This place charges 50 cents on every single card purchase and has no signage or notices. They do this just to steal. They say it's cause it costs money for them for each transaction but it certainly doesn't cost them anywhere near 50 cents but there's no minimum. This is theft. They don't even tell you they just add 50 cents to every purchase. read more

I'm gonna say this right now- the prices are the most expensive in the city (or so I've been told by a local); however, where else are you going to see NATE MCMILLAN gassing up his Escalade? Oh yeah- I couldn't believe my eyes, had a nice little conversation at the pump with him. DO NOT GO HERE!! I got off work and stopped at this Shell for a coconut water and some motor oil. The cashier short changed me after handing him a $10 BILL and didn't offer a receipt. I took 2 steps out the door and thought "this change doesn't seem correct" so I went back and asked about my change, which he INSISTED was correct. Then I asked for a receipt, which he gave me and attempted to explain how he was correct. Here's where it gets shady: The receipt said 'cash tendered $9.00' meaning the cashier intentionally input the incorrect cash amount. It's a manual, non-digital classic cash register so it's IMPOSSIBLE to mess that up. He then claimed that was his receipt and tried to take it back and I said no. After arguing with the cashier for a moment where he straight up refused to give me the dollar he owed me (I irrefutably proved that I was correct), some other customers entered the store and he panicked. He then reached UNDER THE COUNTER (not from the register) and THREW the dollar at me and told me to leave! I asked for his managers phone number and he refused, saying "come tomorrow morning at 9:00". This Shell is in Capitol Hill in the heart of the bar district, so this cashier deals with LOTS of drunk people that trust him to give them the correct change. My guess is that he's scamming money off people he doesn't think are paying attention. He pegged me wrong. DON'T GET SCAMMED! Stay out of this place. read more

I would REALLY like to know why the gas here is priced exorbitantly higher than anywhere else in Seattle? I pulled in because my tank was low, looked up at the cost, and then drove on to another station where the cost was considerably less. It became a game for me to see how much the mark-up was when I'd drive by. Is it the location? Yes, it's location is easy to reach, right there near the arboretum but wow, is it really worth the extra money? I guess the residents of Madison Park do not give one whit about value because they are willing to pay the mark-up rather than ask why. read more

Five stars for the convenience, one star for the price. Living deep in Madison Park, I often find myself needing to stop at Madison Park Shell for gas (karma for letting the tank get so low!). While it is incredibly convenient at the southeast corner of the arboretum and Madison St., the price is ALWAYS 10-20 cents more than the surrounding gas stations. On my drive to work, I go south on 23rd toward I-90 and there are at least three other stations with prices significantly lower than MP Shell. However, you are paying for convenience (plus, it is Madison Park...). Other than the price, there is nothing to complain about. I usually will stop here to fill up a few gallons just to tide me over a bit. read more

This is one of the cleanest gas stations I have ever been to, especially the bathroom! It's also an overall safe area in Madison Park so I don't have to worry. The workers are really nice and they run a U-Haul inside too which is efficient since there aren't that many nearby. read more

Seriously, the highest gas prices in the area. This gas yesterday was 40 cents higher per gallon then woodinville for regular gas!!! AND, they charge an extra dollar at the pump to use your card! Yeah times do change and full service stations are very few and far between. As far as this station goes, it runs very smoothly, pumps are functional and the lot is always clean. Only thing keeping it from a higher rating is the prices. I understand that the petro market is completely nuts and I don't expect prices lower than market, but this station is consistently 20 cents/gallon more expensive than the Shell station across from Trader Joe's on Capitol Hill. Unfortunately it is the most convenient to get to from my house. I very rarely get a full tank here, just enough to get by. read more

Recently, I ordered a U-Haul truck from this store. How convenient since I live nearby! I was able to rent a truck and pick it up without any trouble. All I needed was my driver's license and the card I reserved with. And the staff is friendly, informing me with all that I needed to know. Definitely will come back! read more

This gas station is nice and convenient for where I live (madison park), but is incredibly expensive. Gas buddy has the cheapest regular gas in Seattle today at 2.74 a gallon (Sam's club.) The average gas price in Seattle is 3.12 and nationally 2.75. This station has their regular gas price stuck at 4.29. I thought their sign was broken, but it is real. This is the most expensive gas in Seattle (and the entire state) by 50 cents a gallon! Literally - second place in Seattle on gas buddy is 3.79 a gallon. If you really don't care about money, drive a mile down madison (Shell station on 17th), save 85 cents a gallon, and donate the 7.5-15 bucks you would save per fill up to someone who could use it - not the owner of this station! read more

I was in need of a U-Haul truck looked it up on line and Madison Park Shell was the closest to my location. I signed up on line using the CEO's credit card and got confirmation that it was approved, when I arrived at Madison Park Shell I was greeted buy a young woman who rejected my order because I did not have the Company credit card with me I told her it was confirmed and she still rejected me WOW. I asked to talk to the person in charge she called the owner and handed me the phone this man proceeded with cussing me out with out asking any questions or my name and before I could get a word in told me to get the _ _ _ _ _ out of his store so I left. I realized that I had left my drivers license behind when I went back I was told they did not have it. It was the most unprofessional group of people I have ever dealt with and the owner owes me an apology for his rudeness. read more
