    My family visiting me.
    Mary B.

From September 26-October 5 I was in this great rehab facility. When I first got there I was so impressed at how beautiful the place is. All the nurses were so nice and attentive. I need to acknowledge a few of the nurses who went out of their way to take care of me Dash Jessica Lorraine Resha Kimberly and I know that there was more but I can't remember them. From what I understand that place used to be called Terracina Post Acute and it didn't really have good reviews but since they changed to Madison Grove they have improved immensely.

    Stains on walls

If I can give this place a zero, I would. The staff is great but this facility is disgusting. Patience are out in the hallway throwing up, sickly and unattended. It's loud in every hallway, some of the rooms play loud music it also seems like they're over staffed but no one is doing anything. (If that makes sense) This facility is ridiculously outdated, abandoned, dirty , NO AC and it's not sanitary at all! Looks like the walls and floors are ready to tumble to pieces. The beds are more than 50 years old and do not function properly. The pictures on their website are very deceiving! They only show the nice part of the building. Anywhere else is better than this place! Fight for your loved ones because they deserve the best care as they recover! We will be taking my sister out of here asap!

Terracina is not perfect but from my experience working in different facilities, each has it's pros and cons. I've seen great improvements in the last 5 years that I have been working here as a therapist. Thought about working for another facility 3 years ago but I saw a bright future for Terracina when they started renovating the building. I love our rehab team here and we take pride in what we do. I often get asked what Occupational Therapy is and my answer is always simple, my profession aims to help you improve your quality of life. It may look like it's all exercises, dressing and walking when it comes to rehab but our team has a mix of characters and personalities that help our residents engage in therapy in a pleasing and enjoyable way. A simple conversation goes a long way specially in geriatric population and our team greatly values that. The best part of my job is our ability to touch our residents' lives and knowing that we're making a difference. There's nothing more rewarding for me than having patients come back to visit us and tell how our team has helped improve their lives after rehab. That's what keeps me fired up and going. We are well equipped to cater most rehab cases and when paired with our team's skill set and personalities, our gym is often referred to as the Disneyland of Terracina. I'm Chris and you are more than welcome to ask for me at Terracina if you want to know more about our rehab team. "Lets go change lives" is our rehab team's quote when we start our shift and we hope that you'll give us a chance to help your loved ones change their life.

I was mistreated humiliated berated spoken to in such a condescending way in a room full of people…read more As a patient being sent there by my doctor why do I have to prove my injuries at this facility not once but twice. The first time I was very irritated at the line of questioning (this short white women) kept asking about my injury and how do I know that what's wrong it felt like she didn't believe my injury was true and continued to question it. I told her I wanted to leave she then asked if I wanted her to message or put any heat or ice I told her no and I left. That felt secondary to the questioning as if she was trying to savage the visit fast forward to this morning, yesterday my MD was asking about my pain as I pointed it out, he stated yes it's your tore meniscus "your going to have pain there" now getting to today's appointment I went in making sure I let the trainer know I saw my Dr yesterday and just reiterated the injury and what the Dr said. In my mind I am thinking they would critique my workout and therapy, as I finish the exercise he instructed me to sit on the message bed, I sat on the side of the bed then about 5 min later this physical Therapist (Alex Vara) comes over taps on the bed pointing and says sit here at on the end then he proceeds to pull up a rolling chair close no smile no greeting then says " so what's going on here" so I'm looking at him and I'm confused I say I don't understand what you mean he says you tell me, I said tell you what? He says when you got here no one knew why you were here, when did you get this diagnose I'm still confused and I said I've only reiterated what my Dr said yesterday then he says you said you fell, yes I've fallen twice since I've started here but my injury has been the same he's telling me hasn't seen nothing on your paperwork or MRI I don't know what you mean I don't know where this is coming from he's not offering any therapy he siting in my face questioning me about my injury then I say what with this 3rd and 4th degree questioning again he says you tell me you seem to have all the answers I didn't see this on your MRI I said well I've had two at this point again there are at least 10 people in at least room I felt extremely embarrassed and uncomfortable I said I'm telling you what my dr said. I told him thank you I'm leaving I immediate went to the front desk to ask for a manager no one was available, I wrote them a bad review on their office questionnaire and google I get a call back he wasn't concerned with my experience there the owner called because I said I encounter systemic racism. This has been my experience there... WHY DO BLACK PEOPLE HAVE to EXPLAIN THEIR PAIN THEIR INJURY over and over again to get the care we deserve and need. This has been my experience I was berated spoke down too having to defend my diagnose to a so call professionals who has my paperwork on file. I won't take back what I said it's the truth it happened to me. I know racism when I see it and feel it. I was singled out. The owner kept saying he's been in business 23 years and sees all races and ethnicity's that doesn't mean it didn't happen and doesn't happen in his facility/business. I deserve respect and quality care. I won't be back there EVER.
