I took pictures of what I had. THEY SHOW UP AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE AND THEN INCREASE THE PRICE!!! They knew my lease was ending the next day so I didn't have a choice but to move forward with it. After they loaded up my stuff in the truck, they asked for a picture of my drivers license and credit card and wouldn't accept payment in any other way. My things were picked up on June 29 from FL and delivered it to SC July 18. Luckily I already had a bed and other furniture where I was going otherwise I would've had NOTHING. I can't imagine if I was moving into an empty apartment I would've had none of my belongings! They gave no warning or indication that it would take several weeks to deliver. I would have packed differently if I had known this. My things sat for over 2 weeks in a hot storage unit in FL. The boxes were in VERY poor condition upon arrival, some items were damaged/broken including my dresser and other pieces of furniture and special items, a piece of furniture including an expensive chair is lost/missing, and I was charged an additional $44 at the time of pickup. The movers also scratched up my mom's wood floors and made several dents in the walls. The management has not responded to my missing item, the additional charge, or my complaints. Overall I am extremely disappointed and upset with this company and the entire process. read more

Talk about a bait and switch! I had very nice and VERY detailed conversations with not one, but TWO "moving specialist/coordinators" who were very nice and professional UNTIL I needed them when things went wrong. And things DID go SOOOOOO wrong! I was highly organized prior to my move. I had boxed my own housewares and only contacted Magellan once I knew how many boxes I'd be shipping and what furniture would be going with me. I went so far as to do a Moving Inventory list - with photos - including ALL dimensions on EVERY piece of furniture and accessory I owned. I emailed BOTH of my contacts at Magellan, so they knew exactly what I had - including the number of small, medium, large and extra large boxes to go in a truck. I was quoted a price that worked for me. I was NEVER told that the quote might change on move day - and not only did it change, but it DOUBLED! At that point, the company Magellan had subcontracted out (FEDERAL MOVING and STORAGE) had all of my belongings in a truck and would hold it ransom until I paid the newly quoted fee. It was ludicrous. I ended up calling the police. I filed two separate police reports, got little help from Magellan and finally received my things - with an hour notice - in a new state. Absolute dog shit of a company. Used them back in 2023. Team full of dishonest fucks trying to scam people out of money. Paid over 3k for them to contract it out after I deliberately asked if they were a broker and was assured they had their own trucks and movers. Was assured that move would be direct from point a to point be, that there would be no semi, and belongings could be delivered within a month...well all of their assurances were bold face lies. Was contracted out to the lowest bidder. Pick up arrived 2 hrs late. Belonging were then moved to a storage facility in Vegas, not even along the route of the trip, for months. Then contracted the delivery out to a different company, which one of the two contracting companies damaged over 3k worth or furniture and collectables that couldnt be replaced. Upon delivery, got upcharged another $1k for a transfer fee, as they brought the goods on a semi and is unable to get through the neighborhood with it( this is why i asked upfront if it would be on a semi, which again was assured it would not be).for them to teansfer the goods into a uhaul and bring the goods. Lastly to put the cherry on top, when i brought up the damages to magellan, they stated that it mustve happened from a contractor and if i wanted reimbursement i would need to take it up with them. read more

For all I know it's been hacked and sold to the highest bidder. Do not cost this company for any kind of moving or logistical support or transportation. They also destroyed my Infiniti Q60 and now I have to deal with the repairs in that. They are only know terrible customer support, lying, they don't communicate with their customers, their quite was completely wrong because after pickup they wanted an additional half of the contracted amount added to the contract. so know they want me to pay 1.5 times the original contract. I booked Magellan Van Lines in May 2023 through Benn and Casey. They completely mislead me. They said the move would cost 6k and was the same driver and truck moving me. THEY NEVER MENTIONED THIS WAS A BROKER. When the movers showed up, they demand more money via cash (4K) and another 4k when delivered. The entire move cost me over 12k and they "misplaced" most of my belongings and broke my brand new 65 in tv and all my expensive itemS. I am a single female, I wish noNE of this on anyone. After the movers loaded my things on the truck they tried to get more money (cash) from us. Then it took over five weeks to move my things from CA to CO. From the day my things were loaded and taken, I could not get anyone to call me back. None of the telephone numbers lead to a person. None of my messages were returned. After leaving over 50 messages, I finally had to involve the BBB. The day of delivery, the driver showed up with no warning. While my "rep" was quick to call me to get my business, I could never get a call back from him after I paid. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I called Magellan to help my son move from California to Indiana. They quoted a price 980.00. Sounded ok. I looked to see if they had dot number, they did. I should've researched a little further I guess. Kyle advised if my son or I changed our mind we could get refunded the next day. I booked it at 6:30 pm. The next morning I found out the company was bad news. I called at 10:00 am to cancel the move and be refunded. They didn't perform any service for us. I was told I had to talk to billing. I talked to Sam and explained the situation and that Kyle said I could be refunded as they didn't do anything for us and she said no refund. I was flabbergasted. PLEASE AVOID this company like the worst disease you can possible think of!!! They are LIERS, CHEATERS & EXTORTIONISTS!!! They showed up and they rushed through wrapping and loading my precious belongings not taking time to be careful with anything. Then they said that I was mis quoted as I have too much stuff. I went over everything and measured everything when we did the quote. They made me go to my credit union to get them $700.00 cash to continue loading or they would unload and leave. The initial call sounded great. Had to put a deposit down, pretty normal. After that, I heard from no one for almost 2 weeks, calling constantly and even texting Kyle, who I initially worked with. No answers. Finally heard they would be picking up on a Monday morning and then it changed to Tuesday, between 9AM-10AM. They showed up at 1:17PM, reeking of pot and then insisted that we pay more money as we had more than they thought. Instead of another $602, they needed $1000. Paid it. No more calls about when the items would arrive to the new destination for almost 3 weeks. I was told I would hear from them 2- days before delivery. They called me the morning it was being delivered and instead of the final payment of $602, it was now $ 1672. The guy was rude, arrogant and very demeaning. Just because you add Miss to the front of someone's name, does not give you the right to be foul and nasty. He had my blood pressure so high with his rudeness he was lucky that I could not crawl through the phone. I agreed to pay the extra only because this was all of my elderly mother's belongings and I was tired of of having a battle of wits with unarmed person. Delivery driver was nice enough but when he tried to put a mattress with my stuff I said no, as I knew we had no mattress, he asked me if I wanted it, for free. Like this is probably someone else's property. The whole ordeal was terrible and I would NEVER recommend this company. Just don't! First this is a broker, not a van line. I even asked them point blank and was given an evasive answer that at the time I took to mean they were not a broker but they absolutely are. So they will give you an estimate that seems reasonable & I can assure it is no where close to what you will ultimately end up paying. The actual move was with Adam's Relocation which I also reviewed at 1 star. Our final move was well over $7,000 more than our estimate. They only take cash, Venmo or Zelle at delivery but I found out the hard way that venmo & zelle have pretty low limits so I was running all over town trying to get cash. They added on an extra $75 because we had an upstairs (just normal stairs, nothing steep or narrow). They only give .60/pound for insurance and then tried to claim some boxes were self pack hoping I wasn't paying attention. This was the most stressful thing I've been through. I should really write up a more detailed account but I honestly can give this whole experience anymore of my energy. I can't tell you how many times I questioned them about how accurate our estimate was and was assured it would not vary much. I would say that close $8K is well off. And they charge by space in the truck not weight so there is really no definitive way to even prove how much space was used. The company they contracted out to showed in a box truck for full house move from Colorado to Alabama. It took 1.5 trucks. Just go directly to a reputable, actual van line. Read the other 1 star reviews & you will see a pattern. And again, in addition to this avoid Adam's Relocation which is the actual van line. read more
