I walked in (no appointment needed) and signed in on the sign-up sheet. A woman that worked there told me to "just sit down and they'll call you". I started to sit and before I got onto the chair they called me in. It was maybe 3 minutes from top to bottom! The person drawing the blood (wish I remembered her name...) literally had a needle in my vein immediately and got the blood she needed. The whole visit took about 10 minutes max! I can't say enough about how efficient it all was. Granted, they could be much busier at other times and it might take longer but I was impressed. A+

I have to say i was a little confused as to how to rate this so called hospital…read more My son was very sick and has AHN insurance. My wife took him to AHN Mccandless Hospital. The nurses and doctors where fine the receptionists where fine as well. My problem is that they call it a hospital when it really is just a big urgent care facility. After blood work and testing the doctor said that they where not capable of diagnosing my sons problems as they do not have any specialty doctors on staff. What the heck no specialty doctors why even call yourself a hospital???????. The doctors said they where going to transfer him to Wexford Hospital. I do not get it they do thousands and thousands of dollars in tests only to say they can't do anything to help. Then to boot some one is paying for an ambulance to transfer him to the other hospital. If I was you I would avoid this so called hospital like the plague. I will be sure to never go here again. This is not a hospital so do not be fooled into thinking it is. If you have basic problems I am sure they can help, But anything remotely serous there is no way for them to help you. I must say again please do not go here unless you have no serious problems. With that said It was our fault for going here. I would normally give one star but the nurses and even the doctors where very nice even if they could not help. Normally for this level of care I would probably give 3-4 stars. Overall I will give 2 stars which is very generous.

Nobody wants to be referred for a diagnostic mammogram. This means you are having some type of…read moreproblem and, unlike a normal screening mammogram, you are starting from a place of being extremely scared. I live much closer to the Magee imaging location in Pleasant Hills, but the first available appointment I was offered was here at Passavant so of course I took it. The staff here knows you are having a rough day and treats you with absolute kindness and professionalism. Although I had filled out detailed paperwork in advance, the radiologist sat down with me to talk through it before doing my imaging to make sure she understood my problem and concerns fully. I did not feel remotely rushed. It was explained to me that if I needed any additional imaging to zero in on a problem, they would be doing it before I left, and everything would be read and explained to me then and there. This is exactly what you want and need in this situation. I was very fortunate to have a good result today and the radiologist took me into a private room so the doctor who read the imaging could talk with me. Again I did not feel rushed as we discussed the issue, my results and next steps. The doctor could see that I was very scared and emotional and held my hand while sharing the news, and gave me a hug as I left. I felt so compassionately cared for as a whole person, not just a patient. I'm sure these professionals are dealing with a wide variety of situations daily and I know from having my own family in the medical profession that this takes a toll over time. I appreciate them doing what they do in such a kind, thorough and professional manner.

Here, I had an appointment for my first-ever mammogram, and the two employees provided me with highly professional service. Upon my arrival at the main entrance to the hospital, I used my cell phone to call a phone number to check in with the registration desk. The registration employee kindly gave me directions for navigating through the hospital to her office. She then gave me a registration form to fill out. Within a few minutes, she walked me to another room to change out of my shirt and to put on a gown. (Make sure to wear a two-piece outfit and to not wear any powder, lotion, or deodorant.) The second employee performed the mammogram. She also had a very kind personality. I had no idea how to position my body in the mammogram machine. The mammogram felt physically painful, and initially I pulled my body away, but the employee very patiently repositioned me to ensure that the images turned out well. Tip: For me, leaning to the right or left and grabbing onto handles helped me to not pop out of the machine. A radiologist should read my mammogram images in 7-10 business days. The results will be sent to me both online and through the mail. Sometimes patients must return for additional testing if a "technical recall" occurs and additional views are needed. I hope that my first set of images are good enough that I do not have to return again until next year!

Thank You Thank You…read more Thank You to the Drs. and Nurses and the Entire Staff here that saved our son Michael Alexanders life this past month. The action that Michaels team took on the 18th of April with emergency surgery definitely saved his life. Quick thinking and skilled expertise is the Main reason he is still among the living. The Nurses in ICU when we would call for updates were so professional, always telling us the hard truth and reassuring us they were doing everything possible to get Michael up and out of the hospital Alive. Not easy getting the news from 3k miles away in San Diego however we knew that other than praying we could do very little to help our son if we were there in person. Drs., Nurses and Staff were the Miracle workers . Pancreatitis and Pneumonia aren't easy to overcome even with the Amazing Medical Teams here combined with our sons incredible will to live we got a Happy Ending. We can Never Thank You and you entire Team enough.!! I hope anyone that reads this will put their complete confidence into the folks that work here on a daily basis. God Bless You All, Mike Sirota San Diego, California

The other 3 hours were spent waiting in a small exam room. I was running back and forth to the bathroom. They didn't hook me up to an I.V. Of saline solution for about 2 hour. The said I was lucky to get that because there was a shortage. I realize that there might have been sicker people than myself, but the experience was unacceptable. Over the years I have used UPMC Passavant ER a few times and the experience is always the same. From here on out I will use AHN Wexford & I suggest that you do too.

I don't have insurance so I called and asked what I could expect cost wise...she told me $140 at the most. When all was said and done, they charged me $240 for an X-ray and a knee brace. The doctor seemed like he was in a huge hurry and basically rushed me out, prescribed me some sort of pain Medicine and didn't even tell me what it was, I had to find out from my pharmacist...it was 800 mg ibuprophen...which I had already been taking every six hours for the last two weeks. They did not help me at all and way overcharged. Plus, it was not pristine and clean like you would expect a medical office to be. The only reason I give it even two stars is because the nurse was very sweet.

My husband took me to have it examined because it was a holiday and we couldn't see our family doctor and I was I a lot of pain. When Dr. Akindele entered the exam room, where an EXAM should took place he only looked at my ankle, asked where it hurt and suggested an X-ray. He did not physically examine me. When he returned from reading the X-ray he said that there was no break or fracture that he could see but that a radiologist would have the final say. He said he did not know why my ankle is hurting and that we should keep it wrapped, take anti inflammatories (which we had knew we had been doing for the past week) and to see our family doc or a podiatrist. When my husband repeated back to him he was advising us to do when we left, he became very confrontational saying that he could "read between the lines" of what my husband was saying and that my husband was insulting him. When my husband reassured him that that was not his intention he only shook his head no and said "Yes you are and I've been in this game for 35 years". When my husband said no one is questioning your experience he stated "yes you are and you it's insulting". The doctor was the one who argumentatively threw out how many years of experience he had. My husband again said he just wanted to be clear and repeated the Dr's advice - wait for X-ray results, stay off of the ankle and see someone else, at which point the Dr agreed. He agreed to the same thing my husband said earlier that OFFENDED HIM SO MUCH in the beginning. So we basically paid for an X-ray, an "I don't know what is wrong with your ankle", see another provider and continue doing what we had already been doing for the past 6 days. I left with no idea when I would get the X-ray results, no attempt at a diagnosis, no treatment and a whole lot of UNPROFESSIONALISM! I had to ask the receptionist for an ace bandage as I was hobbling out. OH and if I wanted 2 bandages that will be an additional $4. Since when does it take 35 years of medical experience to suggest an x-ray and send you to another physician?
