It can be difficult to find a place where you feel truly confident leaving someone you love, but the Palm Center has given us that peace of mind. The facility is clean and well-maintained, the food is very good, and there are always plenty of nurses available. What really stands out is how quickly they respond -- whenever the call button is pressed, someone always comes right away. You can tell they genuinely care about their residents. Because of their kindness, professionalism, and the level of comfort they provide to both residents and families, I feel they truly deserve a full five-star rating.

This Is Not a Safe or Supportive Sober Living -- Please Read Before You Move In…read more I would give zero stars if I could. This was one of the most disheartening and destabilizing experiences I've had in early sobriety. From the moment I arrived, the owner was unprofessional and disorganized. She kept falling back asleep while I was signing the intake paperwork -- which, by the way, is packed with overreaching and unreasonable rules that primarily benefit her, not the residents. She works as a drink girl at a casino, surrounded by alcohol nightly, and yet runs a "sober" living home. That in itself speaks volumes. There is no structure, no accountability, and no genuine support for recovery. Drug testing is only done on the first day -- not regularly, and there is no requirement to prove you're attending meetings. She claims there are in-house meetings every Sunday, but later dismisses that promise saying, "It's too hard." You're expected to clean her house daily -- not just your space -- and if she doesn't like how something was done, she will call you at work, school, or even while you're at a recovery meeting and demand you return to fix it, threatening to write you up if you don't. If you have a job or are building a stable life, don't expect any support from her. She values control more than your progress. I followed every rule, stayed sober, was respectful, and never once caused a problem. But the moment I told her -- three days in advance -- that my contribution would be late and that I would have it paid in full by Sunday with late fees, she didn't even hesitate before throwing me out. She didn't ask questions. She didn't show concern. She didn't offer resources. She just told me to get out, mid-conversation, while I was still trying to explain. To make matters worse, she never served a 3-day notice, nor an eviction letter -- completely disregarding tenant rights. I had to call the San Bernardino Police Department just to legally access and retrieve my belongings. I came into this house with less than 90 days sober, no criminal record, and a full-time job -- doing my absolute best to rebuild. If you're seeking peace, support, and the kind of serenity promised by AA, NA, or CA -- you will not find it here. What you will find is someone exploiting the vulnerable for rent money and house chores, with no real interest in helping people get well. Please, don't be fooled. Read this and believe it. Your early sobriety is too precious to risk in a place like this

This is NOT a good place. The manager doesn't work a program. She literally cares more about the…read moreone crumb left on the counter than the people who stay there. She is crazy about cleaning. She literally had me come home to clean knowing I was on my way to get my medication and go to a meeting. I take the bus and she KNEW I couldn't make it home and make the meeting. She has cameras in every single room amd believe me, she watches them. She will watch your every move. She would send messages about cleaning while I was at work and would flip out if I didn't get back to her in a timely manner. She works nights and expects it dead silent during the day, but lord knows she could boil chicken for her dogs for hours at night and make it stink. I was in a constant state of anxiety around her. She would leave nasty notes on a whiteboard. You literally could not please this woman. The rooms are small and uncomfortable and you had to sleep on plastic that wrapped the mattress. Her dogs would come in and out of the house making a total mess that you have to clean. The only thing she cared about was getting her money on time and the cleaning. I saw a dog get run over one day and came home crying. She showed zero empathy. I was listening to arabic music one day and she accused me of devil worship. Look at the screen shots in the pictures if you dont believe me.

My mother was admitted to the hospital in Dec 2024 due to hip and lumbar fractures and needed…read moreplacement in a nursing home for rehabilitation. With the help of Johann from Home Health, my mother was placed at Medical Center Convalescent Hospital. Before her admission, I read several Yelp reviews and honestly, many of them were not very encouraging. However, this facility was close to both my home and workplace, which allowed me to visit my mom every day, so we decided to give it a chance. We arrived at the facility around 4 PM on a Saturday. To my surprise, Ana, the Director of Nursing, was there waiting for us. What immediately impressed me was that it was the weekend, yet she greeted us with a warm smile and welcomed us like family. She personally showed us to my mom's room. Although the building itself is older, it was very clean, there was no urine smell in the hallways, which was a huge relief. My mom's room was spotless, with freshly changed lines and the housekeeper was even hanging newly washed curtains. Anna, then introduced us to my mom's CNA, nurse, and the entire admitting team, including PT,OT, dietitian and admitting staff etc. Everyone was friendly, smiling, and genuinely welcoming. At that moment, I felt reassured and at peace knowing I was leaving my mother in such caring hands. Around 5PM, my mom was already served dinner with the correct diet. I was truly impressed by how efficient and organized the staff, completely the opposite of what I had read in some reviews. The very next morning, I arrived around 8AM and found Glenda, my mom's CNA, already giving her a bed bath. Shortly after, Christy from PT came in to assess my mom. Again, I was amazed, this was Sunday, and services had already begun. The PT team was extremely patient with my mom, who was initially very scared to walk. She tended to tiptoe instead of placing her feet flat on the ground, and her gait was unsteady. With time, encouragement, and consistency, she improved significantly.Throughout her stay, all the nurses and CNAs were patient, loving, and kind. Every time I visited, my mom had nothing but good things to say. She remembered everyone by name, and even the housekeeping staff became her friends. My mom preferred staying in her room, so the staff would come in, sit with her, chat, and keep her company. That meant so much to us. One thing that truly stood out to me was Ana's leadership. When the facility was short-staffed, Ana didn't just supervise, she worked alongside her staff, even doing skin treatments herself. During the Palisades fire, when patients were transferred to this facility, I personally witnessed how the entire team worked together seamlessly to accommodate everyone. Their teamwork, dedication, and compassion were remarkable. After 11 months, my mom fully recovered and is now able to walk safely with a walker. We decided it was time to bring her home. When the staff found out, they were genuinely sad, the best way. They expressed how much they would miss her. There were so many staff members involved in my mom's care that I can't name everyone, but they truly became her second family. I am honestly teary-eyed while writing this review because I witnessed firsthand how dedicated, hardworking, and compassionate these people are. They loved my mother as if she were their own family. My family is deeply grateful for the care and compassion this nursing home showed my mother. From the very beginning, the staff treated her with dignity, patience, and genuine kindness. They cared for her not just as a patient, but as a person. The nurses, CNAs,housekeepers, and support staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure my mom was comfortable, safe, and well cared for. They listened to her, respected her, and treated her with warmth. Knowing she was in such loving and capable hands gave our family great peace of mind. Kudos to all the CNAs! Joyce became one of my mom's friends-she never missed giving my mom a shower. She moisturized my mom's skin with lotion-I could tell coz she does not have scaly skin! I have to mentioned Zoraya, Tata, Linda, Stephanie, Jose, and so many more (sorry I can't remember everyone's names but I know your faces) thank you to all of you! To all the nurse you're all heroes! Thank you Jocelyn for preparing all the discharge papers today. To Jenelyn-thank you! If you are looking for a place for your loved one, this is the place. I highly recommend Medical Center Convalescent Hospital. When we left, my mom was crying-not because she didn't want to go home, but because she would miss everyone so much. They truly became her second family. We took pictures before leaving, and you could clearly see the love-staff hugging her, crying! As my mom goes home, we leave with nothing but appreciation and gratitude. Thank you for treating my mother like family and for the compassion you showed her every single day. We will always be thankful! God bless you all!

Now specifically with Glen Helen I don't recommend a visit it's a long commute. I had to report from here let me say taking the bus at 4am from OCTA to Omni Trans to the San Bernardino bus lines is an exhausting journey 5 buses and when you get to the city of San Bernardino it's a drugs and prostitution from corner to corner followed with pimps and gangbangers on every block keep your head down and mind your own and you'll be alright once off the bus a 3.5 mile walk up and down the dirt roads of Institution Rd was followed. Deputies were definitely on the short side out here but if you can make one laugh you break their funk but it's a risk I got lucky because I wasn't trying to come back or do more time. I made this journey a half a dozen times until I saved up for house arrest and finished my time here rehabilitated. blown through a pair of sneakers where my feet hurt like hell and spent 4am-9pm just in bus commutes 3.5 mile walk in the dry 80-90 degree heat and work release 3 days with 2 nights on the streets all while busting my ass at a part time job. Yeah definitely glad that part of my life was over.
