I was intrigued by Chick'n Broth when I came across it on Yelp - and the reviews extolling the virtues of their Pho Ga. I came in for a lunch time visit on a weekday. Unfortunately, my experience was much different. Pho Ga is my fave and go to Pho - and so I ordered a bowl of it. When the bowl was delivered to my table - I was surprised at the color of the broth - it was close to "clear." I tasted it before adding anything - and it had very little chicken flavor - and it had an overwhelming flavor of Cilantro. Now I love Cilantro - and I use it a lot in cooking - but this was to much. I did not specify white meat only - which perhaps I should have - as most of the dark pieces of chicken were overly chewy - whereas the white pieces of chicken were very tender. The noodles were very velvety. The plate of aromatics was fresh - but there were no Jalapeño slices on the plate. I added everything to the bowl - which did little for the broth's flavor profile. I also added a good bit of Sriracha sauce to the broth (and individual bites) in an attempt to impart some flavor. I ended up not finishing the bowl as I was disappointed in the whole thing. I went to pay my bill - the gentleman behind the counter asked how my Pho was - and I related to him my opinion of the chicken broth. He nodded and apologized. Paid with Apple Pay. Service was good. This place has the best Phở Gà and Canh Bún in Eden. The Canh Bún was served with rau muống (water spinach), which made it taste very authentic. They also use the proper type of noodles for phở, just like the ones used in Vietnam, which really enhances the overall flavor of the dish. Another nice touch is that they serve complimentary iced tea, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent as well. The ladies working there were very kind, friendly, and accommodating, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. So glad we stumbled on this place in Eden Center. It was on one of the inside hallways and the posted food pictures caught our eye. Overall I had a very positive Uber eats experience with this establishment. I ordered the pork vermicelli which tasted really good, but portions sizes are a bit smaller. They're not as expensive as other Vietnamese restaurants which is also nice. Service is slow though, it took about an hour for food to arrive. It comes with coconut rice which tastes strongly of coconut, so I'd recommend asking for regular rice if you're not a fan of coconut. Might be a hard to find, but I promise that Chick'n Broth is worth it once you get there! My friends and I stopped by this past Saturday evening for a quick dinner. It's spacious with lots of tables and a modern interior. The server was nice and food came out pretty quickly. CHICK'N BROTH PHO - 13.45 There's a variety of different chicken cuts here -- white meat, thigh meat, lungs and gizzards. There were even quail eggs! The broth was light and flavored well with good seasoning other than chicken. The noodles soaked up the broth well and the meat was tender and plentiful. The noodles weren't pho noodles, though, but it was still good. Overall, solid pick for a rainy day. One of my friends got the Chick'n Broth Special Broken Rice Combo which was a huge portion of food with various sides. I tried a bit of the pork and fried tofu cake which were all delicious. Good stuff! I've seen this place on Yelp and on other social media platforms. I just could never figure out where it was. I finally figured out that it was inside Saigon East, which really helped. The interior is nice and clean, and a good amount of seating. I also like that the menu is very simple, which helps the indecisive have limited options to pick from. When seated, they provide you iced tea, which is super refreshing. My family and I picked 2 different types of dishes: the Chick'n Broth Special Broken Rice Combo and the Crispy Fried Golden Chicken on Yellow Rice. Overall, our favorite was the Crispy Fried Golden Chicken on Yellow Rice, since it was like a ga roti but crispier and had a lot of garlic flavor to it, but the combo was still super tasty and flavorful. I think DMV pho is pretty mid, and chicken pho is usually uninteresting. But goddamn Chick'n Broth is the shit. It's in one of the corridors on the main side of Eden Center. They have a small menu but everything is well executed. Heck they even had some pork tacos off the menu that were well spiced. But if you're here, you're here for pho. If you get it basically anywhere else, it's just a lighter chicken broth with some shredded chicken on your rice noodles. But this is the real Vietnamese shit - not just meat, you'll get some organ meats like heart, liver, gizzards. From the broth to noodles everything goes down incredibly clean, but the pièce de résistance is the unfertilized egg - that's how you know you're in a legit Vietnamese joint. Most pho places nowadays will usually be pho bo/beef with a chicken option, maybe a veggie or seafood. But when you got a place with chicken at the forefront, ballsy move that clearly pays off here. I came here after passing the store many times. As others have mentioned this place is new and hidden within the shopping center. I ordered chicken and rice, and as you see the plate is literally a big piece of chicken and some rice. I guess I have to hand it to them for simplicity. The chicken was nice and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I enjoyed eating it and it was also really filling. I was surprised to see how big the chicken leg was, maybe it's just me but it looked much bigger then the ones I usually get at the grocery store. One convenience is you don't actually have to order through a waiter. There's a QR code where you can order food online. We kind of stumbled in here for dinner once our first choice failed and since I have heard of this place from my photographer taking their food photos, I thought why not give it a try. Okay, so food was exceeded my expectations for the most part. The only thing I would say is bland is the cha trung (egg meatloaf) that comes with the com tam special. Everything else on the platter was good. We also ordered the com ga chien gion as well which is also known as com ga roti, the chicken was so full of flavor and SO crispy. It went perfect with the rice. I honestly did not need to dip it in the nuoc cham they brought out. We also ordered goi cuon thit nuong and cha gio. One of my fellow Yelp Elite recommended Chick'n Broth highly and so it was a no-brainer that we check out this place. As he explained, there aren't that many places that do Chicken broth pho given how difficult it is, so the fact that Chick'n Broth does it so well is absolutely stunning. Situated about mid-way through one of the hidden corridors in Eden center, it's a shame Chick'n broth isn't featured more heavily, given how great it is. The first thing that stood out with the pho ga is the fact that the broth is so light yet flavorful. The inclusion of a generous portion of shredded chicken meat, along with fermented eggs and some organs just shows how authentic the broth is. Interestingly enough, this place serves thicker rice noodles as opposed to the thin rice noodles, which TBH I think pairs really well with the soup. On top of that, the spring rolls are somehow both equally crunchy and soft? I don't know how the chef does it but I do know that I am definitely coming back here as soon as I can! read more

I recently went in for a weekday lunch and thoroughly impressed. They only have a handful of menu items which I respect. To me that means they should make it their focus and ingredients should be fresh. It did not disappoint! Everything was perfectly cooked and they didn't skimp. Lots of meat in the cha gio (spring roll) and the pork wasn't bone dry. The nuoc cham was fragrant and not diluted with water like most places. I was more amazed at the service! A Viet uncle immediately brought Jasmine iced tea the moment I sat down and filled it WITHOUT me asking and before I was empty. He did this twice! What in the world The grandma owner/chef was so sweet and she told me they've been here for over a decade and just recently revamped the decor and menu. First time at Chick'n Broth and pleasant surprise. The place rocks modern interior vibes. The chicken pho is so rich and flavorful it elevates comfort food to the next level. We also ordered tender beef which came macaroni and a fried egg. Is the pasta super? Let me put it this way. It's something we used to eat at home or on the streets in the Philippines and for that reason, the macaroni reunites you with flavors you grew up as a child. We had a chance to speak with the owner and she said they have been around for many years (I forgot what the name of the place used to be), but recently rebranded to chickn broth since they wanted to be more modern. I was craving a lighter chicken pho, and saw the ads on Facebook for this place. It intrigued me, a lot of pho places will advertise chicken pho, but actually use beef broth, not chicken, and sometimes I just want a lighter broth. So I came here to try it, I saw the price was higher at $16, and chicken isn't more expensive than beef, it's free-range but that still doesn't make it more expensive than beef. Since I'm not sure what other true pho ga options there are, I wanted to try it and see if it was worth it. First, the broth does pass the test. Whenever I get pho, before I put in basil, lime juice, and bean sprouts, and mix the noodles/meat around, I try a spoonful of the broth. It was tasty, complex, and good. That's where the good part of it stops. They use the wide thicker noodles here, which makes you taste more of the noodles than the broth. They also don't put much chicken at all in the soup. For a $16 bowl, and the fact that chicken is cheaper than beef, you'd expect them to give more, but it's barely any, maybe like 7-8 smaller strips. They also tend to give more noodles than broth, so the ratio is more thick wide noodles, less broth, and even less chicken. At $20 after tax and tip for a pho ga bowl, it's definitely not worth it to me. Kien Giang has a better chicken pho IMO, although I'm not sure whether they use beef or chicken broth. They also do include a few pieces of chicken heart (not liver) and a fertilized egg as someone else mentioned, I ate it but don't feel it added to the pho much. read more

I never care to pay for chicken pho until I see peoples post picture on yelp and they put chicken ovary and liver in it. I was excited to try chicken ovary since I haven't it before and I am sure it a lot of nutrition benefit,. I wish they would however Sautee or grill the chicken liver and heart with flavor instead of just it being bland in the pho but it was nicely cook that it will soft and not over cook. I dip it in the siracha and hoisin sauce and it was yummy. I do like that they put Vietnamese coriander on top if the pho. It give it a nice freshness to the balance to the chicken inside. A very modern looking update to what the restaurant used to look like. Beautiful new build out. Service fast and friendly. My go-to chicken pho for this area. Broth light and flavorful just like a chicken pho should be. Not like other restaurants who just use regular pho broth and throw slices if chicken on there. They also add other parts of the chicken, such as unlaid eggs, adding to the authenticity of avreal chicken pho. The chicken used is free range, which you can clearly tell by the tenderness and texture. Along with the name change and new interior design, the restaurant now serves up many mew dishes all centered around chicken. There were a few dishes on the new menu, which caught my attention. Adding an interesting vietnamese fusion twist. I will definitely be bringing my appetite to give them a try. I highly recommend coming here for a real chicken pho experience. read more
