My lord, this place makes the worst outhouses look like the comode at the four seasons! Wow, this place is an experience.........behind the counter are papers and receipts piled about 5 feet high.....and all over the store, there's piles of random stuff..............and, as lynyrd skynyrd best said it, "ooo ooo that smell!" I didn't see them cooking anything, but it sure did smell like someone had left food underneath all of those receipts. Stopped in this morning for coffee; I didn't purchase gas but I did find the inside extremely clean and well lit. I went to purchase trash bags and they didn't carry these, however, the employee at the register was not only polite and friendly, she went out of her way to give me a trash bag from the station's cleaning supplies. I was on my way to work and there had been several minor setbacks this morning and this wonderful lady turned things around with her positive and helpful attitude. Three customers were in line ahead of me and I noticed this employee greeted each one with a smile and followed through with fast and courteous service. Owners...I was in Saturday 9/17 around 9.45am. The prices here are high and I stopped despite this because I was on empty and also in need of the restroom. Never again! The staff insensitive and unhelpful. When I left their building to return to my car, I found gas flooding out of my tank because the auto shut off had not engaged. This has never happened to me (in over 35 years of pumping gas) nor to anyone to whom I have shared this story. The attendant at the time said it was my fault. The manager I spoke with on the following business day said it was my fault. They were unwilling to refund the overage when my credit card company confronted them after I challenged the overage portion through them. What about "the customer is always right?" They merely had to say, "so sorry that happened to you, here is some money back" and I would have been fine and not been here giving them this honest review. I haven't bought gas here for years... his prices are way too high. What everyone else has posted is true. The place is smelly and it's obvious the guy is living in the back. What got my goat is the last time I was in there I bought a pack of smokes. Well he sold me a pack that was supposed to be complimentary, a buy 2 get 1 free. It was even labeled "Not for individual sale". Now I won't call this guy a crook, but instead will let you make your own conclusions. read more

if ambaum shell paid yelp, yelp would hide these ratings like ambaum grocery does. Ambaum grocery, business next to this store is like: The older workers tend to follow you around in store. I only go if it is after hours or in a hurry. Burritos and other items are not kept frozen, once I found one that was mildew. Also, an odd thing, I once went in to get quarters, but was told no; my Caucasian roommate went in after me and was able to get quarters. (I look latino/brown) One of our friends, (looks Afro-american/black) who does not live in this area, just visits; the store will not accept his using his debitcard-only can use cash. NEW OWNERS!!! The new owners came in several months ago and did a great job of cleaning up this Shell station. The property is now clean and cared for and the gas prices are now comparable to Freddy's. This is a great change for our neighborhood! read more

This gas station is under new ownership. Always get my gas here. They have the lowest price for shell gas in south Seattle now. They also offer gas rewards now if you want to take advantage of this to save even more. If you want to save on your next fill up give it a try. I personally won't get my gas anywhere else.
