Pleasantly surprised with the food. Ordered Quick bites (Thatte idli and Coffee) and Podi dosa both tasted good. We were skeptical to try them from a Fremont location experience, but the food here is good.

I was craving for Indian food. I decided to stop by this place to grab some take out. The curry, potatoes, beets, and biryani were very flavorful. However, they were kind of on the spicy side. All the items weren't too greasy. The prices were fairly reasonable.

Good comfort food spice, perfect when the craving hits! Ordered an assortment of dishes from Madras Idli Kadai for a lazy night in. I was generally impressed by the South Indian flavors and would return for some spicy comfort food in the future. We ordered a few different items to try. In order of personal preference, my ranking is: Paratta Kurma: Excellent texture and rich, savory flavor for the vegetable korma. Sambar: A spicy soup that hit the spot on a cold, rainy evening. Kothu Paratha: Solid, but I preferred the other dishes more. For beverages, the Mango Lassi was perfect--it had a nice creamy sweetness that balanced and cooled the spice of the Sambar. The only downside is that the quantity felt a little stingy for the price, but the flavors were genuinely good, which makes it worthwhile when I'm craving that authentic South Indian spice.

MIK Ghee Nalla Karam Dosa

This is a South Indian spot located inside Rosewood Mall in Pleasanton. There's a decent-sized seating area, though it has more of a fast-food vibe. We tried the ghee dosa, 12-piece mini idlis with sambar, and the Madras Nalla Karam dosa. The food was delicious! The dosas were crispy, flavorful, and generously sized. Each dosa came with sambar, garlic tomato chutney, coconut chutney, and peanut chutney. The peanut chutney, however, was a bit of a letdown--it was quite salty and bland. The Madras Nalla Karam dosa had a slow-building heat. It didn't taste spicy at first but gradually added a nice punch. I'd definitely go back to try the Guntur karam dosa next time. Our server was kind and welcoming. Giving it 4 stars mainly because the service could be a bit quicker and more efficient.

Panneer Burji Dosa - served with Coconut, Tomato and Peanut chutneys ($13.95).

Solid South Indian eatery next to Ranch 99 off Rosewood Drive in Pleasanton. I stopped by earlier today with a family member. We were seated right away. I ordered a Panneer Burji Dosa ($13.95), while he opted to try the Mega Tiffin, which included Pongal Upma, Idli, Vada and a Sweet ($14.95). The food came quickly - my dosa was thin and crispy and as wide as a ten gallon hat. The Panneer Burji tucked inside was delicious - just wish there was more of it. The Madras Filter Coffee's ($3.95 each) were excellent and reminded me of some of my favorite coffee houses in Matunga (Mumbai) - especially when we added a spoonful of sugar! Those memorable coffees and the fact that they substituted our Sambars for their thick and tasty chutneys (tomato, peanut and coconut) without any fuss takes this review from 3.5 to 4 stars. Will be back!

Spoiled food.

My recently picked up dosa, uttapam, and idli from Madras Cafe around 8:30 pm. The idli was okay, but both the uttapam and dosa had a bad smell and tasted quite bitter, possibly due to spoiled batter. We contacted the restaurant, and while they acknowledged the issue, their response was just to let the manager know. Overall, it spoiled our dinner, and we won't be returning.

Wow! The food is fantastic. The sambar was HOT, is not watered down, and it actually has so much flavor that it stands out when mixed with the plain idli. I've enjoyed this sambar more than any other place in the area. I'm hoping my meal here was not a one off and it's consistent. It really tasted homemade. I was craving Medu Vada at 9pm and luckily this place was open until 10 on a Saturday. I went with my family who didn't want to eat. I ordered a Idli Vada for myself but the super nice guy working here brought my kids mini idli with ghee and a sweet. They loved it!! I will be returning frequently, now that I know this place matched my flavor palette. Can't wait to try a dosa next time :). Oh! And service was super fast . Win win because I just wanted to be in and out.

I'm always down for some good Indian food, so when we found this dosa spot, we were excited to check it out. Not only is the food a fun deviation from the usual Indian menu, everything was delicious! This humble eatery has the most attentive staff. We were well taken care of from start to finish. Speaking of finish, I highly recommend a hot cup of Masala tea after your meal. It was seriously the best masala tea I've ever had! If you're in the mood for something new and you like Indian cuisine, I highly recommend checking this restaurant.

Tried this place for breakfast yesterday, we went right after they opened and it wasn't crowded, ordered thatte idly and set dosa and their combo Service was quick, surprisingly our food arrived quickly Thatte idly was fluffy and soft, I was surprised by set dosa because set dosa usually comes with veggies as toppings this seemed more like plain dosa. Combo was good

I ordered a 16 oz (large) coffee, but was served a 12 oz. When it was brought to our table, I politely asked about the size since it looked smaller than what I usually get. The barista told me it was 12 oz and mentioned it might just be a different cup, then walked away without really addressing the concern. I checked my receipt and confirmed I was charged for a 16 oz. I went back to the counter and explained that I simply wanted the correct size. Initially, I was told I would need to pay more, which was frustrating. After explaining again, she finally offered to remake it. For clarity, the drink hadn't been touched at all--I returned it exactly as it was. I really like this place and will continue to support it, but I hope the team can improve on order accuracy and customer service, especially when concerns are raised politely. A little more attentiveness and willingness to resolve issues would go a long way.

I ordered the Lucky Charms White Mocha. It was tasty, but definitely a drink I wouldn't be able to order on the regular. I was able to set up my computer and one of the side rooms and get some work done. This place seems to be a very popular place for studying and doing some work. Just a great place in a great area. They have a large lot and there's also plenty of street parking in the area, especially during the day.

Hidden gem alert…read more Stopped by this coffee shop on the first floor of the mall to meet a friend, and WOW--I'm so glad she picked this spot. Cute little spot with a cozy vibe--there's both couch seating and table seating inside, perfect whether you're catching up with a friend or just hanging out solo. That first sip of coffee? Instant obsession. I was hooked. The baristas were also super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. They've got a great selection of pastries and breakfast options too. I ordered the breakfast burrito (comes with egg, cheese and your choice of protein, plus a veggie option), and it did not disappoint--super satisfying and flavorful. For my drink, I went with an iced vanilla latte with oat milk... and let me just say, it was chef's kiss. Smooth, perfectly sweet, and so refreshing. Safe to say I've found a new go-to coffee spot. Macy s had a cafe and it is also closed at time of this Writ. One of the unique tastes here, is it's Chai although known for it's many mixed coffee drinks and flavours having ample enough syrups to enjoy whilst shopping the Mall inside. In San Leandro is an older one but have seen these around over the years alike Tully's and/or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf now left in The City. That major in iced coffee drinks famously. I had a similar experience couple times I went since grand opening last year to, AnaSofia Z.'s I believe it's okay and food odors mix in a higher ceiling and kept even in a 1st floor setting here. By men's macy's doors down towards center court. Kinda pricey for a Breakfast burro but expected for Mall Lease prices increasing due to less vendors currently renting space differences. Traffic is less except on the weekends, they always have enough staff at this location inside but still training and different persons and like the options on the shelf, but don't know how long it's been there, especially loose leaf tea. Cups are unique and tasteful. I will return for the 5th time, next time and will try a different drink. To us the avacado bagel toast and the quesedilla had more value, than burrito pricing as much as the flavors. My accompanier had the Hot Nutty Cow which was unlike other drinks. So kudos DESI for them for that on the nationwide menu. Another good thing is sugar free hot and cold drinks upforth on the menu giving others a chance to enjoy a beverage while others only use a sugar free syrup only change to anything, ALWAYS defaults Vanilla. Seating is usually full, good for them, but we occasionally found out of the door seating chairs to enjoy our food and beverage seated there. Only a 3*5 due to box chai and the tables dirty but I asked someone they came around the corner and cleaned as we appreciated that. Don't have any photos today, but you will see for yourself next time you go to Stoneridge Mall across from Game Stop, that closed and was vacant blank black on our last visit last week. Ume was around the bend but favors bobba tea and their drive thru closed to re-open as Cowboy Coffee this week.

The only way to do this is if you order directly through a cashier or you somehow get their attention before they finish your order.
