David, It is…read moreobvious your words (see below where you pleaded Mia Coupa / my bad) were merely an effort to assuage prospective customer's fears about doing business with you. Bottom line you have no intention of making good on your offer to clean up the awful mess you made. Approximately a week ago I asked you if you were confident you could correct the mess you made. You never responded. That is not the posture of a man who regrets what he has done. In your initial response you suggested 2 options (.... I would like to offer full repair at no additional cost to you to help make things right or a partial refund.... Please let me know what feels fair to you, and how best we can proceed.). I think it is in both of our best interests to end this project on friendly terms. Instead of a partial refund, please return all of the money. I will need it to hire someone to clean up what you did, buy additional materials and then complete the job correctly. And here's the kicker, you used tunnel vision on this project. I am a senior citizen with friends, family and I belong to several organizations. One of the most common conversations I hear is 'I wish I had a reliable, handyman, I could trust'. Here are some of the words you offered in the way of an apology: ... I also deeply regret that I accepted a job I was not fully prepared for,... ... I failed to honor that trust, and I take full responsibility. My vow to you and my future customers definitely include additional training to ensure this never happens again... Sincerely, Ms. Trudye Nesbit

Jeff actually got the quote back to us the next day, and the quote was the price range we were hoping for. (Read: not what we expected, what we hoped it would cost) He was able to come over a couple days later and everything looked phenomenal. He did a fantastic job. He had done everything from drywall touch ups, painting, new faucet hose in the kitchen, install a new garage door opener, install a new hanging light, put a new handle on our microwave, and install a new storm door. I'm sure there's things I'm forgetting but it seems like he can do about it all. We had Jeff recommended from a friend of my husbands from work, and I'm so glad we went with him. He got everything done within a week of contacting him, probably a fraction of what most places cost, and is honestly just a nice guy. When I discovered that it was still present, I called Dan back. He came to my home the next day, went up into the attic, climbed on my roof, noticed a leak (totally unrelated to my phantom visitor) and applied sealant. He was thorough, so friendly and I felt safe (which is important!). He went above and beyond to find the source of the critter, and again, while doing so advised me of other situations at my home (i.e., the leak). When I asked him what I owed him, he said nothing...because he wasn't able to find the squirrel/bird/? That is excellent customer service. If I were to review myself, however, I would get not even one star. Dan and I talked about other things he does and we thought he would be a good fit re: doing some side work as he is a craftsman as well. I reached out several times and never received a response. I thought it was really odd because we talked about other plans for my house...I was really excited! I finally realized that I forgot to send him $$$ for the time he spent and effort he went to find the source of the activity in my home and for climbing around on top of my roof and applying sealant to when the leak was. In closing, I'll reiterate that Dan is great (!) and I need to get back on my Adderall.
