My friends and family who live in the area refer to it to as the Toys "R" Us location, because this was indeed a Toys "R" Us years ago. You can get lab work here, you can even get minor outpatient surgeries done here. A friend of mine had early stage breast cancer and this was not only where she was diagnosed but where her surgery was done. As for me, I have had my annual mammograms, a number of ultrasounds and a breast biopsy here. This is a facility where whatever you are here for is likely to have you feeling nervous, and the staff recognizes that and is absolutely expert at putting you at ease. From when you call and schedule through the day of your procedure, I have always felt treated with care and empathy. I know these are characteristics you would be looking for in any medical professional, but these are some especially touchy subjects and somehow the staff members they have hired here are exactly the right people for the job. The facility is bright and clean, with staff on hand upfront to direct and/or register you. Lots of space to sit and be comfortable for yourself and any support persons you might bring along. I'm glad to have this facility close to me.

I pulled up to the building and sat outside the front entrance for 10 minutes and no one came out. I called the office and was told someone would be out in just a minute. (when you call the number listed, you are not calling the office but an answering service). After 20 minutes of waiting and 3 phone calls to the office, I drove around and found a parking spot that was permit parking only, but I didn't care because I was already late for my appointment. When I was in the exam room the technician goes over my information and states I am there for a mammogram. I corrected her and said a mammogram with ultrasound. She told me my insurance would not cover the ultrasound, and she could only do the mammogram. I told her I would self-pay it's not a problem. Then she tells me I do not need an ultrasound. Excuse me? If it's written on my script directly from my OBGYN, then yes, I do need it. Then I am told there is no doctor there so I wouldn't be able to get it anyway. That is a flat out lie! If there wasn't a radiologist there, then why do you sit in the waiting room after your exam to get your results? There was most certainly a radiologist there, but the technician was refusing to perform the ultrasound which was written by my physician. At that point, I gather up my things and walk out. She is not a physician and should NOT be giving medical advice! MY OBGYN faxed my script to Weinstein Imaging on 2/4/2025, 3 weeks before my appointment. That gave the office plenty of time to call me and let me know the ultrasound was not covered and ask if I wanted to proceed with the exam and self-pay. You do not assume anything when it comes to someone else's health.

The Main waiting room can sometimes be full but I have never waited longer than 5-10 minutes to be called for my mammogram. I have gotten the same technician each time. She is incredibly sweet. She takes you back to the office for mammograms. There is a changing room there with a place to put your shirt and bra. They have a waiting room in that office but I've never had to wait there. You are then taken back and the images are taken. It is done quickly but nicely. The tech keeps asking how you are doing. She checks after each image to make sure it's good before moving to the next one. When you are done you go back to the changing room and get dressed. I've also had a breast sonogram done there and it was done in the same manner. The technicians are very kind and explain everything before they take the images or do the sonogram. I highly recommend it.

My first appointment (early December) was cancelled with less than 24 hours notice due to the physician's schedule. I lost a day of PTO due to that, but rescheduled for later in the month. For that appointment, I sent my updated insurance information by email, as they requested. Despite having 3.5 weeks to confirm, they called me 45 minutes before closing the day before my rescheduled appointment of time to say that, not only were they not able to confirm my insurance, but that my insurer told them I did not have an active plan (I do). Because the clinic called me less than an hour before closing, I was unable to connect with my insurer by phone to get the clinic confirmation. I ended up cancelling my appointment due to frustration and lack of any options provided by the most clinic's administrators. They would not allow me to bring proof of coverage to my appointment, a typical practice for any other reputable physician's office.

Allegheny General Hospital outpatient center is an offshoot of Allegheny General Hospital. Various…read moremedical offices are located there including primary care, women's health, orthopedic surgery, digestive health, and the list goes on. The center is also equipped for diagnostic testing including an endoscopy unit and MRI. I've been to this location on a number of different reasons to see either a physician or have a procedure. During this particular visit I came for an MRI of my knee. Co-Vid guidelines are in place and are strictly enforced. After answering the usual screening questions I was escorted back by a technician who explained the procedure and addressed my concerns. Everything went well with the test and I was out of there fairly quickly. The first floor has a small grab and go for food. Internet reception here is very poor. Suggest go outside if you need to make phone call. Due to HIPAA restrictions photography is strictly prohibited in the facility. Across the entrance they have a parking garage which fills very quickly if you don't get there early. Parking is on par with Allegheny General Hospital. Expect to pay $7.00 minimum for the 1st two hours of your visit. Unfortunately in all my visits here not one practice validates parking for any discount. I have been pleased otherwise will all my visits to this facility. They are located on E North Ave not far from Allegheny General Hospital.

First, I had an appointment with the nurse practitioner Ann Patterson. After a short wait in the waiting room, a friendly medical assistant measured my height and weight and took my vital signs. She said that my blood pressure of 114/62 was "low," but actually it is normal. (I am a registered nurse.) After a wait of several minutes, the nurse practitioner entered the room. She spoke very courteously to me. She discussed my and my family's medical history. Then she performed a physical examination. She ordered a routine vaccine, laboratory tests, and an x-ray. Many minutes later, another employee entered the room to administer the vaccine, but he had mistakenly drawn up a slightly different type. Several minutes later, he returned with the correct vaccine. He properly administered it into my deltoid muscle. After this appointment, I visited other departments to receive my laboratory tests and x-rays. UPMC put the test results on their website, and the nurse practitioner wrote notes to explain that my results were normal. One year later, I had an appointment with the physician Jennifer Mall. A medical assistant took my height, weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and heart rate. My appointment was in the early morning, but the physician did not arrive at work until 45 minutes later. The medical assistant said that the physician usually arrives late so she can drop her children off at school. I think that they should not make me wait 45 minutes. The physician asked some questions, did a brief physical assessment, and ordered routine laboratory tests. Later, at home, I logged onto UPMC's website to view the physician's Visit Summary and Notes. I felt surprised to see a temperature recorded for me, because nobody ever took my temperature. I have no medical conditions, so no follow-ups or treatments are needed.

I walked in (no appointment needed) and signed in on the sign-up sheet. A woman that worked there told me to "just sit down and they'll call you". I started to sit and before I got onto the chair they called me in. It was maybe 3 minutes from top to bottom! The person drawing the blood (wish I remembered her name...) literally had a needle in my vein immediately and got the blood she needed. The whole visit took about 10 minutes max! I can't say enough about how efficient it all was. Granted, they could be much busier at other times and it might take longer but I was impressed. A+

The nurses and doctors where fine the receptionists where fine as well. My problem is that they call it a hospital when it really is just a big urgent care facility. After blood work and testing the doctor said that they where not capable of diagnosing my sons problems as they do not have any specialty doctors on staff. What the heck no specialty doctors why even call yourself a hospital???????. The doctors said they where going to transfer him to Wexford Hospital. I do not get it they do thousands and thousands of dollars in tests only to say they can't do anything to help. Then to boot some one is paying for an ambulance to transfer him to the other hospital. If I was you I would avoid this so called hospital like the plague. I will be sure to never go here again. This is not a hospital so do not be fooled into thinking it is. If you have basic problems I am sure they can help, But anything remotely serous there is no way for them to help you. I must say again please do not go here unless you have no serious problems. With that said It was our fault for going here. I would normally give one star but the nurses and even the doctors where very nice even if they could not help. Normally for this level of care I would probably give 3-4 stars. Overall I will give 2 stars which is very generous.

The location is off several bus lines and they have parking available, they will validate your parking if you go to an office. The care I received was excellent and I can appreciate that the Endocrinologist wants me to see a PCP vs him as I am not in need of the specialized care.
