Before I got work done at Madison Motor Werks, I read all the reviews, and had some concerns from the small number of bad reviews. I was from out of town, and had barely made it into town to my brother-in-law's place with a badly wounded Audi Q7. The local Audi dealership (which has a month+ backlog of work) doesn't service any car older than a few years (!!!), and there aren't many European auto specialists in the area. We found Madison Motor Werks both by a recommendation and on the web, and had the Q7 flat-bed tow-truck delivered to them, and even with the flat bed it barely held together to get there. It took some miracles to get the parts that we needed and restore the vehicle, and Madison Motor Werks delivered. It took longer to find the necessary parts (the OEM parts were unavailable and who knows how long we would have waited for them), and then it took a while to get them there to Mississippi, but once they arrived, the crew did a pretty quick job getting the Q7 put back together and as "good as new" with respect to the repairs. They probably got tired of me calling to check on progress, but they stuck to their price estimates and got it all done, and done well. They obviously take pride in their work, and while nothing about an Audi is inexpensive, they were fair with their pricing. I saw in some of the other reviews comments about "slow service". I have to admit that their hours / days are limited (e.g. closed for the weekends), but I can't begrudge their workers getting weekends off. I would have liked things to get done faster, but they seemed to be diligent during the business hours, and other than actually finding and getting all the necessary parts (which was a real ordeal!), they were pretty close with all of their estimates. Fortunately, I didn't need a loaner, but I can definitely appreciate that lots of other customers would, so maybe this is something they can add at some point. Lastly, I'd say that they always treated me honestly and with kindness/patience, and I do appreciate how rare that is nowadays, so I'm wishing them the best. read more

This was my first time going to this shop & my last time to I have a S550 Mercedes in which it wouldn't start . The good trip Benjamin lied to me on numerous occasions , he charged me $500 dollars for a battery in which they never bout . Then i received another receipt for $400 for a battery. Kept my car on they property for 2 weeks still not running or fixed , beat me outta $2,050 all together including getting towed twice . Shot my bill threw the roof & still not fixed . PLEASE BE ADVISED GOOD PEOPLE DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES TO THIS MECHANIC SHOP BECAUSE YOU WILL REGRET IT IN THE END . I WAS CHARGED A LOTTA MONEY FOR WORK THAT WASN'T PERFORMED ON MY CAR. read more

I have had my vehicle serviced for the same problem three different times. The problem is still not fixed after $3,000 in charges. Now they don't want to attempt to even try to fix the problem. read more

This is a top-notch team of folks! My MINI Cooper broke down in Jackson, MS, on a drive across the country. Seeing as the nearest MINI dealer is hundreds of miles away, I found this shop using Google Maps. Boy, I'm lucky I found them. They run an outstanding shop and they did excellent work. Being stranded in Jackson, they could have sold me on unnecessary services, but they showed me what was wrong and the bare minimum I needed to get my car back on the road quickly. Normally, they take customers by appointment, but they had a cancellation and fit me in on short notice. A quick diagnosis found that one of the points had failed. I had them replace both the points and plugs and they finished the job up rather quickly. I would go well out of my way to use this shop again... though maybe nine hours is a bit too far to drive one-way to get my car serviced. That said, I'd would make them my exclusive shop if I lived anywhere near Jackson. A quality product through and through. Not only was the service of high quality but the staff was friendly and helpful too! I cannot recommend them more highly! read more

Once there , without even being diagnosed I was told that there was nothing they could do for my 2003 Range Rover. After paying over $1,200 for repairs on my Audi TT (replacing 2 axles, among other things), I picked up the car and immediately noticed on the drive home that the steering wheel was about 20 degrees out of alignment. When I called them about it, the manager/owner was defensive and rude. He said there was no way they did anything to cause that problem, then he said they "hear this kind of stuff all the time," and then he compared me to someone who complains the radio is not working after fixing a flat tire. First of all, if they are having customers call back to complain "all the time" that's a pretty big red flag. Secondly, he somehow assumes I would pay over $1,200 for repairs and then try to scam him out of a $75 tire alignment! That's either incompetent management or dishonest - either way, I'll be advising my friends to avoid them. read more

Slow service, hours are not helpful for people who have to be at work early in the morning. They do not have loaner vehicles to accommodate or make up for the fact that they are slow nor care about how they inconvenience you. The owner is a rude ass who has no customer service skills. Two different times they ordered the wrong part and waited till the end of business to let me know that they suck at their job. Then had the nerve to tell me I should not have bought an import. Hey man, you own a speciality auto repair shop you are the one that said you can work on German cars, but apparently you can't, well not easily anyway. If you have money to buy a German car, let someone who cares about you and your car not these people who could not care less about you or you car. They will not treat you well and will over charge you for the inconvenience. read more

I called Madison Motor werks for a tune up estimate. Day one, was told I would receive a call back as he had a family emergency that morning. Day two, the receptionist says she was told to call me back for car specifics but that he would call me with estimate later that day. Third day still no call back so I call. Receptionist places me on hold and tells me he's with a client but had the estimate and will call me back with the estimate. What, are you kidding? Since I've been waiting, he should have already called me. I told her nevermind. If a company makes you wait that long and still puts you off, no way any money should be spent with them. I called and spoke with Robert at Madison Motor Werks, explained to him that my Mom is a senior citizen and on a fixed income but having problems with her transmission on her VW Beetle. He said that I could pay $98 and they would give me a "head to toe" look at the vehicle and provide us with a quote and list of the issues. They gave my Mom a list but asked her to see if some of it had been done (maintenance) at Volkswagen? Well, if you are looking at it and giving her a list of what you found wrong, why would you put something that just was repaired or are you only providing us with a list of regular maintenance, which I could look in her book to get? Its been over a month now and they will not send a quote on repairing the valve or transmission problem. My Mom called them and Robert was very rude to her, over talked while she was asking questions and said "I HEAR YOU" rudely. Now, again, my Mom is almost 70 and asking if she could get the quote to get her car repaired because why would she pay the $98 for a piece of paper that doesn't give her a quote on repairs. He promised to give me this and has my email, phone, fax, and still has not responded to my emails. I think this is extremely unprofessional and rude to treat someone, especially a senior citizen, who is extremely sweet, this way. That to me is the lowest to take someone older and a female to boot for a ride and take her hard earned money, which again is on a FIXED INCOME, heart patient, diabetic, etc. and not even respond back. I'm reporting to BBB as well because people shouldn't be in business if they don't want to repair vehicles and take people's money to give a quote and never give it!!! read more

I have been taking my BMW X3 for many years but my recent experience the past two oil changes has been terrible. The people were extremely rude. My experience was similar to another reviewer when I asked them about problems that arose immediately after leaving their service location they were unprofessional and not at all concerned, instead were defensive. My check engine light came on and upon my immediate return I was rudely told I would have to pay a $100+ fee to see whta was the problem on my car that just left being serviced there. They spent maybe five minutes with my car before they came out and said it was fine and the light was off. No clear explanation was given other than I was told that can happen randomly. (The only time it "randomly" happened was following one of their oil changes). Also, following another oil change the car started making a rattling sound that it did not make when I originally brought it to the service station. When I spoke to them about it they said it was nothing they did without even checking it and that my car was old and had problems. I was also told they are not a quick lube place. (Keep in mind I called ahead of time to make sure they could change my oil and I dropped it off the night before so that they could have ample time. They had my car more than 8 hours. Obviously I didn't think it was a quick lube but just wanted them to do an oil change which we were made to seem like that is beneath them to only do an oil change). After the owner was unconcerned with my complaints or my displeasure with the employees rude attitude we were told our business is not needed. read more
