CAPE MAY: Madison's Bakery has the "best buns on the beach" and not only that, they also are a full service bakery featuring sticky buns, cakes, cookies, pastries, donuts, cupcakes, cinnamon buns, coffee & specialty drinks, pup cups, and even seasonal dog treats! Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed inside to order and you can enjoy your treats at their outdoor seating, strolling through the picturesque downtown with Victorian architecture, and enjoying ocean views from the promenade/boardwalk and beach (adhering to seasonal rules).

If you are in Cape May you have to get a sticky bun!!! The sticky buns are so yummy! They can be plain or add nuts and/or raisins.it was gooey deliciousness! Cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies and other yummy treats are available. Coffee/tea/specialty drinks too! Seating is limited inside and out but the promenade across the street is the best place to enjoy your goodies. It is a family owned business. Many of the staff are family. They were all super nice!! We stumbled into this shop since we were on a cruise. Glad we did as the staff was friendly. The decor was really cute and hubby really enjoyed the coffee. If we take another cruise this way then I will definitely stop in again.

If I'm not obsessed with this place then I don't know who is. They've got a good selection of teas for the non coffee drinkers. An even larger selection for the coffee folks. And the baked goods, sooo good. So grateful they have gluten free options. I had a GF chocolate chip muffin. It was amazing and now I'm trying to dupe them at home.

The pastries were absolutely delicious. I liked this spot because it's a good grab and go-not many lines. They have cute tables outside to enjoy your breakfast and watch the boardwalk. They also offer coffee and breakfast sandwiches. We had a chocolate croissant which was so good and a blueberry scone. We also split a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on ciabatta bread. The bread was fantastic. The owner was also super nice and offered treats for our dog when we were sitting outside. What a charming Cape May gem!

Very cute bakery that is known for their cinnamon rolls! They are huge! I was a really big fan of the cinnamon roll in the cup because it's layered with custard and topped with whip cream. It's rich but very very good and much easier to travel with than the regular cinnamon roll.

There donuts were so good it had to be my favorite donut place and they had a wide variety of pastries and the cashier was really nice. Also, the store was clean and pretty.

I stumbled upon this bakery because I was looking for funnel cake. Can you believe that there's no funnel cake in all of Cape May?!? Mind blowing! But anyway; I'm glad I discovered it. Madison's is known as the best sticky buns in south jersey. What is a sticky bun you may ask? I would describe it as a sister to a cinnamon roll except, ditch the cinnamon and add caramel. It is absolutely DELICIOUS. The line of the store is out the door starting at 6 AM. If you're lucky to catch them with extras in the afternoon, be sure to grab the buns because they are perfection. I wanted to try the cinnamon rolls also but I didn't get a chance. They are soft, sweet, decadent, and must be eaten warm. If you're eating it cold, you're doing it wrong. This spot is definitely a gem.

Great strawberry sprinkle donuts!!

Came here to try the famous sticky buns...the sticky buns they rave about are more like rubbery buns.

The staff was very friendly but the cake was bad. It was over baked and dried out. I would not recommend cake from here.

Locals and savvy vacationers know to get here before 8 AM during the summer or you're not going to…read moreget what you want. In fact you may not get anything because when they sell out they close. It happened to me a few summers ago until I learned my lesson that some people lined up at 6:30- 7 o'clock in the morning. I take my chances at 8 o'clock but if I'm in the mood for a traditional white cream filled donut I get in line before 7 AM. They are creme doughnuts like the ones you had growing up in the 60s and 70s. Filled. Their corn fritters are to die for. Their sticky buns are very good. They are so good that I told the owner a couple of summers ago that she can't close until I die. LOL.

i made my family get up early to wait on line at this bakery just to judge reagan's opinion of…read moreapple fritters. jk jk but still it was definitely on my mind. the reviews are accurate. you will wait. the week before labor day on a wednesday morning we arrived around 7:30am and still had about a 30 minute wait until we were out the door with our precious box. we got a few fritters, the cinnamon roll, and a few donuts. here is how we rated everything: donuts: 8.5/10 ; fresh and airy, perfect frosting and filling. delicious. fritters: 6/10 ; they were fried too hard for my liking which gave them a semi-crunchy exterior. not enough apple filling but i can definitely see why they are popular even if they are not my cup of tea. inside was chewy with nice ribbons of cinnamon. cinnamon roll: 10/10 ; i would walk through broken glass to eat this for breakfast. i think we got more of the coffee roll style cinnamon roll because it was basically like a yeast donut dough but it was perfectly cinnamoned (word?), light, and sugary from the glaze. i'm clearly still dreaming about it. its not like a chewy buttery cinnabun at all. amazinggg. overall, would i wait again? yes, but send one adult early in the morning to bring them back. leave the family behind since this place is all business.
