Definitely planning to use and recommend Jose and A-Pro Handyman for any future repair needs.

This is not a review for work done because we did not yet choose a company. However, Oscar was so…read morecourteous and professional that I felt he deserved acknowledgement and earned a 5 star review for doing the following: 1. He showed up a few minutes before the set appointment 2. He and is partner were both wearing a mask. This impressed me because I've had several service reps come to my home without masks! 3. He automatically took his shoes off before entering my home 4. He did not try to upsell me on the work to be done. 5. I received an itemized and professional invoice before he pulled out of the parking spot. Even though we did not choose him for this job, that does not mean I won't reach out to him for another job. I felt his pricing was fair but my husband felt we should continue to shop around. Who's to say that we won't end up going with him, after all? I have never given a review based upon an estimate but Oscar was so professional and courteous and that is something that is seriously lacking from MANY service reps these days. If we contract him for the work, I will update the review with pictures and add a review for the work performed

I hired Eduardo to fix faux shutters on my house that came loose and fell as the result of a storm…read more This was all the way back in July I believe... I am still waiting for him to finish the job. He showed up on time did the initial work of securing the loose shutter to the home and reapplying the one that had fallen... within one week or so one of the shutters began to come loose already. Meanwhile, I had paid him on time immediately after he contacted me letting me know that the job was complete with a picture. I sent him payment via Zelle. A week later that shutter is now loose and I am trying to contact him to get him to come back out and complete the job that I had paid him for. it took many weeks of texting and cajoling him via iMessage to try and get him to come back out and do the work. He would constantly send me messages saying that he would respond back with a time that he would be able to come out and resolve the issue. he never did. What would happen is I would have to contact him after several days till week to find out if there were any updates and then I would wait days to hear back from him. At one point he did claim to have come back out to the house and fix the shutter work that was not done correctly during his first visit. I mistakenly believed him... Because he said that he had done the work and sent a picture. That very same week the tenant that lives at my property contacted me to let me know that the shutter was still askew and hanging off of the house. Now, I don't know if he actually did the work or if he did such a poor job again that the shutter immediately fell off the house, within a day or two of him having claimed to have fixed the issue. So the original work was done in July and this is probably now mid to late August. I'll go back-and-forth with him trying to get him to come out and do the work, and do a good job with finality that lasts more than several days. Anyhow, I contacted him after being informed the shutter was still falling off the house... And it is now late September and I am still messaging him And he is still responding that he will go back out and fix it or that he will let me know when he will be able to make it back out to my place... And that was days ago. If you're going to do business with this person, I would suggest you get some kind of work guarantee because the work was very shoddy and the customer service has been poor. I paid this guy immediately after he informed me the work was done and within days the work was falling apart. It is now been two months of me trying to text him and Kajol him into coming back out and fixing this issue once and for all. Unfortunately I hired him via Thumbtack app and there is no recourse for me because I paid him in cash electronically via Zelle. At this point I am just out of $180 which is what he charge me to install a shutter that had fallen and to secure another one that was loose. I would not hire this person again. Their work is poor, and their customer service is even worse. All I ever receive so far is empty promises and a wasted $180. I recommend you not hire this person for any handyman work unless you can pay him via credit card or some other avenue that afford you recourse if the job is not done as expected or the quality is short-lived. I wish I hadn't also left him a positive review on thumbtack before his work quite literally fell apart days later.

Stay away! Sounds very nice and convey eagerness and a lot…read moreof good will as a young professional looking to make a living; i was naive. As he has a Yelp Guarantee, Dwayne was hired to make a house "rental ready", including complete paint of walls, ceiling, doors, trim and baseboard and other items. 1. He did not deliver the mutually signed scope of work. 2. Promised to show receipts for material he bought, and did not. he told me he needs to buy completely new paint to match; i agreed and asked him to keep the original in the garage... but when i asked about it, he told me he through it away. oh ya... 3. He did not complete the job - not on time nor AT ALL. As I am remote, he represented that he painted everything, and showed me certain things on video, via zoom. But when tenant came to the house, i got the reality in my face. he made paint touches, unprofessionally, with different paint color on the wall, trim and basedboard. i will let you judge by the pictures. I am not suggesting he did nothing, but he did not do many other items he said he had done; i had to get other vendors and pay twice. I sufferred losses, and had to rent out the house "as is" at a lower rental rate. Bottom line - he got his chance; I would not give him another. You can judge for yourself!

He was thorough, so friendly and I felt safe (which is important!). I finally realized that I forgot to send him $$$ for the time he spent and effort he went to find the source of the activity in my home and for climbing around on top of my roof and applying sealant to when the leak was.
