Customer service issue :( I've eaten here approximately 10-12 times, introducing multiple friends and family. I WAS a net promoter. Went the other night around 7:30, party of two. Waited to be greeted. Offered a small table at the end of the middle section next to the bar and directly next to the flow of traffic for a slew of takeout orders. Asked that we please be seated at the open booth, which had a reserve sign. The man looked surprised and again wanted to seat us at the other table. I said it's ok we can wait. Female employee then came to check on us and again wanted to seat us at the small table. I said can you please seat us at the booth. She said no it's reserved only for 3-4 people. I said but nobody is waiting and it's more comfortable to sit there. She argued with me NO we won't seat you there. I said so you would rather not seat us and we come here all the time because you want to wait for a bigger party? Sure enough. I said well that's fine then we're going to leave she said ok go ahead!..... Nobody else ever came in behind us mind you. Also the large picnic table by the door was open as it always is with another fake reserved sign. So they'd rather loose a longtime customer whose brought people in on the prospect of potential for 1-2 more people in a party to sit there? GREEDY. read more

Restaurant had ample space, and super cute decor! Staff were nice and attentive. There were a variety of dishes to select from, I got the famous volcano Tom yum mama pad which cost about $20. While it was good, I personally wouldn't reorder it again and give the other dishes a chance next time read more

Three of our favorite dishes in Thai food is Larb Drunken noodle and Krapao, so we ordered those to test Both are averaging good, we have had much better and more authentic, however, it's good enough for us. Service is great, food came out real fast, the young lady came by to check on us and to refill our drinks often We also like the ambiance, very cozy, clean, simple, just wished a better kind of music! We will come back to try different dishes read more

A new hometown classic. Centrally located on Bradlick between Burke & Annandale, this is one of the new treasures of the area. I went here three times in two weeks! The service was always exceptional and the food was so good we had to go again multiple times to try everything on the menu. Personal favorites are the The atmosphere is super cute and cozy with their picnic concept, it feels like a spring festival inside. They also have a lively bathroom with party lights and EDM playing. read more

This Thai restaurant was divine! Super cute inside, tucked away in a shopping plaza in Annandale. The food is really tasty. Enjoy fellow foodies!!!! read more

As we walked in, we were greeted immediately and were able to get a table. The interior decorations were colorful and instrumental music was playing on repeat. To my understanding, this restaurant has only been open for 5 months according to our server. We order 1) Fried tofu. The tofu was lightly coated and fried serve with sweet chili sauce 2) Moo ping served with small basket of sticky rice and sweet sauce. The skewer pork could have been charred a little bit longer 3) Sun dried beef served with sweet chili and sriracha sauce 4) Chicken satay served with a peanut sauce 5) Yum woon sen mixed with minced chicken, shrimp, red onions, cilantro, tomato wedges and a light vinaigrette 6) Panang curry only offer medium and spicy 7) Pad see eiw served with stir-fry beef, Chinese broccoli and eggs 8) mango with sticky rice (2). All the dishes were made to order and scrumptious. We will definitely make a return visit to try other items on the menu. read more

I ordered the Som Tum Platter (Lao style) from Mae Ornnit Thai Kitchen. The flavor leaned more towards a strong padaek taste, which wasn't quite what I expected. I added a bit more sugar and lime to balance it out, and after that, it was pretty tasty! Overall, a solid dish, and I'd be happy to try more from their menu. read more

Cute place. Pleasant service Lunch special advertised at $11.95 with portions being quite small, you get what you pay for. - Drunken noodle - 8/10 - Volcano Mama Noodle - 9/10 good flavor, would be a bit better if they can marinate or salt the boiled vegetables - Fish Cake - 7/10 - Pork Skewer - 5/10 not the best ones I've had. Need flavor and not marinated. Needed the sauce to help it. Won't order again - Strawberry Yogurt - 1/10 soda water with one small yogurt drink with a bit of strawberry. Can't justify paying $6.95 for this. - Thai Iced Tea - 7/10 need more cream and it's a bit too sweet to my liking. Ice filled the glass half full Nice addition in the shopping center. Wouldn't personally go out of my way to come here as there are many other Thai restaurants with more flavor and bigger portions. read more

Was very excited to see a new Thai restaurant open very near my home. Decided to dine in last night and was overall happy with the experience. Food: Went with the pad thai with chicken and it was delicious and generous in portion. For dessert, I went with the traditional mango sticky rice. The guy warned me beforehand that the mango would be a little on the sour side because it was not in season but I thought it was just fine because it complimented the subtle sweetness of the coconut and rice. I loved it and happily enjoyed every bite. I wanted to try the moo ping for an appetizer as well but will try next time. I overheard the guy recommending it to a family of 6 that was sitting next to me. Service: Attentive, informative, and very friendly from the young lady. Forgot to ask for her name but she was very sweet and kindly answered some questions I had about the menu. At the time I went, they were fairly busy with about 6-7 tables in use. There was also a young lady at the bar and a young gentleman with glasses that helped out the waitress who greeted me. Ambiance: It's a small and cozy restaurant with cute posters depicting Thai pop culture and art. Nothing extravagant but very simple and pleasing to the eye. Definitely felt very welcome. Highly recommended and nice addition to the Bradlick shopping center. read more

First visit and had a feast to try multiple dishes! Fried wonton - absolutely crispy and light. 4.5/5 Papaya salad - good portion and flavorful. Make sure you mix well with the dressing on the bottom! 4/5 Crisply Chicken with green curry - best choice! So crispy and juicy meat and green curry worked so well with it. Definitely returning for this 5/5 Tom Yum Noodle Soup - Spicy and flavorful. Less on the "funky" end but still very good and worked well with sea food. Portion was on the smaller end for the money but I was pleased with quality. 4/5 Kapow bomb - we were too full to eat this. Took this home... Overall, the service was excellent and food was great. read more

Really was expecting more based on the previous reviews. If Yelp allowed for half stars, I might go with 3 and a half stars, but I'll give it 3. My picks... Steamed dumplings were mushy and underwhelming . The soy sauce mixture helped only a little. For entree, I ordered the Garlic Stir Fry with beef. Because of the name, I wanted the garlic to hit me on the face. Instead I only got a love tap. I barely tasted the garlic. The broccoli was the worst part of the meal. It was bland and tasted like it was frozen from a bag. The soy sauce saved it, otherwise I would've not taken another bite. The Singha beer was nice and cold. There are SO many other Thai places around serving up more flavorful dishes. Mar Ornitt, you will really need to elevate your flavors for me to return read more

Came here when they first opened. Staff was so kind and welcoming. The decor is very cozy and cutely decorated. They carefully concocted our drinks and every drink was presented beautifully and more importantly, delicious. Drinks: - Mango Sticky Rice Smoothie 10/10 Must try! - Strawberry Yogurt - Thai Tea - Thai Coffee Authentic Thai food, one of the best Thai restaurants that I've visited in NoVA. Their pad Thai along with the other dishes I've tried are some of the best and price is reasonable. - Crispy Spring Rolls - Thai Dumplings - Sundried Beef 10/10 - Pineapple Fried Rice - was not a fan of the raisins - Yen Ta Fo Noodle Soup 10/10 - Pad Thai 10/10 - Volcano Tom Yum Mama Pad 10/10 - Papaya Salad 10/10 Desserts are also a must try! - Mango Sticky Rice - they give extra coconut sauce which I love - Limoncello Cake 10/10 - Chocolate Cake 10/10 Honestly, a really great addition to the area and can not wait to go back to try more of their dishes! read more

Jackpot! I've been at this plaza every other week for a year and never noticed this spot. Thank goodness we decided we found this place as we searched for a new Thai spot to try. The food was just outstanding! The perfect amount of zest in the Tom Yum soup, authentic flavors and chewiness of the Phad Thai, and the super crispy, but moist, fried chicken served with the gai grob massaman. The servers were incredible attentive and carried a positive attitude. Like I said, we never noticed the spot from the outside... but as soon as we entered - the place was packed and buzzing with positive energy. Definitely making this a frequent spot for us. Great food, good price, great service! read more

Amazing food and service, we had the spring rolls, all the curries and they tasted really good

My boyfriend and I tried those things and it was delicious! First time seeing Mango Sticky Rice Smoothie and tried it. Felt like drinking mango smoothie more! You can't taste much of the sticky rice. Nice to try but definitely will stick with the regular mango sticky rice because you can taste more of mango and sticky rice, coconut combine together. The noodles was 8/10, it was a lot, needs to share with someone to finish it! Cute place, vibe! Highly recommend to try this place! read more

I think this place is relatively new. I've lived here for years and just noticed it. I found it comfortable. The decor's peaceful and homey, if you like wood panneling and bright colors. The service was positive, polite, and efficient. I had the Thai dumpling appetizer... some of the best that I've *ever* had. Full of flavor, warm but not too hot, and not tough/chewy. I had Kapow! Pork for the main dish, medium spicy. Solid stuff. The vegetables were fresh; they still had some crunch to them (they were thoroughly cooked, but not *over*cooked). Meat was prepared well, and the rice was just sticky enough. To drink, they automatically provided water, and I ordered a lemonade. It was good. Lemony, but subtly so. It wasn't really tart, but wasn't overpoweringly sweet, either. I'd order it again, and I'm planning on coming back. read more

You got me hooked! My wife and i went there twice in the past two weeks, I don't know if we will go to any other Thai restaurants going forward. I literally would recommend every single dish that I've had there. The food representation was good, and most dishes were packed with smokey flavor (aka wok hei, breath of the wok) which i absolutely love. The service was amazing as well, I never had to ask for the server, they always showed up at the perfect time. This place definitely gives you the most bang for your buck, I can't wait to go back again. read more

Absolutely amazing local find!! Mae Ornnit has become one of my favorite nova restaurants now! I loved their interior design and the staff were all super nice and gave us great recommendations. My friend and I got a few apps as well, but we ate them so quickly before I could snap a photo Their ice scream was also amazing, topped with peanuts and a side of savory sweet sticky rice. The flavors, food quality, and portion side was a 10 outta 10! read more

Not sure why this place has such great reviews... it's very mediocre. High priced for the portion. Wasn't really that fresh or flavorful. The pad thai was kind of dry and really lacked flavor. Maybe dining IN would be different? For now, I'm going back to Bangkok Street Thai as my #1. read more

I got it togo and honestly did not expect much. But omg, its really really good. Im very picky with lad na, but this place nailed it. Their pad thai was not bad as well. Im definitely will come back. Food came out in about 10mins. I highly recommend to try if you're in the area. read more

Ive had a lot of Thai food around the USA since I travel for work and I can strongly say that this is by far the THE BEST PLACE. I had the pad sew ew with beef and it was so fresh and delicious. I ordered food to go. It was very tasty (Kapow Beef + Pad Thai Chicken) but I had to downgrade them one star because I asked twice (to make sure that I was heard) that I did not want pork in my order yet there it was in the Pad Thai! This was unacceptable and I would have downgraded them two stars for it but I decided to be generous because they just opened and haven't worked the problems out yet. Wow. 4.5 stars. I love it when an independent restaurant does the details well. The space is laid out well and has a nice aesthetic touch, well beyond the typical Asian-cuisine strip center restaurant. Thai food is special and so is the service and food here. Both are consistently good. Each night, over half the clientele is Asian, usually a very good sign. I highly recommend. read more

We went for dinner at Mae Ornnit Thai restaurant tonight. It was the soft opening. We ordered the Kapow bomb , the combination of chopped chicken & shrimps & squid & mussels in the spicy basil garlic sauce. And the Laab Kai (Spicy chicken salad). We were happy with the food and they have the spicy tray on side which we can add more spicy :) Tonight they don't have the alcohol yet but they said soon they will have the full bar. Can't wait for that! We ordered the strawberry with Yakut drink one as they recommended and it was delightful. The decor is cool. I like the entrance that they made like the fake window frame with TV behind. So, when they open , we are going back again! The service is great. Can't complain! read more

OMG!!!!!!!!! If only I could've given this place a 10! The best Thai food ever, not to mention the hospitality was incredible! I visit this place 12/8/24 with a few friends while visiting Virginia for a friend birthday celebration, we couldn't choose a better place, I wish they had places like this in NY. When you're visiting the Virginia area and you love thai food this would be the best choice you wouldn't be disappointed. Don't forget to try the lychee ice tea, omggg to kill for!!!! The Tom yum goong soup ordered medium has the flavors of Thai- one of my favorites to try at a Thai restaurant. This could be ordered with chicken if shrimp is not for you. I came to Mae's randomly for lunch and was thoroughly impressed by their lunch special! I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, which comes with a rotating small appetizer, and also the Thai Tea, which was discounted as part of the lunch special! The Pad Thai was delicious, and I liked that it came with red tofu, as not every Thai restaurant includes that. The noodles weren't overly greasy and had just the right amount of sauce. The inside of the restaurant is decorated with bright colors and is very lively. The staff here are also really sweet. I'm giving 4/5 stars instead of 5/5, as I ordered the Mango Sticky Rice to go and was disappointed in the portion size. This was what I was looking forward to the most, and to have received so little of it, I was bummed! Besides that, everything else was great, and I would definitely come back and enjoy another lunch special as well as their other menu items! read more

I get drunken noodles. Their technique for caramelizing the noodles with a light, smoky flavor is fantastic! I have eaten it both in the restaurant and as a take out dish. Delicious! My wife and I enjoyed our meal very much. Big portions, lots of flavor. Must try

If I could give no stars, I would. First, I walked in and was never greeted. I had to ask if I had to sit down, and the guy said pick up or dine in. Third, a family of six came in and got waited on immediately, and I was just sitting there waiting again for about 30 minutes and still no service. Another family of 5 came in, and they got waited on immediately, and I still didn't get any service. I sat there for about 45 minutes in total. Still, no one even acknowledged my presence, I got up and walked out. I will never go to this establishment again. Just because I am not Thai or Oriental doesn't mean you get to disrespect me! Thanks, but no thanks! read more
