Careless, Lazy Front Office Staff Lost You (Another) Patient Referred by Kaiser. Had a consultation with a surgeon who was OK, but nothing special. Given a business card to call 'Stephanie' to schedule surgery. Called and left VM and the call was never returned. NEVER! Later, called to speak with someone to schedule surgery and they never picked up the phone. 'You are number 1 in the queue...' Nope, no one picked up. EVER! That did it. I'm done. read more

There are way too many moving parts and not enough communication. Of the seven or eight appointments that I have had to have there leading up to my knee replacement and postop at least 4 to 5 of them ran almost an hour late. I saw different nurses two different PAs and my orthopedic surgeon who don't seem to communicate well with each other. During a pre-op appointment, I was asked a number of questions about my surgery, including do I have a metal allergy. I stated I was allergic to nickel. (The hospital where the surgery also asked me a bunch of questions where I stated that I was allergic to nickel) When the doctor came in to see me in the morning of my surgery. He asked me again, and I stated that I'm allergic to nickel. It wasn't on the chart anywhere and my surgery was delayed because they had to get a different knee replacement from somewhere else. During the appointment where I scheduled my surgery, I was told that my prescriptions for after the surgery would be called in ahead of time so that I could pick them up early. This was not done. The day before my surgery I called my pharmacy to see if it had been called in yet and it had not. I called arrowhead orthopedics and it is impossible to speak to a human so I ended up leaving a message. My prescription was never called in. The day of my surgery I was not allowed to be released from hospital until they knew I had prescriptions. They finally reached my doctor at 9:30 at night to call in the prescription and my husband had to pick it up at 1 o'clock in the morning in a bad area of town. During the appointment where my surgery was scheduled and my pre-op appointment, I was asked if I had a walker at home. I stated that I did not, and was told that they would order one for me. This was also not done and I was not allowed to leave the hospital until I secured a walker. Thankfully, the hospital physiotherapist worked with a case manager who spent two hours on the phone with my insurance company to get me a walker. I was finally able to leave the hospital at almost midnight (had everything been taken care of I would've been gone by three or four. At home, I was not given any postop instructions from my doctors office. I didn't know what to do about the stocking on my leg or whether I could shower or anything. No instructions were sent home. Just some from the hospital. I had no postop scheduled or physiotherapy scheduled. I was told that I should begin physiotherapy 3 to 4 days after surgery, I wasn't able to start until eight days after surgery because arrowhead orthopedic staff did not get that taken care of, and I didn't even know where I was going or who to call. With messages in the Healow app, I was able to find out that my postop appointment was scheduled for June 30 at 10:40 AM. I went to that appointment and was told that it wasn't in the calendar and never had been and that my actual appointment was two days later. I checked my Healow app calendar history and indeed it was there, but got canceled I guess. And it said 1020 instead of 1040. Staff at the counter, stated that she would check with the PA to see if he could fit me in his schedule this morning, and she came back to me and he was able to fit me in. Thankfully, they took me back quite quickly, so that was quite impressive. When I said to him, thank you for fitting me in, he had no idea what I was talking about. Between seeing my doctor's nurse, two different physician assistants and never being able to speak with a human being because of their automated phone messaging service. It is an incredibly frustrating experience. I understand that my orthopedic surgeon is very busy and it makes sense for him not to take every appointment and have his physician assistant do that, but they need a much better system of communication . They use the Healow app, but even the Healow app isn't great because no matter how many times I try to add it as another account on my Healow I have to sign in every time. In the end, the surgery itself went very well, so as far as quality of service and results I anticipate a full recovery and I'm quite happy with my knee replacement so far. I have spoken with others who have had the same doctor and they have all been very happy with his work. Arrowhead orthopedics just seems a little bit too big for its riches and doesn't have good communication in place between the departments and staff. I'm not sure that I will go back for my second knee replacement. This experience right now is a little too fresh. read more

Gave them another chance, even though they canceled my appointment that was made two months in advance the first time. Still keeping this as a one star. I finally made it into the office, making that appointment also took about a month to get in. My appointment was at 10 o'clock. It seems that there was two other patients with a 10 o'clock appointment. Who schedules three patients at the same time? No big deal, I sat down and waited. They collected my co-pay, etc. The two other patients were called back, I was called back at 10:40. Sat in a room until 11:15 when i heard the doctor entering the room next to me to see the first patient of the 2 he called back before me. I know because the patient had a walker with a distinct sound, and i heard it in the room next to me. So that meant he still had to see the second patient prior to seeing me, probably would've been closer to noon by the time I was seen, and decided that was long enough. My appointment was at 10am, not 11:15, not even at 11. Will not be giving a 3rd chance. read more

I do not recommend seeing Dr. David Woods at the Redlands office due to over booking patients. I personally had an appointment at the Redlands office for 9:30 on 4/29/2026. Checked in at 9:00 am for a 9:30 appointment and waited for over an hour to see him. Finally got to talk to him and when I brought up about the long wait he just brush me off. My husband had an appointment with Dr. Wong on 4/2/26. We were taken back fairly quickly but that was the extent of the positive experience. We waited 35 minutes in the room. Just as I opened the door to ask the staff when my husband would be seen, Dr. Wong was standing outside the door. I had let him know I was just going to see when my husband would be seen since we had been waiting 30 minutes. His response was "Okay, well I'm here". The minute he stepped into the room you could sense the tension. He briefly examined my husband and discussed the status of his care. Dr. Wong then let us know that if we were not happy with the care, we can seek elsewhere for another provider's care. He proceeded to say that he could tell my husband was not happy and even accused him of being rude. I asked was his assumption based on today's visit or other visits from the past and he brushed it off and kept on saying my husband was rude. My husband then spoke up and called Dr. Wong out on how he was rude to me when he replied "okay, well I'm here" and once again Dr. Wong tried to turn the blame around. I was shocked by the interaction of what is supposed to be a healthcare provider. No sense of empathy and poor patient care. I cannot say much about the other providers, but Dr. Wong was arrogant and completely unprofessional. Wrong line of business for him. We will be transferring care to seek better treatment. read more

Today I had an appointment to go over MRI results. My MRI was in August 31st, 2.5 months ago and I'm just finally getting into to see Dr. Zachary Radley to go over my results. My appointment was at 11am. I did the online check in at 9am. I drove all the way to the Redlands office from Beaumont. When I went to the front desk to check, the receptionist told me that the doctor was running HOURS behind, and that there were 8 patients waiting ahead of me. I understand emergencies happen and things get behind. But what I do not understand, is why the front desk doesn't call the appointments to inform them that their appointment is hours behind so we can choose to reschedule!? Especially if the offer an online check in! I wasted an hour of my time driving back and forth plus gas money, for nothing. They should call and let us know in situations like this! It's very unprofessional! The front desk receptionist was neither apologetic or sympathetic. She was borderline rude and obviously didn't care about people being inconvenienced or wasting their time. I asked her if I could just do a phone appointment and she said no. I asked her if I could see a doctor in Beaumont instead so I didn't have to drive as far. She said no. She just rescheduled me for December. So it will be 3.5 months since my MRI before I get to see my results. Ridiculous. read more

The office and phone answering staff are extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. My mother tried for hours on the phone to make an appointment only to be met with her calls being hung up, never answered, and even had multiple times where the calls got answered but all that could be heard was women laughing and giggling. The phone was on speaker and I heard everything so do not believe that this is some lie made up by an overdramatic person. This was not a regular "there were too many calls" issue because the automated system tells you what place in the queue you are, and she would repeatedly get spot #1 or #2. We tried calling a different extension and got connected with someone immediately, but apparently their supervisor to report what happened was unavailable. If you ever have a similar experience, make sure to record the calls on your end as well because from the age of these reviews, it does not seem like any changes or repercussions are being carried out. read more

We had an employee that was training, and even with her training, it was a wonderful experience! I love my surgeon and the PA. The people there have been extraordinarily helpful and very nice. However, nobody told me I was supposed to take my estrogen patch off one month prior to surgery! Now everybody's all mad at me because I didn't read their minds and take off my estrogen patch 30 days before my surgery! If they had bothered to tell me, I certainly would have! I am extraordinarily disappointed with the coordinating staff and people who are supposed to get these messages across to those of us who are preparing for surgery! There is no excuse for this. This is a simple thing and could've easily been done if somebody had not dropped the ball. Communication is really important! Little things like this contribute to complications and bad outcomes in the end. This needs to be addressed by the staff and changed. read more

When you are in excruciating pain and have already endured for weeks or months, it is not reasonable to expect the prospective patient to wait and endure another 3 months for an appointment! And oh, by-the-way, the Doctor will not treat you unless you have completed physical therapy (10 sessions). -- At two PT sessions a week, that's another 5 weeks delay! But so what, they are not in pain and they clearly do not care. Not their problem. If they are not able to timely provide treatment, they should provide a list of other providers. Our experience with Dr. Oda has been extremely disappointing. He performed hip surgery on my mom twice -- once about two years ago and again recently. After the first surgery, we noticed concerning changes in her behavior, including aggression and hallucinations. At the time, we trusted Dr. Oda's reassurance that the surgery went well and didn't consider a possible connection. Now, after her second surgery, the same troubling symptoms have returned. I reached out to Dr. Oda's office for help, but instead of taking any responsibility or investigating further, they repeated the same line: "The surgery went well" and pushed us off to her primary doctor without offering real support. When my mom physically went to Dr. Oda's office seeking clarification, he didn't even come out to see her in person. Despite there being only one person in the lobby, he wouldn't give her even 10 minutes of his time. It felt dismissive, uncaring, and completely unprofessional. There's zero accountability, zero genuine concern, and absolutely no follow-through after surgery. We trusted Dr. Oda with my mom's health, and he let us down twice. I would not recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor who actually cares about their patients after the operation is over. read more

I broke a toe the last week of July. I appreciated that arrowhead was able to get me a stat appointment and I was seen the following week. During the appointment I was told by the doctor that I needed to be seen again in 5-6 weeks for a follow up. They didn't schedule an appointment that day and, after a few weeks, I decided to try to reach them to schedule a follow up. Long story short, the only way I could reach anyone was to send them a message. Rather than calling me to schedule an appointment, I received a message back the following day. They scheduled an appointment for me for the same day for only two hours after they sent me the message. As I work full time and have 3 children, I wasn't able to drop everything to make an appointment almost 30 minutes away, but this time they did provide a phone number to call if I needed to cancel or reschedule. So I went ahead and called. The woman on the phone was thoroughly unhelpful and obviously put out that I was requesting to reschedule. She claimed that the earliest appointment she could get me was in October. By that time, the toe will be completely healed. I was told that I needed to come back in at 5-6 weeks to be sure that it's healing properly. This doesn't seem like proper patient care to me. The woman on the phone was completely unapologetic and had no other solutions for me. I currently have a call into my primary to see if they can refer me to another orthopedist. It's unfortunate that offices like these are willing to see a patient initially, but don't take the time to properly address follow up care. read more

It doesn't matter which office I visit him at my experience is always productive. I receive good feedback from him and I will refer him for those that really need his expert services. I recommend the PT Department. The physical therapists are not only personable but know their craft well. Not too happy with the front office staff downstairs. They are generally inconsiderate or personable, don't wear their IDs and would rather you go upstairs for your appointment scheduling although I was told b4 that the appointments are made downstairs because there isn't always someone upstairs. A particular person also didn't listen to me x 2. Otherwise what really matters is the relationship with your therapist and their expertise . Right now, things are not looking good. My 95-year-old mother had an appointment with the hip specialist Dr Chan. Unfortunately, the young lady at the front desk did not fully process her information. After waiting for nearly an hour, I inquired with another receptionist and discovered that my mother had been unfairly overlooked. It's disappointing to see how some of the younger generation can be so careless and indifferent. I was frustrated with Dr. Patton, a foot specialist; due to certain details before and during my appointment. Today I experienced my 1st physical therapy appointment and realized in a more factual basis how Dr Patton expressed his observations based on my 10-12 minute appointment... he did me well by expressing my needs effectively. My 1st appointment with physical therapy specialist Ken he's like a "tough coach" and any athlete appreciates a skilled/knowledgeable specialist who is serious about improving a patient; then I discovered they have a heated therapeutic swimming pool and this discovery was awesome... 90 degrees is helpful when a focus is effective physical therapy for injury recovery... looking forward to updates with preferably more positive improvements!!! read more

Not a fan at the moment. I completely understand how much things have changed due to Covid and I appreciate the extra measures that medical facilities are taking to protect people. With that being said...there needs to be a system in place to update patients loved ones throughout the process. I was not able to enter the building with my mother to check in for her back surgery. She came back out to tell me that they had my information and would reach out to me. Well 2 hours and 15 minutes later I know nothing. Idk if the surgery started on time or anything. Just seems like there should/could at least be an automate text update and things progress. Instead I'm sitting in the car parked to other loved ones who are also clueless. read more
