My appointment with Dr. Donaldson was scheduled for 9 a.m. He entered the office between 10:37 and 10:42 a.m. At that time, I was in the process of involuntarily committing a client who was considered a danger to themselves and others. When Dr. Donaldson entered, he didn't speak or introduce himself. Instead, he reached out and attempted to disconnect the urgent call I was wrapping up. Rather than continuing with the appointment--one I had been waiting over six months for--he left without seeing me. Junge, Dr. Donaldson's found this to be exceedingly entertaining, or that is what I assumed by his smile and laughter. ***Edited to add:*** Against my better judgment, I allowed Junge to participate in my care today with Dr. Donaldson, despite explicitly informing him beforehand that I do not participate in any educational activities involving bringing others into the session. Junge either lacked awareness or disregarded my boundaries, which is concerning given his stated pursuit of a fellowship following clinical practice--yet he showed no regard for the importance of cultural sensitivity or patient autonomy. His conduct throughout the interaction was unprofessional, characterized by condescension, dismissiveness, and language that suggests underlying racial bias. His behavior was less respectful than expected from a healthcare provider and reflected prejudice rooted in preconceived notions rather than clinical judgment. Notably, Junge labeled me as "combative" based on subjective impressions, revealing a reliance on stereotypes and a failure to understand or respect my concerns. This unprofessional assessment unduly influenced the supervising physician, who accepted these biased characterizations without scrutiny, thus perpetuating unjust and unequal treatment. Additionally, Junge blatantly ignored my clear statement that I did not want to participate in any educational efforts by bringing others into the appointment, demonstrating a lack of respect for my autonomy and boundaries. Such behavior highlights a problematic attitude toward patient rights and diversity. To address these serious issues, Junge would benefit immensely from targeted implicit bias training and cultural competency courses designed to improve interactions with patients of diverse backgrounds. These interventions are crucial to fostering equitable, respectful, and culturally sensitive healthcare practices, and to preventing future instances of discriminatory behavior. read more

The physicians & PA are great! But Physical Therapy there is awful since Barry & Steve left. They really strived to help optimize recovery with various modalities besides exercise. Now there is only 1 person who walks around with the computer doing his note while telling patients what exercises to do. Unfortunately I've been told that the therapists at Outpatient Rehab at East Campus don't do much either. Very disappointing for a Loma Linda facility. read more

I am so conflicted with my rating! I want to give the Surgeon, Dr. Roberts and medical assistant a 5+ star but their office staff is absolutely terrible! I wish I could do a review separately because the office staff alone would get a 1 star from me. The sad thing is, I work at Loma linda Medical Center. I know what the mission at LLU is and how important customer service is. The office staff has absolutely failed. My husband was the patient and even he acknowledged the staff were terrible. First of all, the front desk was not friendly and they should've given us an approximate wait time. Communicating is key and they did not do it well. We waited in the lobby past our appt time. The medical assistant and Dr. Robert's were very courteous, patient and communicated very well. They both apologized for the wait time. After the appt, I went up to the back counter where the nursing staff or office staff were. I asked for the MRI disk that I brought in along with the paper that was attached to it. I pointed to the paper. It irked the lady at the desk. She picked up the paper next to it, turned it over and slammed it on the counter. I'm assuming she didn't want me to look at someone else's paper due to HIPAA. Seriously though, that was very unnecessary. If she was so concerned about HIPAA violations, she should've had all papers turned over to begin with! She had papers everywhere and yes anyone can see them. Anyway, doctor was very nice. This is a review for my Mom's knee replacement surgery she wrote: I was suffering from degenerative knee joint pain for several years and suddenly was unable to walk. I'm 82 years old with a low pain tolerance. After getting X-rays and MRI, Dr. Donaldson told me my options were surgery or wheelchair. Given the options I was distressed and apprehensive to get surgery. However, my friend had knee surgery done by Dr. Donaldson and had highly recommended me to get it done. Encouraged by family and friends I decided to go with surgery. Dr. Donaldson had a meticulously laid out plan from pre-op to post-op. The day of procedure went smoothly from the moment I entered the hospital. After surgery I went to physical therapy at Inland Empire PT. The team there is well prepared and provided excellent care. I followed Dr. Donaldson's post-op instructions for 2 months. I am now able to walk without a cane or any other assistance. If you have any fear of surgery, consider seeing Dr. Donaldson and his caring staff, he has become my hero ortho surgeon. read more

I was referred to Dr. Gregorius after I broke my ankle earlier this year. Before I was referred, the physician's assistant reassured me that the break was not that bad and that, most likely, I wouldn't have to have surgery because nothing looked displaced. First of all, when I got to his office, I spent 30 minutes waiting in the waiting room and another 30 in the back--ridiculous. When I was finally seen, I was promptly told by Dr. Gregorius' assistant, that I would probably need surgery. Even then, she told me that there were pros and cons to the surgery, and given that i wouldn't be able to get scheduled for another week, it might not even be best given that bone begins healing at the three week mark and I was already a week and a half out from the injury. When Dr. Gregorius came in, I was balling. I explained that, although I have good insurance, I'm a broke grad student who doesn't get paid all summer and that I had a plan to visit my ailing father in the next couple of weeks. He was really reassuring, but insisted that if I didn't have surgery I would DEFINITELY have problems with my ankle for the rest of my life, saying he could already see arthritis developing in the x-ray. He told me that the bone was too displaced, and he made a really big fuss about the fact that I needed surgery ASAP. But he had a nice bedside manner and taught me to use my crutches better, which I really appreciated. I went home feeling dejected but reassured, thankful that if I had to have surgery it would at least be with someone who had compassion and kindness. However, as I recounted my experience to a friend and fellow grad student, she looked at me surprised and asked my doctor's name. It turned out that the year before she had been referred to the same doctor for a knee injury and he had also insisted that she needed surgery in the next week. Because she felt pressured, she decided to get a second opinion from another dr. The doctor told her that she didn't,in fact, need surgery and instead recommended a knee brace and physical therapy. Hearing the story, I sought a second opinion, and lo and behold, I was told by another doctor that the displacement in my injury wasn't notable, and I didn't need surgery. He was very graceful about it and said that it was just a "different opinion," but obviously I was a bit upset with my experience at Empire where I had specifically asked if there were any other options besides surgery. I was given a cast for 7 weeks, and then sent to physical therapy for six. Now, I'm almost 5 months out and feel as good as new without surgery. I have full range of motion. I can climb up and down steps. I've gone dancing, climbed up and down sketchy ladders, and I've had minimal pain throughout the whole experience (without a single dose of pain meds either). I waited to post this review in the event that the second doctor was wrong and I had any major complications, but alas, I'm just fine. As per all the positive reviews, I'm sure Dr. Gregorius is a great surgeon, but that he might have performed unnecessary surgery on me(and another woman!) is scary and frustrating. TLDR: if this doctor rushes you to get surgery that you feel like you might not need, get a second opinion. read more

Dr. Gregarious. If it wasn't for him, I would have chosen an insurance plan with less of a monthly premium. I don't want to have to try to get referrals, make sure that Empire Orthopedic is included in my plan etc. The freedom to directly make an appointment to consult with a doctor who knows what he is doing is worth it. I am currently doing the PRP injections for my knees and I am happy with it. 4/26 was my 3rd injection. Jan 2nd 2013, Dr Gregorious did the meniscus surgery for me. The next day at the physical therapist appointment, she was extremely impressed because there was hardly any swelling. Sat the 27th I was jogging at the beach. I had met someone who had also had the same surgery a few months before me. Not only was she still having difficulty walking, she had paid Orange County prices. Ouch! I've had a lot of issues with my knee and it's been ongoing and getting worse over the last 4 years. After talking with some people and looking at reviews, Dr. Gregorius seemed like a good option for a 2nd opinion. I never got to see him. They didn't take my insurance, which I knew was likely, but they then wouldn't accept me as a patient when I offered to pay for my visit in cash. I wasn't asking to be billed, I was ready to pay with credit card in hand on the spot. But they said they couldn't do that? In fairness, the receptionists were friendly, and Dr. Gregorius may be a great doctor, but I never got to see him and I'm still using a cane to get around with no immediate hope for improvement. read more

The office staff and scheduling is an absolute joke. Waited 4 hours for my wife to be seen a month ago and finally left when we were told about an hour and a half still. This was at 530pm for a 130appt. And they thought they were going to charge another copay upon the follow up visit. And here we are again an hour past the appt time and no doc in sight. Why the hell schedule appts if your just back logging the day. People have other appts, jobs, kids to drop and pickup. I understand emergencies come up the doctor might be late. But this is every time we set foot in this office. And the staff are all either clueless and just say I'm not sure why, or they are rude and come at you like your in the wrong for questioning why it's been 2 hours and no doctor..... read more

Lost my use of my shoulder after surgeries and Dr could care less. He cared more about money and insurance. Now that I am permanently damaged he has nothing to offer me. Thank you for nothing. The Dr Gregarious was caring and very informative however because of his office staff, I will be going to another reputable doctor to perform my hip surgery. Just trying to deal with the girl taking care of my authorization turned me off completely to this practice. After a bad break in my leg, I had extensive nerve damage and was told by a couple of different doctors that I would need major surgery and probably would have to use a walking device to help lift my foot because I would have, "drop-foot" for the rest of my life. I met up with Dr. Gregorious, who it turns out has an active surfing / kiteboarding life just me. He completely understood why the situation was so devastating for me. He performed a tight-rope surgery and set me up with an awesome physical therapist. He was extremely professional and today I have no pain and walk 100% normal with no devices needed. Dr. Donaldson came highly recommended and his reputation is impeccable. This rating is for his office staff and the way this business is run. First my spouse had a total knee replacement. There's a machine that was suppose to be delivered the day before surgery that was never delivered. We're post op day 18, this machine is very important to keep his knee from getting stiff. 4 times we've tried contacted the office and still no machine. They also gave us an ice machine with an attachment for a shoulder. We had to order the correct attachment on Amazon. Now physical therapy, not quite sure if it's this office or the PT office but nobody can seem to get authorization with two lifetime medical plans available. Most of all nobody cares. The post op care has been ZERO stars. He saw the surgeon for 2 minutes right before surgery and nothing else before or after. Just the PA handles everything. Again this surgeon has an impeccable reputation and he was very nice. I'm praying his surgical ability can compensate for the horrible post op care. I have a feeling my spouse will be permanently walking much worse than he did before surgery due to a lack of post op care. His bad knee was WAY better than his new knee. He's had two other surgeries at this office and they were fantastic. He's had two back surgeries at LLUMC prior and both fantastic. I expected fantastic with this knee replacement since this doctors reputation is so stellar and LLUMC has never disappointed. I do believe it's the office staff that dropped the ball. We were very happy with the east campus care the day of surgery and the post op care in the hospital. When we got home the same day, everything went downhill in a quick spiral. Wish I never ever encouraged him to get this knee done. His worn out knee was 100% better than this post op care. read more

I brought my 1 year old daughter for an ultrasound today and I was afraid she would not cooperate. I showed up and the ladies in the front office were really nice. We did not have to wait long to get called back by Bianca she was the lady who would perform the ultrasound. Wow talk about professionalism and an amazing bed side manner. My Mom had her shoulder repaired by Dr Gregorius and her knee replaced by Dr Donaldson. Both were a wonderful success!! Dr Gregorius also fused her ankle. Now she can walk! Before these terrific Doctors worked their magic, I often had to push her in a wheel chair or find her cane, she also used a walker. The pain she endured was severe. I can tell you she is a new woman! She has been working out to keep all her parts in top shape. If you need anything repaired, replaced or fused these are the men you want doing the work!! I had shoulder surgery by Dr Gregorius, he did an OUTSTANDING JOB!!!!

In June of 2014 I not only broke my ankle, I demolished it in a roller derby accident. Dr Gregorius and his staff gave me the best care. They absolutely treated me like family. Dr. Gregorius took his time with me and explained my fracture in detail and we created a plan for surgery and recovery to get me back on skates. My surgery was performed right downstairs in the surgery center and I went through physical therapy through Empire as well. It was so convenient to have everything in the same building! I have to say that my ankle feels stronger now than ever. I was able to return to full contact skating in 6 months and have no pain. I often joke that my broken ankle is now my better ankle. I would (and often do) recommend Dr. Gregorius and the entire Empire Ortho staff to anyone that needs an Orthopedic consult or physical therapy. They were all wonderful. They didn't confirm my insurance policy when I gave them my information over the phone and tried to do it when I got there.
